I'd say two of the best late night hosts ever it's so interesting to see Conan interviewing someone who was going to eventually be an amazing talk show host the two of them on a podcast today would be just awesome beyond belief! They're both so intelligently comical!
Conan and craig should be the definition of late-night talk show. Conan a professional genius with amazing writing skills and craig just being naturally funny and charismatic. Hoping they collab in future.
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson was the most consistently, laugh-out-loud funny show ever on television! I miss that show more than any other show I've ever watched on TV! It always tended toward the silly, with characters like (Not A Real Horse) Secretariat, Sid The Cursing Bunny and Josh Robert Thompson's many character voicings, especially Geoff Peterson the Gay Robot Skeleton. I wish Craig had never retired from that show, and I'm so sorry he got bored with it! I DVR'd many episodes, and I watch The Jay Leno Fly's excellent compilations on CZcams.
Omg since when you DVR'd them? Bc there's another channel apart from the Jay Leno fly, it's called the late late show with Craig Ferguson archive and it uploads every episode she/him could DVR'd and also episodes that other people sent to him/her by email. It has almosy every episode since 2009 but it has just a few episodes of 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, so if you DVR'd some of them maybe you can send them to him/her.
@@ttacking_you Masturbating Bear, Coked Up Werewolf, Robot On A Toilet, Vomiting Kermit, Sears Tower In Sears Clothing, Little Jay Leno…. Oh boy the list goes on (18 seasons worth). ;)
@@wanabiyu8380 That would be so awesome to do, Frank. 2008 is when I started watching & the 3 years b4 that are the most sparse on the Archive channel.
Oh man... The chemistry between those two. I could listen to them for hours. It's like watching a world class tennis match how they play the ball back and forth.
I have to imagine it was his early appearances on Conan, in particular, that got him his late night show. He's just so....good. It's undeniable. He's immediately funny, charming, and a super on point conversationalist. I really miss Craig's late night show.... So glad there's SUCH a huge fandom for it now, so there's all these clips on CZcams that people saved over the years. Love that...
When I saw this video was being suggested to me I just thought "these two worlds collided and I missed it??" By far my two favourite late night show hosts ever. Could watch them for days.
I feel like the second interview is where people very high up realised he would eventually be one of the main choices for the Late Late show. He is on fire in that one ❤.
It's interesting to see the evolution of Conan's style. The early appearances are very much the standard talk show format of plug the project then make way for the next guest. The TBS one is more conversational. Which leads directly to _Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend_ and I'm really surprised Craig hasn't been on the podcast yet.
Getting these two together is like "Crossing the Streams" in Ghostbusters. It's fantastic, amazing, beautiful...and has the potential to end life on planet earth as we know it. These two are the funniest people in all of show business, and I really hope they like each other behind the scenes.
Craig is the Goat of late night shows He has similar style bill burr voice impressions , very quick , funny , charming and unique He makes his guests feel comfortable and enjoyable
@@aspectrum_ yes! He announced it on Twitter a few days ago. He's not returning with the same format, they said it's more like the soup, but it's Craig so i bet it's gonna be fun. You can see the article in his pinned tweet at his page
Note how Conan was more reserved when he first started out then evolved into Craig’s madcap style. Also I never knew Craig was so tall, Conan is 6’4” and usually towers over everyone. Turns out Craig is 6’2”
Conan often mentions how he had a rough start and had to tread carefully as everyone was critical of the new kid on the block. By TBS, he basically could go full send. Even moreso on the podcast.
For some reason i thought Craig developed his ''persona'' after years and years of working in show biz. But that could not be further from the truth. Its just Craig Ferguson, the insanely witty and charismatic funny guy.
I'm thinking that goes back to maybe an issue NBC had with David Letterman. Craig Ferguson was actually an employee of Mr. Letterman due to Dave owned the time slot that Craig's show was in, so CBS had no say in anything about Craig and his show. Due to Dave retiring also meant Craig's show had to end since that was part of the extra time slot deal. Craig's talked about it in a few podcasts
NBC already had Seth Meyers. They will promote internally. Especially after what happened with Conan. They got Jay out and installed Fallon before Jimmy could find another network.
I've always wondered if my 2 favorite talk show host were friendly with each other. Somehow I've missed all of these episodes, but now, finally, the time has come to see these 2 together. Much excite!! Craig really needs to go on Conan Needs A Friend.
You see the messy stage. The recognition and callout of the awkward silence. Both later to re-emerge out of that crazy, fertile mind of Craig Ferguson on his own show. Not a copy - a reimagination. These two are great together.
-I agree with you on Conan, but it is impossible to hold that opinion on both of them, since, at the time, you could pretty much only get to see one of them during the late night time slot- *that Michael Caine impression voided my statement*
22:07 :O The first ever awkard silence/pause! So bittersweet that Craig say's he'll be back in July and boom, 8 years later, there they were And wow the video really included even the ending segments! awesome I hope they meet again!!! and do the vaudville

Wow, that's brilliant! I had discovered Craig and Slipknot at the same time (December 2019) when I was extremely depressed and they helped me immensely. It's funny that I didn't know about this weird connection between these 2 up until now. Thank you 👍😊
Lol i just couldn't find the version of the full interview, which is weird, since team coco didn't upload it fully, instead they put it in two separate clips

Never understood why anyone liked Conan O’Brien. His fake laugh, grating voice, lack of comedy talent, he’s only slightly better than Fallon.
@@einstu honestly, i like Conan but it's true that sometimes i find him too much over the top. Craig has a perfect comedic timing.
