- Well, I'm starting a new painting series. This is the first of four arcrylic paintings! All of them will be 16x16" summer/autumn landscapes, focusing on the tension between seasons. I hope you like this one! I've been really into larger paintings and artwork that comes from nature lately!
Anyway, feel free to paint with me! I hope you enjoy this! There are limited-edition prints available in my shop if you want one! :)

What I love about watching you paint, especially skies and water, is you make it look so easy. You swish your paint brush with beautiful matched color of paint, then you add other layers of perfectly colored paint to the canvas and then next you see….a beautiful execution of your rendition of the picture. How you do it, I don’t know but I am totally jealous of your talent ♥️ I would love to see you do a video of just you painting with no audio or music, just the sounds of the paint brush scraping the canvas.
Your comments about tension and not appreciating each season made me think of what my husband and I have been experiencing since his terminal diagnosis. We are in this strange space of dealing with the hard parts of his illness (the being sick and facing death) and trying to make the most of the time we have left. It’s hard sometimes to appreciate the joy of the good times because we are sometimes focused on the sad times that are coming. ❤
To answer your question, no I don't like change, lol!!!
I'm not sure what you mean by "tension" so I'm interested and invested to see how this series progresses!!

The difficult thing with change being a mom of a non-verbal child with autism is how much anxiety it stirs up in her. I have to be the calm center for her sake, so I often don't have time to process my own feelings until the change has become habit. I love your idea of portraying the tension between the seasons! I have autism and was no picnic for my parents so I understand. Painting and art helped me a lot growing up get my emotions out. Its fun to do it together. I have difficulty with change and if its too much leads to a major meltdown. Its difficult for sure with autism. My parents had to tell me what the plan was before any changes were made, especially moving homes. It has to be a gradual transition. Even as an adult i still have difficulty with change and getting used to the things i can't control. Keep up the caring and being super mom.
I struggle with change perhaps because I am on the autism spectrum. There is something fascinating about in between stages however. Maybe that is something for me to focus on in times of change. I like autumn alot. There are so many enjoyable thing during that time of the year. Looking forward to seeing more of this series. This painting turned out wonderful.
I don't mind change if it's planned. I don't like surprises, they give me anxiety. I love the change of summer into fall and fall into winter. I love cooler weather and the holidays: Halloween to my birthday (in February, ok I know that's not a holiday outside of my head, but it's still in winter soo I group it in there). Fall into winter is my favourite time of year, Christmas with all the lights, decorations, music and holiday movies and gift shopping for my friends just makes me happy, like a little kid, it's magical.

I thrive on change. When things stay the same I slowly die on the inside and there is no inspiration at all. The lockdown was soooo bad for me, luckily this summer the world opened up again and I am so refreshed and full of inspiration!

I am not a big fan of change. It usually makes me sick to my stomach. I absolutely DESPISE moving and new jobs….BLECH!!! But I think this painting and the idea behind it is just freaking brilliant!!!

You are the BEST!!! I first found you right after I was diagnosed with heart failure, you are so charming and your voice is so calming, it just swept me away from my issues. Keeping in mind that I am mostly an abstract expressionist painter, you have challenged me to make art that is COMPLETELY different from my style and I LOVE it!!!
Your how to fill your sketchbook series helped me get past the first page fear of starting my first sketchbook and for that, I thank you.
My mother would tell you that I have always been artistic, but I leaned more towards crafty than artistic. Thanks to your videos, I can now proudly say, “Look, I really am artistic!!”
I love change and I don’t love change. Haha!
Some things (like starting a new job ,or especially that time between summer and fall) fill me with excitement and joy. (My favorite type of day is sunny but cool with a crispness in the air that comes with the fall feel juuuust before or as the leaves start to change.)
But changing other things, like habits I’ve been stuck in for a very long time, or an unexpected change like losing someone, usually brings me anxiety and dread or a very uneasy feeling.
Love hearing your thought process behind this. I love having paintings that have some sort of metaphor, thats kind of what I like to portray in art. So good ❤

