I have been told that active steady shot works better with Sony lenses than third party, and dynamic works about the same on both. I didn’t see a huge difference, although the cranked shutter speed could have had an effect. I have actually been using the Sony 24 G on ZVE1 with active. I’m liking it. Small lens and pretty stable. Dynamic is nice but I’m finding it not necessary
Hey April, cranking the shutter speed has an effect overall but like you, I haven’t seen a substantial difference between a Sony lens and a third party.
Need a comparison to the Sony 20mm 2.8 that came with the nex lenses
I recently purchased this lens using a discount code which reduced the price to below 140 euro including delivery. Amazing value for money! Autofocus is fast on the Sony A7iv, face tracking works just fine. Currently using the lens for talking head style videos - for which it is ideal.

The Sony lenses have less micro jitter on stabilisation settings. That’s definitely the case.
How would you say it compares to the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 or the Samyang 18mm f/2.8?
One cannot tell with a video of that lens is any good, I have a stash of Sony lenses and all are soooo sharp corner to corner when taking 61mp images. Never tried video on mine (A7CR) as it is rather bulky and heavy for such so get out the good old GoPro H12. Now a brilliant lens for cheap is a Sony, it’s the 28-60 EF, a bargain for its sharpness. But of course no good for vloggibg, brilliant for lightweight street photography.
