I like going to farm shows that way I can see what the future used machines look like and might be able to afford 15 to 20 years from now
That planter for "older smaller" tractors is a growing trend. Many new homesteaders out there (due to youtube) with small acreage makes that a perfect fit. Get your father to locate a 7000 JD planter and he'll find a lot of aftermarket upgrades and youtube videos showing the additions -- you'll get useful content out of it too.
Highly recommend a JCB skid steer. My co-op went from a Cat to the JCB and everyone loves it. Time will tell how it holds up but it’s a great machine. Love the side door especially, one of the best features that nobody else has.
We have removed adblue of our tractors, it is so worth it.

Mother Deere wasn’t at Husker harvest days in Nebraska this year. Many rumors around lot prices since Farm progress bought the show. HHD we heard was the profit making show.

Having lived about 60 miles from Lexington, NE I had the privilege of meeting and talking to Henry Orthman the founder of the company which bears his name. He was a very nice man. I had always hoped it would remain a central Nebraska owned company but I guess time marches on. I hope Unverferth maintains the high quality standards and innovation that Orthman Mfg. is known for.
Unverferth is a good family owned brand with quality and service second to none so I’m sure they will carry that over

When I was working yet we used New Holland skid seers, they were great.
Hope you're there next year. Couldn't make it this year, first time in 15yrs getting old and medical issues sucks
We are going to a nexat system as soon as they are available.
I've never been to a farm show. It would be kinda cool. Went to plenty of farm auctions. I still remember the day we got 100 albino rabits. We tried for maybe 6 months with them. Then someone said let's release them in the 24 Acres of woods in our backyard. Has a river, creek and two ponds back there. We thought a few would probably be eaten and maybe 3/4 would survive. Long story short. I have no idea what lives in those woods but the next morning it was a blood bath. Rabbit parts everywhere. I made sure to always bring a rifle when going fishing back there after that.
Praxidyn seems to be a nice system. Quite a bit of content about it on C the CSs channel. And because I love spending your money go with the JCB, boom.

NFMS 🚜 first-timer , massive show with a lot of different manufacturer that a didn't know existed. A lot of great products!
*The only thing I didn't like was the food, price and the long lines!
** I've been noticing a lot of people been posting that they've gotten sick after the show!!

Look at new Holland skid steers, in the past they had harness issues but they’ve been corrected now. Personally I really like their cabs and controls

I thought it was odd that Massey brought a tractor primarily focused on a loader attachment…without a loader attachment on it,lol 🤔🤔🤔
If you start seriously looking at Massey S series tractors look at a 6s with a cvt. I think with your fendt tractors you will enjoy the VT in the 6s more. I was out at hesston a few weeks ago and got to drive a new 6s.180 dyna 6 and a 6s.180vt. Cvt is more money but it's far nicer to operate.
If Bob is serious about planting corn the old fashioned way, just send him an hour and a half due east this planting season. Last year we put out 60-some acres with a 4 row wide 7000 planter pulled by a 4020. Plan on doing the same this year.

JCB appear to be a safer machine. Good with younger operators in mind.

when i was a kid in the late 60s the neighbor bought a new 5020 John Deere and we thought my God that is huge now that little Massey you were looking at has 5 more HP than that 5020 , my how things change

Traded a new holland skid steer for the 3ts jcb. Have had it for 600 hours would never go back to a dual arm unit, visibility is unmatched. Another thing is you don’t realize how handy the extra reach is until you have it!
Does it have plenty of power and hydraulic flow
In low range it’s very good basically like driving a mini bulldozer, high range it definitely lacks alittle hydraulic pressure and power but it’s a tracked unit so they definitely take more power then wheels. We knew that when we purchased it but was willing to sacrifice that to have no def or as you guys call it “government juice”
You should try a Kubota skid steer you can get out with door open and loader up

Started going to NFMS back 1976 , the many different styles of farming and the ppl you meet always lot of fun. Has improved over the years and the pulls are impressive.

John Deere 333G best skid steer on the market right now
I run wheel loaders loading sand and gravel into dump trucks. I despise loaders the don't have steering wheels. Very sensitive and sways side to side terribly (worse on radial tires). Makes a guy really nervous when ya have 10-13 tons in the bucket...
You don’t dig with a teleboom. I’ve seen regular booms on skid loaders bet bent. The JCB boom would have to be really serious before I’d look at it.

Brown family I hope these train derailment with dangerous chemicals have not impacted your family's and friends lives
The Browns live south of Columbus (south central area) & the derailment is on our border(PA) North-east near Pittsburgh. The wind blows west to east, which is why PA is so concerned about the exact same chemical warfare toxins banned after WW1 being released by the fire. It’s a heavy gas, it sinks & suffocates you. The Ohio river though provides drinking water to several states. If you’ve seen footage, ppl throw rocks into the streams & toxins raise to the top. Looks like those toxins are heavy too, sinking to the bottom. It’s a major disaster all around.
It will impact a lot of people. Cincinnati & Kenton county ky. Have shut their water inlets off
@@jjseibert absolutely. The scariest thing is that it sinks to the bottom. The impact on wells would be tragic which is exactly why we can’t let them hush this up
