🔥Next Friday I'm trying to find out if the reflector behind the fire and the shelter wall behind me are able to reflect infrared waves to warm me. I do this with my infrared camera. I hope you tune in again!🔥

Great outing Felix! I do similar outings with minimal kits, usually just a haversack or a few belt pouches. I don't find that wood and boughs reflect much heat. It might be considered cheating but I often make a wood frame and use a space blanket for a lean-to. Combined with a long fire it reflects heat well. SOL brand hold up well and don't easily tear like cheaper space blankets. With no blanket, sleeping bag, pad, etc and only a spruce bough bed I sleep comfortably in temps around 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-17C).

I don't generally watch ASMR, because I like to hear people talk. But because it was you I decided to watch. What I learned was how much time and effort it takes to build a survival shelter. More than most people would believe. The food looked good, too!

Terrific video, as always! I'm not sure if anyone else has said this in the comments below, but I don't really think of a fire reflector as something that reflects heat, per se. Rather, the material which makes up the fire reflector performs two functions: 1) it acts as a wind break, and 2) it absorbs thermal radiation, and subsequently re-emits that as heat in all directions, including of course, towards the fire. It acts as a heat sink, really. Makes a small to medium difference to the amount of heat radiation coming towards you, if you are on the other side of the fire.

Wow... very nice and calming video... it remembers me my beloved mountains in South Italy, because yes, you are very skilled and have a great knowledge of the "territory", but here the real magic is the mountain itself... I used to collect mushrooms with friends back in the time and at the end of the excursions we always set a fire and ate some roasted "lardo" (pork fat) with bread... it was magic... the taste and the warm feeling after a long cold walking day... indescribable... watching this video brought me back in time and I can almost smell the flavours and taste the "lardo"... I miss my mountains and I miss my friends...

Its a shame there isn't many places here in the area of the UK where it is still permitted to go outdoors over night over a weekend to get back to nature. Loves it as a kid growing up. Miss going wooding with my father. Its a shame as I would go out once or twice a month over night. Used to do it all the time yrs ago but now due to all of the surrounding fields being used for housing and the nearest wood open to all the public there is no where to go out over night now here in the center of Bedfordshire in England. Canada Switzerland and other eu countries mabe as they have more land than here in blighty. Great fun to watch and love the videos. Keep them coming Felix

"Modern" goods: 2 lamps, a sawblade, a hand-axe, a knife, a cookpot and a pan. Nature provided the materials for everything else. I especially like how you crafted a chair before finishing the shelter- a few moments comfortable rest revives a tired body creating energy to continue on better. I've heard hot water and a 'kuska' do not mix together well, do you do this regularly?
A great video Felix, exceedingly excellent in every way.

Felix this is a great video! Looks like it was fun and you had a good nights sleep. I like that the tools you used are from your other videos. Im just not used to watching a video of you but not hearing you talk. 🤣

Welcome back--great video. My Dad studied medicine in Switzerland in the 1930s and brought back two Swiss Army knives to the US. One was always with us on car trips, etc. I still have them. He also always had a "gentleman's SAK" in his pocket, as do I and my son (all doctors). I have saved a few lives by having one always with me and sometimes give a 58mm as a gift to outstanding medical students for that reason. However, your channel has opened a whole world of applications to me. Thank you very much.

Wow, best traditional bushcraft video I have seen this year. One of your best on scenery, camera angles, and application of things you have made in the past. Links to the videos of things you used are great. It's good to see you out in the wilderness again. You hold an excellent skill set. Thank you and rich blessings to you and your family.
