I've been having a lot of fun with the G2 Nano lately and thought I should share some of these new techniques with everyone and review the standards while I'm at it.
As you can tell, I love the new Swedish Fire Torch pre-fueling method! It provides such nice consistent cooking temperatures for long periods of time without the need to tend the fire. Convenient and effective!
Thanks for watching!
My Nano and X case arrived today. I was already impressed by my Firebox, I have got to say the Nano is super impressive. Hats off to you guys. Struggled a bit with my fist attempt at a stick fire, but once you've got it down it's as easy as it gets. I was really surprised at how fast it cools down too.
A big thanks to the guy's at The Bath Bushcraft Shop for getting it to me so fast, and to Firebox for another great product.
That is great to hear, so glad you received your stove well and are impressed with it! Glad to also hear that you figured out the stick fire. Thank you for your support and business and have fun out there!
40 yrs of wilderness camping , typical set up a base camp travel 1/2 day and day trips from there , this makes shore lunch options much lighter . Very excited,
That is great, I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for the comment and support.
You might want to remove the O ring, rubber gasket, which ever is on your alcohol stove first before using the cap as a stand.
Saw a video of a guy using the pot handle flame guard at the bottom of the stove. He wanted to feed wood sticks under the stove, in addition to the two side ports, for longer burn time, slightly less wood attention needed. The plate was used as a wood stop guard, so as to not over feed sticks pushing them outside the stove.
Excellent job on the Firebox Nano. Really complete.
Many thanks!
This video is perfect for sharing with folks you are trying to explain the Firebox Nano to. Great demo video, Steve!
Thank you Michael, I appreciate that!!
When I get paid this Friday, I’m going to purchase the nano g2 stainless kit with a trangia alcohol stove and a few other accessories. The products look well built and a lot of thought put into them.
Thank you! I hope you get lots of chances to get out and have fun with your new Firebox gear! 👍
Firebox Stove I plan to. I used the canister style stove last year and had the burner go out shortly into my trip. So I looked into alternative stoves and found your guys stoves and the versatility of the g2 looks right up my alley. I was solely dependent on that canister stove for that trip. So I figured I need to have more than one option.
How's it going? Any updates/reviews?
Wow! The Nano rocks!
I tried frying some bacon and eggs on the Nano today and it was very nice!
I used the 8" Ultra cook kit and side fed the Nano with some small sticks.
So easy to control the heat to perfection and if you season your pans and use oil, butter or some fat the food never sticks.
I used a total of 6 sticks(!) lying on the ground (and some dry leaves and twigs to get the fire started). Very fuel efficient!
This stove is awesome, thank you Steve!
That is awesome to hear Sven, thank you for the feedback. So glad you are out enjoying your Nano. We hope you make many more great meals on it. Have fun out there!
A superb piece of kit… brilliantly designed and manufactured with quality materials…. Just love my nano…
Well done you guys..
Thank you Ross I'm so glad you're enjoying your Firebox Nano👍😎
Designed with practical sense by someone who truly knows what hikers need! Love my nano. Looking into the new metal case currently.
Thanks for the kind words!
Just pre-ordered my X-Case! Keep up the great work!
You know, I'm an old guy on Social Security who used to back pack and have done disaster relief work [So preparedness matters]. If I can ever pull it off, I plan to but some of your stuff. Wether I use it or not... Anyway, worked for 29.5 years in a factory primarily punching 24 gauge steel and in the machine shop... ran the place for a while. IF I could have been 26 instead of 66 and still had those experiences, I'd have been asking if I could work for you, assuming a US plant... That is, enjoying the videos! PS. Your videos and engineering level qualify as "Aspie Friendly!"
That's awesome you have those experiences Joseph, I'm sure amazing memories were made by all. We are working on manufacturing fully here in Utah but aren't there yet. Hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Well done! If you seen my adventures with the Firebox you know it's my go to stove and pretty much love it's many ways to heat food. By that I mean: charcoal, coal, propane, alcohol and wood. Note or constructive thought. The opinions that come with and through Firebox/Steve are well worth having with one exception, the small stainless gripers. Why I don't care for them, they are thin and to flexable which makes them less than impressive to use. Hope you find this useful. Take care and thank you for a great product for the outdoorsmen/Back Country Horsemen of Pisgah.
