- HELLO FRIENDS!! So I saw this insane Airbnb on Instagram and I knew we were gonna have to try it out ourselves… It was huge and suspended 35 feet in the air (!!) and actually breathtaking 🌲 Some things we did not mentally prepare for was just how high up the pinecone would be, and how much it would move in the wind. Even though some parts of the stay were a bit intense, overall it was such a cool stay and the swaying was actually a pro at night, as it rocked me right to sleep!! Which weird airbnb should we put to the instagram vs reality test next?? 🤔

I love the idea of snuggling up inside a swaying pinecone like a tiny mouse fairy. Now, what I do not love is the ladder. Somehow the ladder is scarier than the invisible strings the whole construction hangs on.
I would get up the ladder but never be able to get down again. Ladders are so scary!
I'll just live vicariously through the video 😅
What is a mouse fairy?
That ladder looks horrendous, it reminds me of witches’ stairs. Just give it a normal ladder or normal stairs instead and it’d be way less scary.

Go to the Shrek swamp b and b. There's also a hotel in Sweden where the hotel rooms are individual pods scattered around the 40 acre woods, and the dining room is in a barn.

This is a significantly better use of airbnb than their actual business model. I want to pay to stay in dubiously safe homemade contraptions that passed no kind of inspection whatsoever proving their livability, and I mean that genuinely. More people should let me pay them money to sleep in the treehouse in their backyard.
I know a guy in CT who has 2 room tree house with stairs and a patio... the top floor has a seller door that can drop you down to bottom room. There is a fire pit too. No outdoor bathroom though.

I was thinking it would be nice to have a chamber pot and a water bowl up there... But with all the swaying, now I'm not so sure. 😅

Once my family and I stayed in an airbnb that was a treehouse in the backyard of a regular house. Inside the treehouse was a photo book about how the treehouse was built for a little boy with a terminal illness as his make-a-wish item, with lots of pictures of the boy and his family. My family got really sad and conflicted thinking about this little boy dying and his wish being used for strangers to sleep in.
One weird thing about this treehouse airbnb was that it didn’t have a bathroom so we had to let ourselves into the main house to use theirs. On my way back from brushing my teeth I happened to glance in one of the windows I passed on the way back to the treehouse and sitting at the computer playing a video game was that make-a-wish boy! He was several years older than the pictures in the book but it was definitely him. My family was very relieved to find out he hadn’t actually died.

The ladder is a nightmare as I have fear of heights. Also looks uncomfortable to climb and go down.
The rocking would not help me but make it worse as I get motion sickness😢

Does it have functioning windows tho? Or is the only airflow from the floor door? That would make it claustrophobic for me, with the knowledge I can't get out of it quickly (The underwater hotel video was a rollercoaster of emotions for me ngl) and I don't suppose it has AC or heating up there.

This is so cool. I live in the bay area part of California. They considered Santa Cruz like the very farthest end of the Bay Area for South Bay but I don't think that Santa Cruz should be part of South Bay and the bay area. Anyways that's pretty cool that you did that but I would never do it because I'm super duper afraid of heights. I'm glad you had fun and thanks for the short video.

This place looks amazing for creative writing tbh. But I would just tie a rope to the ladder and slide down it if I needed to use the bathroom at night LOL till, it's weird to me that there aren't any ropes attached to nearby trees to keep you secure while you climb the ladder. It's begging for accidents.