Love the thought of this series! I do like change but I can be stubborn when it comes to pivoting. I tend to appreciate the process more if there is something to be learned from the situation.
I struggle with change so much especially when I was in school going to and from classes I would have meltdowns in secret because I thought it wasn't normal but learning that I actually had autism helped me to cope better with changes and that it's okay to have meltdowns and that I don't need to mask as much as I did and that it's okay to grieve when things change. I am still on the journey to allowing myself to be who I am while still figuring out changes sorting through my thoughts.
Weird thing you mention change haha. I just moved for the first time in my life, and it’s been quite the experience. So many emotions going through me at once, a lot of sadness, and some specks of excitement. All I’ve been thinking about is how different it’s been. I moved from California to a place where we have snow days at school. I’ve been scared, but I know God has my back. On another note, I’m really excited to see the rest of the painting series! The first painting is so pretty, and I feel like I’m starting to see a bit more of the under painting, cause I think I didn’t really understand it at first 😅 Anyways, have a great week everyone! 💜
I feel like I should like change but everytime it happens I get so anxious in the beginning but in the end I always realize how that change was good for me - also I love the way you painted the sky! Thanks for always inspiring me to keep painting 🥰
I am horrible with change. And my family an I are going through a huge change. I have 6 children and we just had a huge house fire an lost everything…and the change is the hardest part for me right now…..everyone is safe and we’re doing ok. No one was hurt thankfully. I know our items can be replaced but it’s the change into a new home that’s giving me so much anxiety. Starting over. Normally I would have my art supplies to get me through but again change I have to find a new way. We all do as a family….thank you for this video. Couldn’t of came at a better time.
I am both happy with where my life is at present, and comfortable in my life, and yet I love the excitement of walking down a new road, stepping thru a new door, to experience what is on the other side. So I suppose I stand in the middle. I find that my life is fairly predictable and I love that, but at the same time, there is a sense of wonder at the things that a new direction or circumstance can bring. I love my life, and I have reached an age where the familiar is comforting and that is a real blessing, but the fact remains that nothing ever stays exactly the same. Change is inevitable, so instead of dreading it, embrace it and focus on getting the most you can get out of it, so that you enjoy the experience. Life is fleeting, take hold of it and enjoy the ride, that is how I feel about it. The fear of the unknown should never hold us back. Life is too short to waste a day of it on fear!
I love change that I have chosen. When change is thrust upon me and I have to deal with it, it is very anxiety inducing 😅 lovely painting!

Change definitely gives me anxiety. I'm resistant to it. I'm a creature of habit, I like to know ahead of time what's happening and when. Lol. Love this piece! Can't wait to see the next one!

From my personal experiences I usually don't like change for me, things usually change for the worst. My favorite people & or cat dies or my chronic illness, Sickle Cell Anemia effects my plans or my health negatively. When I choose change I look forward to it consider & it to be the best part of life. New Year's is my favorite & it's around my birthday so I get filled with excitement for the possibilities it brings. I look forward to new beginnings I always loved beginning a new school year/semester. Yet change is terrifying.

Having autism i have difficulty with change. I like routine but I try to spend some time doing something i can enjoy and try to ground myself in art when I'm having difficulty with changes in my life.
I can definitely accept & use change in art - especially if I feel like said change can improve what I'm doing, but I cannot with changes in life. I've never been one to accept any kind of changes easily. Especially sudden, unexpected and served at a bad time and place changes. I'd always try and sneak back to my comfort zone. Which has been really not useful with trying to get myself in shape.
I really like your attitude towards art. I struggle with perfectionism, and I've also experienced people online telling me my art is bad. This has left me with a lot of confidence issues, to the point it's hard for me to create anymore. I think I experienced a lot of encouragement when I was younger and that maybe led me to believe that how good your art is determines it's value, and your own value. I'm trying to learn from you Mira, that it's okay to make mistakes, that art is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, etc. My therapist says there's value in doing things just because I enjoy doing them, regardless of how good the results are. Everyone I know in real life is always impressed with my art anyway. I have a friend in particular who is really supportive of my art, and she sees my creative process so she knows how I struggle. I'd be really interested if you were to do a video talking about your attitude towards art, or about confidence as an artist. I've seen you make mistakes before for example, and it doesn't seem to phase you at all. I just think you have a really good attitude that I can learn from. Thank you for helping me on my journey, and I look forward to watching more painting videos!

change is hard for me, but also gives me more experience as i get older so i do learn to appreciate it later on in life because you dont appreciate it right away. in the moment its different, really hard or maybe just easy to adjust to doing. i think change is good for growth even if its the worst kind of change.

Change is incredibly stressful. I do like positive surprises sometimes. I’d rather preplan and avoid big changes. But sometimes the thing is so much better than ‘how things have been’ that a big change is ‘worth it’. Perfect change is fine to me. Changing art materials, changing up subjects, playing a new game, etc. I think it’s complicated and change can also be safer or more dangerous it depends on the situation/change. I Don’t mind seasonal changes and I enjoy how it currently is well especially because you have no control over the weather/seasons so enjoy what is while it is.

My husband is in the military so we move every three years... I actually LOVE change. I love getting the opportunity to see new places and meet new people.

