I use stock, but I can't never get the vocals in front of the beat, or even get rid of the stuffy feeling ( I tried turning down the beat and got rid of all the lows )(still didn't work)

@@youngexplosion1473 hahahah sorry I replied when I was at work. Start by gain staging ur mic. You wanna see a pretty small waveform when u record (You dont wanna come in so hot as it is easy to turn back up) the distance from your mouth to mic is important. Have a play around but make sure your tests are consistent ( use tape to signal the g spots). Room acoustics! You want to avoid glass, and walls which have had no acoustic treating. Control of your vocal dynamics is a huge one as well. (It will save you heaps of time when mixing.) this id suggest sing from your stomach and really start to become aware of what notes and phrases make you louder and quieter. ask why ( to yourself) ALL THE TIME

Sounds like you need OTT it's free, puts vocals in front and gives a cleaner brighter sound, but don't over do it