Thank you Tom your feedback is always appreciated. Those lightweight tongs are made for picking up hot coals and not much more. Super lightweight comes at a compromise.
if a stranger's opinion matters, i would suggest that the V bend on the feet holding up the box also be used on the top to hold the box firmly in place and keep the feet from sliding up and down. without them i found it to be fairly easily tipped bc the box will slide up the 2 feet opposite of the tipping direction. id really like to see this safety mod but im also well aware that im probably the only one that has this concern bc it seems no one else has pointed this out or had an issue with it, at least in my general perusing on youtube. even so, i cant wait to try it out next weekend, and i hope to get many years of use and relaxation from this little stove.
Thank you for your feedback. In my experience, The movement which you refer to only happens under weight considerably heavier than what Nano was intended for.
@@fireboxstove if pulled horizontally off the stove it will do it. i do believe this shouldn't be much when leaning over it and taking things on and off more vertically, but if its on a picnic table or something where you may be more prone to slide it off more then lifting it its fairly easy. like when i tried it sitting at my pc desk. no little elbows allows for the possibility but ultimately its the misuse by the user (me) that allows it to go beyond a possibility.
Thank you Carl I appreciate you taking the time, You've got the wheels turning 👍😎
Great stove Steve. Thanks for sharing all your ideas. I will try a Swedish torch in mine soon.
Sandy
PS good battoning.
+Wiltshire Man Thanks Sandy! Loving my knife!
Firebox Stove what knife you got, I’m a big collector, just got the bark river gunny in 3v and it is outstanding!!! Highly recommend it for out doors
I just used my nano on an solo over night hammock camp and it worked great. Cooked dinner and kept it stoked for hours as a little fire pit. Just sat next to it and enjoyed the glow. I really like the nano for light packing trips and I use the full size firebox all the time at home and when camping with the trailer. The full size makes a great fire pit with big flames for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs with the kids. Now I just need to bake something in the zebra pot, maybe I will this weekend. Great products, keep it up.
+sameold77 Thanks so much! I'm so glad to hear about the fun you're having with your Firebox Stoves! You'll have fun baking in the Zebra pot, please let me know how it goes.
Brilliant, just brilliant. I got the X-Case version and use it with gas, wood and alcohol. So versatile and discreet. Love it.
Awesome Mick! I love hearing from happy customers 👍😎
Hi Steve, I bought a Firebox Nano three years ago. Its the best and most versatile stove ever! I've used it with gas, spirit and of course wood, It's with me when ever I go out for the day, of for multi day hikes. I used it last summer to walk the Coast to Coast here in Great Britain. I've also got its big brother that I use when out in the woods, I've even used it as an overnight fire under my tarp when hammock camping. It went out of course, but certainly took the chill off the air under the tarp.
I would highly recommend it over any other small wood stove, especially those multi piece " jigsaws" some people use! Thank you for your hard work designing and developing these stoves.
Thank you so much for the kind words and continued support, really means a lot to me. I am glad you have had the experience of getting out with your stoves and making memories like that. Sounds amazing to go from Coast to Coast like that in Great Britain. Thank you for the feedback, Cheers to you!
Just received mine (X-case kit & Ti stove). LOVE IT! I had a lot of questions and Roshelle was amazing with her responses! Great product and awesome customer service. Went with this because I was tired of fumbling around and trying to put the Emberlit Ti stove together. THIS IS MUCH BETTER!
Got my Nano gen 2 today!! It's now in my bug out bag in my car nestled with my Pocket Rocket 2! I believe in having a cannister stove as well as a biofuel stove in the same bag and the Nano fit the bill perfect! Takes up almost zero space!!!
