And let's not forget the rematch at the end of the game! GOATED Fight!

The fact that Thor doesn’t really start crutching on his abilities until the second fight really goes to show that Thor ain’t afraid of straight boxing.
Kratos was mad holding back for the whole fight, and Thor could tell, thats why when he hit Thor with that right hook Thor new he had won. He wasn’t trying to kill him (thats why he bought him back), he just wanted to fuck up Kratos’ streak of being chill and make him ashamed of himself for letting himself feel those emotions again.

Throughout god of war Thor was relegated to being nothing more than Odin’s attack dog. The Jotun dont want to give up their secrets? Sic thor on them and have him singlehandedly drive them to extinction. Kratos getting in your way? Have thor beat his ass. Loki needs help finding the mask? Let thor kill everything in his path while Loki finds it.
During round 2 it was more Kratos motivating Thor to finally stand up for himself against his father and prove hes more than just Odin’s muscle, that he can *be better* .

I think my biggest problem is that Kratos is canonically the same height as Thor, give or take a few inches. I'm pretty sure Thor is 7'4" while Kratos is 7'1". They reduced Kratos down to 6"2' in GoW 2018 so that it would be easier to animate Christopher Judges movements, but they still haven't gotten anything right. For example, Freya is 5'6", yet often times when she and Kratos stand next to each other they are the same height. I know this sounds like a dumb complaint, but I'm just a GoW nerd
