I have a Chinese 2017 Chestnut Brown on my front porch, four blades installed, and a Hotel light kit. Fan is on a variable speed control and the light is linked with my other porch and garage door-flanking lights on a dimmer. When I installed it I couldn’t find a decent USA made one, so I spent a fortune on a brand new one. It’s in a very harsh environment. I give it a yearly deep clean, but that’s all. In Central Texas it has been coated in snow, ice, constant winter wind facing north, three twisters that did significant damage, extreme heat/dirt/dust/ heavy use, and the fan has never wavered. The blades aren’t as nice as genuine oak or pecan, but they also don’t split apart like those do. I was reluctant as hell to drop nearly a grand on that install, but Hunter didn’t give up any quality on these newer ones. It truly performs like new. My 1985 on the back porch does really well, but the pecan blades are starting to warp and split in places. It was installed in 2017 as well, but lived indoors up until that point. Originals are incredible machines.
"44 20" means this fan was made on the 44th week of 2020. The version of the overseas Original you have here is the post-2015 Original, which marks the best era for the overseas Originals as it has the long 4" main bearing shaft and the wires are ran back on top of the motor housing.