About $800.00 later I cannot for the life of me remember how I ever heard of these products! Glad I did! ✌
Thank you for your support Jay!
I have the Gen2 5" Firebox with all the accessories & the 16cm Zebra pot with the Baking Kit set up. All I still need to get is the Trangia Butane Stove. Planning to get that soon. This whole set up is amazing & really works greatI didn't think I'd need the Nano Set, but watching your video here, I'm thinking it would complete my camp kitchen set up. I'm partial to Stainless Steel. My son however is a fan of Titanium for backpacking. Looks like I'll be doing more shopping at firebox.com. Thanks for the great customer service too.
Opps, that's fireboxstove.com! Thanks so much much! I really appreciate the support I'm so glad to hear that you're having fun with my gear!
A must have for any serious camper or prepper, awesome!
Thank you very much!! 😁
I know they would be very short, but would the Swedish torch work with the fire grate, so I wouldn't have to worry about burning the ground?
I adore my full size firebox. Recommend it to all my friends. Especially now that it's available in Canada, and I don't have to pay almost double the price on duty and taxes. 😥
Wow Steve, I can’t believe it’s been 7 years. 🎉 here’s to many more years of success and good health to you and yours.
Justin
Thank you Justin, time sure has flown by and I'm so thankful for our successes. Cheers to you!
That’s my next Firebox purchase 👍
Thanks for the support!
I have everything minus the leather pouch and the trangia canister stove, and I have to say all of your products are built rock solid and are great tools that provide the best versatility of any product in this category out there. Thanks for your hard work and innovation.
+Preston Gladd Thanks for your nice endorsement Preston! I'm glad your happy with the Nano!
You’re my favorite inventor, Steve. 😊
I even love your video demonstrations! 🤩
Very thorough & very impressive.👏🏼
Looking forward to seeing what comes next! 👌🏼
Keep up the great work! 💪🏼
Cheers!! ✊🏼🎉
Thank you very much for the kind words I appreciate your support and encouragement 🙏
Great instructional Steve. Enjoyable, entertaining, and very informative from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing! I love that little stove!
+Feral Woodcraft Thanks Joe! My last instructional video was so dry I thought I would try to make this one move along a little better. Cheers!
Simply genius, thank you so much.
Thank you for watching and commenting James, it is appreciated!!
Just got mine in the mail yesterday. It seems so solid! Going to Red Castle this weekend and I'll be using it. Always glad to support a fellow Utahn!
We love our Nano ! Very High Quality! Thanks Steve
Thank you strpl2!
Fantastic vid Steve. You bring it all home with this presentation and still learned a couple tips I hadn't considered before. Like the natural charcoal trick and the adjustable grill option for micro grilling.
+Canesser Thanks Clint!
What a very very well thought out stove... Thanks so much for the video.
Thank you Billy, we are glad you enjoyed it!
Love your well engineered products. You have inspired me to take my kids camping and fishing. God bless
That is great to hear!! I hope you guys have a blast out there, thank you for watching!
Great video. Definitely getting one of these. I’ve just noticed another great feature of this design, there’s enough room to put a tea light under
The stove to warm the fuel in a Trangia . I’ve always had problems lighting mine in freezing temperatures, but warming the Trangia from the
Bottom makes it easy to light.
Thanks for sharing The KitOwl.
See now we`re talking!
We reviewed the kelly kettle on our channel not too long ago and it is useless when it comes to food preping.
This looks like a smarter solution by far, we have also had the FireAnt from Emberlit for awhile now and tested it, and we will do a review on that soon but this looks smarter to be honest and solves some of the problems we have with stoves being on the ground, stability and warmth being and issue every time.
We might have to pick one of these up, good video Steve :)
Snake
+Fire and Steel Thanks so much Snake!
I just purchased one of these stoves. I cannot wait to use it this spring.
Thanks for your support 🙏 I hope you get lots of chances to get out and have fun with it!
