@@Gabriel-vm6nb hello Gabriel, while a desire for monasticism is a good thing to test out, we must take our steps in the right order: the first thing you must do is find a parish, worship there regularly and then approach the priest about becoming Orthodox: this process normally takes a minimum of a year. Once you are Orthodox, you will be to visit monasteries and confess there, and perhaps find a spiritual father to guide you. Be patient, all things in God’s time. God bless you. Priest Spyridon

My grandmother was a devout Catholic and had always emphasized how important the ten commandments are. I never really understood it growing up and was a very very young secular agnostic person until 5 years ago I gave my life to Christ. Now I understand the Ten Commandments completely and reflect back what my grandmother had tried to instill in me. I’m thankful now more than ever that seed she put in my heart have come to flourish and understanding the Christian life. I have learned to trust God and rely only on him for every aspect of my life. Dear soul, these thoughts are from the evil one! Do not despair! The Lord's mercy endures forever and as long as you fighting the battle, and getting up even if you've fallen a thousand times, the Lord will forgive and in His timing will give us enough grace to overcome certain passions. As many saints say, sometimes the Lord allows us to battle with some passions because if not, we fall into a bigger sin. Remember even the apostles committed many bad sins and saint Paul said that God did not want to deliver him from a battle he was facing because God's strength is in our weakness and our reliance on Him. These, are the commandments of The Lord.
1. Thou shalt have no god before Me.
2. Thou shalt not commit idolatry.
3. Thou shalt not take The Lord's name in vain.
4. Remember the saboth day, and keep it holy.
5. Honour thy mother, and father.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not murder.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not lie.
10. Thou shalt not covet anything , from anyone.
These, are the commandments Jesus, gave us.
1. Love The Lord, thy God, with all your heart, mind, spirit, and might.
2. Love thy neighbor, as thyself.
3. Love thy enemy.
4. Bless, those who curse you.
5. Do good, to those who harm you.
6. Pray, for those who use you spitefully.
Do these, and it will be like honey, to thy soul, and marrow, to thy bones. And may The Lord's countenance shine upon You !
