I relate to the laughing at bad situations thing. I remember when I lost a friend of mine and I was being told about it, I actually laughed. Not because it was funny, but it didn't feel real. I couldn't fathom the thought of this person I'd just been with not being alive anymore. This is so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry this happened to your family ❤.
What a painful experience 😪 😢 💔 passing away of a person is traumatizing, happening in front of you and you feeling helpless is the worst. I remember loosing my brother in car accident, I felt horrible for my mother who find him still in a car cold. I'm so grateful for church members who said you won't drive like this stay over I only got there when they already took only the car was left. My last memory was when he arrived in my house with his smile carrying a pizza for me. So many guilty you go through because he was coming back from my house he had this accident he was found in the morning. Worse time of my life. I cannot imagine how much pain the guest went through. Sending love and prayers to him and his family. Being so strong and teaching us. I'm definitely going to get fire aids because it's something we think it's will not happend to us. This is a very story and very traumatic. In a case of mistaken identity, my very own sister that I come after died together with her husband and their 2 children aged 7 and 5 while they were sleeping at night. Someone came and poured petrol on their shack and fired some shots. The children passed on instantly, my brother in law followed a day after and my sister passed on 5 days later all in hellen joseph. While in hospital my sister kept telling to wait for her and not to do the burials because she wanted to be buried at same time with them. It was headline news and took so long to prepare for burials such that she passed on and we buried them all together. While in hospital she also kept telling me she no longer had a reason to live because of she lived she was going to be a burden to us. It was in 2004 in diepsloot.
My mother couldn't bear attending the burials and passed on 2 years later. She was never the same. I am not sure how myself and siblings healed from that heartache

It wasn't an "either or" situation as you might thing, self preservation is also is very strong in many of us, I have so much to live for I couldn't do that to my family. Some reason with their hearts and that's okay but some do it with heart and mind. It is important to keep level headed in cases of trauma because you could be the difference between saving lives and losing more. So to say I did not do a thing is really distasteful.

I know your pain only too well bhudhi wami , its a pain you live with daily , you relive that moment everyday , everything triggers you just seeing a happy mum can reduce you to tears , seeing children your child’s age trigger you sometimes , when u lose a parent you become an orphan but losing a child is unnatural , undiscribable . Sometimes I am angry with God himself . But then I am reminded of that glorious morning when we will meet again to part nomore 🙏🏿

@@Cyamonicaa Please bear in mind that my thinking is in hindsight, I only reconciled this internal conflict after many years of unnecessary guilt. looking back I realise that there's nothing I could've done, I didn't stop fighting but I was powerless against a raging fire. I have made peace with myself.
I think the other reason he is not able to heal properly is because he is carrying guilt. What has happened happened, find strength and comfort you will become better the flash backs will stop. Askies painful experience
