This DD is a future short list bote. Prolly in the dollar Christmas containers. Hard hard pass... but that captain however oh I have 26k dubs I'm sitting on and I'm getting him just for the voice over. He's going into my future tier 10 German battle cruiser

No improved AP angle. Use HE more. With the German HE pen, you will wreck DDS or lightly armored ships more than with AP, unless you have a flat broadside at a good range. Especially with only four barrels. A good example is at @11:45 vs the New Orleans

Unfortunately, since this ship is the unofficial replacement for the T-61, it will always be seen as inferior. But I actually quite enjoy it. I plays a lot different though and serves a different role. It's really good survivability just makes it very relaxing to play, went with fearless brawler as well and had a lot of successfull matches so far, just because it's very easy to surivive and impact the game. Also gotta admit, that I had pretty good matchmaking yesterday. The T5 and T6 cruisers are easy to citadel and this ship sees them quite a lot. You fire HE at everything angled to set fires and AP against everything that gives broadside. Torps are quite useful too, just to make some predictions were ships are heading while you shoot them, espceially if they are coming towards you.
I was getting results from just below 100k or a little above 100k with this ship a lot, so I don't know how it can't work for you. But I play DDs a whole lot, also not just gun boats.
T61 is way better but no longer available since WG correctly deemed it was bad for balance. Pass for me.

Thanks for doing this. I really had no other info on this ship and didn't know it it was worth my money. I am on a budget now and have to be more careful what ships I spend money on..if any.
The Karl Von Schonberg is a total black sheep premium ship. It truly is in a class of it’s own as no other DD in the game compares to it’s play style. The ship has no role. It cannot fill a DD role, and it cannot fill a light cruiser role either. The ship basically has no purpose other than cannon fodder, distracting the enemy, and stray damage. You do your own thing with this ship, completely independent of the team’s objectives. You see an opportunity, you just take it. Short attention span at full ahead full. It does not matter what it is. Short term goals are the only things to watch out for, as your objectives change constantly. Karl Von Schonberg is terrible for engaging DDs, and it’s primary targets are Cruisers, Battleships, and Aircraft Carriers.

(Stats: 71% WR PR: 2038 in KVS. Stats don’t mean shit for factual correctness, but I thought I’d drop them for those who are curious what my stats in the ship were. My outlook on the ship, I honestly enjoy it.)

This just seems like the case of If you have this ship (T-61 in this case), there is no reason to get the new one

The schonberg might be crappy in legends but in blitz it’s my favorite destroyer pelting New Mexico’s are always fun
I agree with what some of the other commenters have to say, sounds like the captain is the best part of the deal---better than BumbleBee or Megatron, I expect, although of course it's hard to beat the Mighty Admiral Jingles!

Now, after a few days have gone by, I can honestly say that I have not yet seen a single one of them in battle (EU, primetime). And I know why.
Sea Lord: to the best of your memory what is the most ridiculous thing you have bounced a yama shell with.
For example: i have bounced yama shells off the conning tower of azuma, also off the butt of my shima at extreme autobounce angles lol.
Even as a port queen, you could just have the Gaede, the free tech tree version that looks pretty much the same.

Sea Lord, why have you not gotten the Daring yet. Been waiting for ever for you to make a video on her. Hands down the Daring is the best DD in the game or very close to it. This ship will blow your mind, so let's get it done. LOL
I got it and I have had some fun with it. There are better, but I wouldn't say its bad.

they released this so they could take t-61 out of the shop. very simple answer. because T-61 is quite good ( used to be better) and the german lines canonly have a few "good" ships in total. the jury is still out on the Brandenburg

Gaede never lost her 150mm guns. It's rather Z-23 that lost her 150mm guns.
I’ll get the captain but even as someone who’s play style matches the German ships and I have almost all of them I think I’ll pass on this one.

T-61 was removed along with Z-39 in the same patch.

The captain is much more interesting than the ship.
A gunboat with 4 barrels and a 7 second reload? hard pass, some torp boats will outgun that with ease. Just another ship to pad the crate shortlists and "Ships in game" list

It's really disappointing having someone review a ship who doesn't understand the ship. Instead of releasing the review before knowing not just the stats, but how to make the most of playing the ship, why not wait until you have figured it out? What a shame.

Dont like the idea of this ship at all. What is the selling point? Nothing is great on it, pure mediocrity...stick to gaede or better t61.
