hi guys, this aria was formerly on youtube but they removed it, luckily i installed it before that. I upload this video for those who want to hear Patricia singing this famous aria again.
most people's perception of an opera singer is a buxom 40yo with a booming voice! because patricia was so young & slim for an established opera singer, she offered a fresh new sound!!
patricia sang many songs that seemed to have farewell themes to them, such as, 'memory', 'think of me', 'pie jesu', 'ave maria', 'o mio bambino caro', 'potkam te zas', songs from, 'lord of the rings', & even the melancholy, 'once upon a time in the west'!!!@@luckyluke3619
For me she was the one who represented modern opera singing as no other. She dosed and balanced the vibrato so well. In all her recordings I have never ever heard any unpleasant "screaming tone". Everything in her singing is so musical and beautiful. She sang so natural on the breath. Right before her illness her voice had already matured so that she soon would have been found on the famous big stages of the opera in lyrical roles. Thanks for sharing this audio document.
We need to be very grateful to listen to Patricia's hypnotic and enchanting voice generously shared with us effortlessly the way only great singers ❤ can do. We are soo lucky to have this sparking diamond 💎!
Thank you for uploading this wonderful video. My old heart is broken, I just discovered Patricia a few days ago and am devastated that such a gorgeous young woman, with a voice to make the angels weep, is already gone from this sad world. May she rest in peace, and I am glad that some of her everlastingly beautiful singing is still here for us to enjoy.
Heard recently of your recent passing which shocked and sorrowed all your fans: but every once in a long long while the angels need a solo soprano for their choir so i'm sure you're having a ball singing with Luciano, Mario, and all the greats. You must be the youngest, prettiest and strongest voice in the celestial choir! I'll never stop listening to your classic recordings and videos.
Patricia auditioned for, and was chosen for, the role of Gilda in a filmed version of Rigoletto. Hearing this, the choice must have been an easy one! But the film was never made. I think the first Covid pandemic scuppered it, but I don’t know for sure. Whatever the reason, we are all the poorer because of it.
And I add MERCI, MERCI, MERCI to your comments that represent exactly my own reaction... CARO NOME is my preferred song and while it is sung by other sopranos none of them has the ''voice quality'' of our beautiful Patricia.... I hope she gets better and better....🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶
Adding my thanks to those of others for the re-uploading of this sublime performance. Regarding the date of the performance, I found a reference in a post dated 2017-05-01 by laboriously scrolling down through the years on Patricia's Facebook page. Unfortunately, the post doesn't directly mention the date of the performance, which, I believe, was a gala concert at the end of a singing competition. I hope Patricia or someone in her circle provides the correct answer.
I am thrilled to be able to listen to this magnificent prestation once again,,, Caro Nome is one of my favorite song🎵🎶🎵 Let's hope that the other missing songs will eventually be retrieved,,,, Anybody knows the reasons for these purges.....🎼
I just learned of Patricia several weeks ago. Perhaps a month ago. Learning of her passing took the wind out of my sails. I've thought of Patricia's incredible life, talent and passing. I remember Patricia everyday, many times a day. My heart hurts, more importantly, my heart hurts and grieves for Patricia's husband, mother, father, siblings, family members and friends who knew Patricia intimately. I'm a stranger with a broken heart. The depth of pain and loss experienced by Patricia's spouse, immediate, extended family and friends is exponentially greater than mine. It's thought provoking to imagine the depth of their pain. Why did God take from her loved ones, such a brilliant, talented young woman with a magical voice and a lovely, beautiful spirit? As a humble and unenlightened earthling, I have no idea as to why Patricia would have been taken at such a young age. Perhaps Patricia accomplished all and more than she was destined to accomplish during her stellar life span. It doesn't render her death any less painful.😢😢
@@lisaatwa3559 The priest who conducted Patricia’s funeral said (as roughly translated): ‘Many of us must have had that burning, gnawing question, why so young, why so talented, why so kind, why now? My dears, anyone who thinks they know the answer is either proud or foolish. This is beyond our thinking. It is the secret of Patricia's life, which is not measured by time, but by the intensity of the encounter.’
The best opera singer and classical singer I have ever heard. What a loss. What a tragedy.

It's almost as if she was singing for her own departure! Look at her face and you see a woman way beyond her 25 years of existence!

@@luckyluke3619It is quite possible Patricia knew she was dying. Had she lived, she would have been a great Gilda.
Noch ein Stern wird im Himmel ewig leuchten.... so traurig😢😢, dass sie nur mit 25 dieser Welt verlassen hat. R.I.P. Patricia...❣

My feelings too. So many sopranos set my teeth on edge, not her. My fav., "Rusalka".
Vraiment c'est dieu qui nous a fait cette grâce ! Sachons sans prétention faisons partie de reconnaître cette merveille sans nom ! Adorons la.

One of the most beautiful song of her repertoire.... Rest in peace, Dear Patricia,,,, We will miss you. 😥😢😥
She was the best of her time, a true angel has left this world, we will never forget you Patricia, rest in peace

One of the best emotional aria…touching your heart
Patricia … sings excellent 🙏💐
You hear the song, and all you can think is "Patricia" God gave you a gift when you were born
That, plus the patience and discipline to nurture and develop that voice.
The best of the best. Rest in Peace, my Love.

Thanx for saving this beautiful addition to her online program. Hope she returns soon!

Patricia was a gift from God and God took it back because people don't deserve it.

Best performance of this aria, hands down!! Is there a video recording of this? I would love to see her singing this! What a talent she was....

Do you have more removed content from Patricia?
I do hope somebody does. So much was purged; and it is sorely missed.

The best that I can remember, she was 18 or 19 years old, and it was from a recital after a contest for classical singing.
What she did win . . .