Sometimes I find change exciting, but often I find it nerve wracking. Living in Florida, I welcome the change of summer to fall. After 4 straight months of soul sucking, swamp heat, I look forward to crisper, cooler days. At the moment, Hurricane Ian is headed for us so I am not looking forward to the changes that will bring (!) In fact, I'm slightly terrified. Wish me luck.

Whether or not I like changes, depends on what kind of change it is. I recently started going to the driving school, because I want to get my drivers licence, well... I'm nervous about it, but also a bit excited. And also still feels a little surreal to. me that I'll be driving a car some day 😅
Little changes I don't mind as much, big ones make me nervous.
I like change. I embrace it fully. Sometimes too fully. Making quick decisions and just accepting the differences

I guess it would depend how big the change is. If it’s something small I’m usually okay with it. But if it’s a huge life changing change then it gives me anxiety. As someone who has had a lot of life changing change some were good but some were bad sometimes it’s difficult cause I’m a what ifer if that’s a thing. Lol like the what if’s of my change get me. Like am I doing the right things or is this gonna be a bad idea. Lol but that’s what therapy is for and thank the lord for that! Lol but I love the painting and I can’t wait for more! Your videos are always a blessing especially for someone like me. And I can’t wait for more!! 🤗🫶🏻
Sometimes change feels necessary for me to refresh. Right now I like a lot in my life, but that makes me want to edit out everything that doesn’t support the part that feels so good. Excited for this series.😊💜
I think you just have to accept that change is inevitable. If you fight it, you will just end up feeling frustrated. It will happen. You just have to roll with it. 😊
Depends on the change. Summer into Fall being it on, new job, it's a bit nerve wracking for this introvert lol. I went to Blick up in Columbus at the beginning of the month. I was floored by all the goodies and spent 100 bucks in just refilling colored pencils I needed! I would be even more dangerous in the warehouse! Stay in the same vein of changing of the seasons but use th me TENSION of those changes, I think that would be a beautiful series:)
Change is hard. I already have so much anxiety and it's just strange sometimes. So much has changed within the last three years though so it's just sad but normal most of the time. It's still something I really struggle with and there's always tension but I think it's something that I'm adapting to something that we're all adapting to.

This was an interesting process to see and I totally know that feeling when some idea changes mid work. I think it takes courage to just go with the flow and not try to force the first idea if it doesn't feel good anymore. I love how the underpainting shines through in this painting! Also watching you paint really makes me want to paint as well so thank you for the inspiration!
Finding the time . . . I teach elementary art and drive 50 miles to/from. I’ve got oils and a canvas in a drawer behind me. I may have to set up an easel in my classroom (we don’t do oils at this age 😅) to get anything done.

Change causes so many different emotions for me. It's exhilarating, terrifying, and just kind of what it is. One of the biggest things I've learned as a parent is that kids make life ever changing. Each stage is different and you live in this constant stage of evolving that you find a way to thrive through.
As soon as you popped up the finished painting, I saw a funny cartooney, purplish chubby Brontosaurus looking at us with his big derpy face. I have no idea why, it just happened. Hahaha

Qotd: I've never coped with change well. I'm getting better, I realized it's not change that I have a problem with per se. If I want to change the direction of my art piece, get a pet or get a new job or up, that's MY choice. It's the changes that I had NO SAY IN that stress me out (aka the unknown). Ex if my family decides to up and move or an event I was excited about get cancelled, I have no choice but to "deal with it". I don't hate all change, it can be nice to start a new chapter in your life. It's only hard for me when I didn't choose it.

I absolutely hate change, thinking about it or while I’m in the midst of it but usually appreciate the outcome later on. Anticipating (dreading) change is actually worse than the change itself. At least for me.

I have autism and (i think adhd) so im somehow both. Autism want structure and routines and sameness, but the adhd wants novelty and change to not get bored.

Yes I do like change. I’m a pretty spontaneous person. I like variety in lots of areas. I have to say as I get older I just need a comfy bed and loose clothes. Otherwise I can deal with pretty much anything. Hee hee.

No one likes change. We are creatures that are biologically wired for homeostasis. But...change is essential for growth. The seasons constantly remind us of this.
I find change is a challenge. For example, having moved many times, sometimes it was scary and sometimes it was a relief. The thing I've found about change is the unknown of what's ahead creates the apprehension; how we view that change is what makes the difference.
I think people like change when life is going good.
When life isn't going well, that change is scary and unpredictable.
I am from a poor family. I can't live with my parents if things go awry. The financial pressures are crushing.

If it is a good change then yes but if it is a bad change then no. A good change that has happened to me is that I have become an aunt to a boy. A bad change that has happened to me is I lost my grandmother a week ago and my father 2 years ago.
