    Fun fact: The ICE train you took was no DB ICE but a Dutch NS ICE (the Dutch national carrier NS operates some ICE 3 MF units. They only differ in details from their German siblings, e.g. in having an "ICE Bistro" instead of a "Bordrestaurant" and of course carrying NS logos instead of DB logos.

    • @mstrmren
      @mstrmren Před rokem

      Yeah, these will be replaced soon though and NS will not have any ICE trains after 2025/2026 as far as I know. They apparently don't plan to purchase any ICE3neo from Db.

    Awesome video guys! Thanks so much! We are Kiwi's living in Singapore and we have just booked a trip to Germany for Christmas and were wondering whether hiring a car or using trains was going to be cheaper. Seems like with the Bahn card, it could work out cheaper.

    • @hgworldtour
      @hgworldtour  Před 2 lety +1

      Wow that's awesome, hope you are enjoying Singapore? Yes the Bahn card is great or you can use the flex trains if it's just a one time experience on the German trains. Germany has some beautiful Christmas markets, you're going to have an awesome time! :)

    Hello! Could you help me with my doubt:
    Do those trains (ICD, IC, ICE) accept large suitcases (22kg) in second class? In my ticket does not appear if they allow large luggage :(

    • @hgworldtour
      @hgworldtour  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! We both had a big backpack each (about 15kg each) and some other bags and were allowed on all transport, they just had bag storage on the train carriage either above the seat or near the doors we stored it in that :)

    I want to go from Munich to Poland and I’m thinking about getting a flight since I have so much trouble sitting for hours. But I’ll be leaving Valeria. Am I supposed to go to a bus station and take that to the HBF? And then when I want to go from Stuttgart and fly to Poland, Emma can have to go to the Hbf First and does it take me straight to pull in or will it drop me somewhere and then I have to catch a bus to the location I want to go? It’s scary

    Pricey train travel? You can literally take a train with the whole family from Cologne to Munich for 50€. Even if you book 3 weeks in advance. Pricey compared to India maybe.

    • @hgworldtour
      @hgworldtour  Před 2 lety

      Everything is cheaper when you book in advance, Germany has some of the most expensive trains in Europe.

    • @mstrmren
      @mstrmren Před 2 lety

      @@hgworldtour Well, which company is cheaper? I think the prices are compareble with RENFE and SNCF, and they are the most similar to DB. DB is a system similar to airlines where prices get more expensive the more tickets are sold for one train, meaning it is cheaper to take an IC instead of an ICE, or travelling overnight. That is important to know. I know SNCB and NS might be cheaper, but the countries they are operating in are 6-7 times smaller compared to the size Germany.

    Germany USED to have the finest train system in all of Europe. Today, most don't realize that this statement is true. Now, trains are delayed, not on time. What were once imacculate train stations where you wouldn't see one piece of trash or a weed are totally TRASHED... I just returned from riding trains from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and then to Heidelberg and was SHOCKED compared to 10 years ago... Recent Immigrants just walking into 1st class trains with conductors afraid to ask them for tickets or passes, train stations littered with garbage and people using the trains that aren't paying for transport... The Third World was taken in by Germany and now Germany is part of the Third World...
