I absolutely LOVED Uncle Deadly and Miss Piggy's friendship in the 2015 show. It was surprisingly wholesome how as the show progressed and the characters grew, they became closer and actual friends rather than him just being her assistant and visibly exasperated with her.
I just found the muppet show from 2015 and deadly instantly became my favorite character. He's such a mood. I never remembered him from previous muppet shows or movies and tried to find what I could and here I stumbled upon this video. Thank you for that! Now I know where to see him. Hope they make more shows and highlight his character
Uncle Deadly is an awesome character. He should’ve been used in the later seasons of the Muppet Show, The Jim Henson Hour, Muppets Tonight. Plus also the movies like The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Capper, Muppets Take Manhattan (used more), The Muppets At Walt Disney World, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island (he could’ve been one of the Pirates), Muppets From Space, Muppets Wizard Of Oz and It’s A Very Muppet Christmas Movie.
Very nice rundown of the character. He's been one of my favorites, next to Crazy Harry. A small correction, though. In the haunted manor sketch, Vincent Price didn't own the mansion they were in, he arrived there the same as Fozzy and Gonzo, just a little later on. (At least, nothing in the dialogue hinted that he owned the mansion.). When they had the Muppets on Holey Moley this season, I think he was still acting as Piggy's assistant when she showed up
Correction: Richard Hunt played Statler. Jerry performed characters like Floyd, Lew Zealand and Robin the Frog. Yes, Robin and Deadly are played by the same guy.
Love this so keep up the good work. Deadly is very British in his demeanour (yes I’m a Brit) which made me instantly like his character in the Muppet movie. Was a shame he only had a cameo in the follow up movie.
I actually watched this video because I just bought my copy of "Muppets Meet the Classics: Phantom of the Opera" and wanted the history of Uncle Deadly before I started!

My favourite muppet! and he is based on a Church Gargoyle. Him and The Count Von Count were the best! It is nice that they haven't forgotten him! Also, I am ALL FOR A MUPPET PHANTOM OF THE OPERA! I am also glad you didn't make Miss Piggy Christine - to be honest - even as a kid I didn't like Miss Piggy. Use the music from the Opera I am sure that Andrew Loyd Webber would approve!
I am the Phantom of the Muppet Show! I've loved Uncle Deadly from the first time I saw him (and he is pre-Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom). I loved him in Muppets series as Miss Piggy's dresser and would love to see more of him. Pepe is another favorite Muppet of mine.

When it comes to taking over Jerry Nelson's characters, I think Matt Vogel has done the best job with Uncle Deadly.