Love my Nano but I only use a small cup on top causing the legs to be turned in. This causes some stability issues. The X box provided extra stability but added bulk. I just ordered the overkill kit, I'll be able to turn the legs outward and the cup support inward and have the best of both worlds. Thank you for both stoves and continuing to improve the user ability and accessories. Love my 5" TI.
Looks like a nice piece of gear. I love how small and simple it is, too!
Thanks Ryan!
Incredible engineering. Nice.
Thank you for the kind words, it is appreciated.
I’m waiting for my nano Steve! I’m super psyched to try it! That Swedish fire trick - slick!!!
That's awesome! You'll have to let me know how your first burn goes on it. The swedish fire torch works really well with the Nano! Thanks for watching, Cheers!
I would love a small grill plate to go with it really would, I know the stove it's only small but still could BBQ a couple sausages for a quick sandwich like 😎🖤👍
We have those on our website. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback 👍😎🙏
Mine arrived today. I can’t wait to use it!
Awesome! Thanks Donnie!
Pure genius! Mine is on order today! Thank you
Thank you Jim I hope you get lots of chances to get out and enjoy your new Firebox Nano Stove👍 thank you so much 🙏😎
Awesome video, I forgot how my wind break worked, this helped. I just bought a trangia gas burner. not cheap they are got one off e bay for like $90 canadian
I am using my firebox nano ti on an upcoming 5 night 6 day canoe trip, in Algonquin Park Ontario Canada.
That should be awesome! Thanks for watching, you will have to let me know how it works for you. Cheers!
I love my little nano stove, thanks for making this useful video. I have a question, is X case ok to use as a base when using the Swedish torch method? As in can it stand up to the direct heat?
Yes, absolutely👍😎 light coat of oil after will keep the surface protected 👍😎
@@fireboxstove Thanks, a great bit of advise. I have a video of me using the firebox nano here across the pond dropping Friday if your interested in watching. I plan on making some more using the nano as it’s a great little stove.
That's an excellent video. Your products also seem very well designed and built. Thank-you.
Thank you Larry Manuel, I appreciate that.
Thank you for this video quality is amazing and love how your explain everything in video detail!!
Thank you for watching, we are glad you found the explanation helpful in this video!!
And don’t whatever you do is put the extended grill plate over the gas burner it will warp.
You don't want the grill plates being applied to the stove or fire without meat immediately following that. The meat pulls the heat out of the grill plate so they do not warp. Same thing goes for when the meat is done, you want to immediately move the plate off the stove. Let us know if you have any other questions.
@@fireboxstove somI discovered!✌
fantastic piece of gear you have here! I'll be picking one up! bravo!
Thanks Misha!
Do You take the gasket out of the burner lid ? I have a home made burner ( loohs like it was made out of a 7.5 drink can ) . Burner only has one jet in the top ( about 1/2 " ) . Works great , even on top of the solid fuel plate of the nano
stove .
I have seen the windshield, but would love to see strong wind solutions. I live in the Cape in South Africa and throughout spring and early Summer (prime outdoor time) we get terrible wind but this option intrigues me as a low weight low space option for bikepacking. (Which itself isn't made easier by the head wind!)
I think I think the Nano in conjunction with the taller windscreen would give you wrap around full protection. You would probably still want to get behind a rock or wall or tree but I think you would have pretty good success with that combination. 😎👍
@@fireboxstove hey wow! Thank you for taking the time to respond! Those are good tips! If all else fails could even use the bike as a windscreen!
Amazing!
Thank you so much!
Hi took delivery of my Nano X, late today. looking forward to trying it out. I can see it is very well engineered. But whats freaking me out is the shape. Its not square. My O.C.D kicked in. Even though I know it will work well. Is there a reason for this to pacify my anxiety? I am sure there must be.
Love all the videos. I purchased the Nano to use whilst backpacking.
Will probably purchase it's big brother for car camping
Got my Ti Nano today. Amazing quality Steve, thank you. Do you recommend using a coat of oil between uses on titanium like SS? Also, is it safe to use the 3M red scotch brite pad on titanium? Thank you again for the great product and service, super impressed.
Thank you for your support and business Dan, we are so glad you are happy with your Firebox gear. You do not need to oil the Ti like you do the SS besides a light coat on the hinges here and there. You can use the red scotch brite on the Ti Stove as well. Let us know if you ever need anything else and thanks again!
Hi steve, I love this video. Have watched it a few times, very good information for my nano. thanks for doing what you do so well...
I know it's a bit dry. I hope to do a field version soon!
terrific video, my friend. I absolutely love my Nano
+Lellobeetle I'm so glad! Thanks!
Excellent design! This looks to be a great product.
Bill
+Pirate Labs Thanks so much!
Just got mine today and can’t wait to use it.
The fire grate comes in contact with the walls of the stove about a half inch above its final position, requiring me to give it a good little tap to get it down/up. Is it possible for me to file those edges down to eliminate this? Small gripe I know, I’m just now jealous seeing videos where it drops right in to place.
The fit is easily adjusted by inserting your fingers into the holes when the fire grate is all the way down then pulling back towards the hinge. Give it a little pressure then check the fit... repeat until you get it how you want it.👍😎
@@fireboxstove Glad I asked and Thanks Steve! It’s a smooth operator now. I couldn’t do it with my fingers so I ran some cordage through it to get leverage. I wouldn’t have felt comfortable applying that much force without your instruction but it worked and I now have an appreciation for how tough this little guy is.
Good
what happened to the instructional video for the titanium firebox 5 inch?
I don't know if there was specifically an instructional video because most of the instructions are the same as the 5-in firebox there is however this video which is both promotional and informative. czcams.com/video/XJtkXMIa3EM/video.html
Where are the holes in the carbon windscreen for the legs I can't find them anywhere on mine
If you go the the listing here: fireboxstove.com/product/carbon-felt-for-x-case/ we have included the instructions and a video on how to use the carbon felt and l-pins. Let us know if you need anything from here. 😁
Just ordered one. Looking forward to using it. I’ve had many stoves, including white gas and canisters, but I like knowing I will never run out fuel in any season, or conditions. I’ve seen every review. Good product. Any plans to manufacture a ‘medium’ sized 4” stove?
We do have something in the works for a 4 inch stove
Looks like a very well thought out product. I love testing and using different camp stoves. I still haven't found the perfect one. I'm thinking firebox might be the holy grail of camp stoves. I will have to get a couple for myself to test out. Do you ship to Australia?
Yes we do ship to AU and we also have dealers here:www.fireboxstove.com/Dealer. Let me know what you think when you get the chance to try one out. Thanks!!
nice! very instructive!
Hi!
Looks really nice and good instructions, just wonder, and it is just a suggestion, about the "grill" pad.
Would it be possible to use the short pins (used for the trangia) "u"-part to lock it in the holes diagonally as just placing it on the "legs" seems hazardous... :) Think it will work, as it then can only slide some diagonally, I suppose *smile*
Very nice stove and the multiple uses is more than most I've seen!
+Eie Noren The way I figure it is that the Nano is so small and light that anchoring the grill would be pointless since it will be nessicary to hold the grill with pliers (or similar) any time you're using a spatula to turn your food anchored or not.
+FireboxStove Good thought, I can see that it might be an issue, but if they are "locked" you have (when using the plier-ish similar whatever) control of both stove and grill as it is very light.
Ah, I think I am a wood stove hoarder... have a lot not even used yet and still thinking I should buy this *smile* this mite have some reference to that I am really a sucker for good technical solutions.
Thanks for the answer and I have to look for a supplier in Sweden or Europe.
BTW happy easter
Recently purchased the nano kit, awesome stove, how do you put the L pins in the carbon felt to make it into wind screen. Are there hole or slots in the felt I'm not seeing or should I cut my own. Sorry for dumb question. Thanks.
Yes, you will need to make the holes initially. Put your fingers on both sides so you center the pin as you go. Once your hole is established The l pens will follow the existing holes.
Thank you. I think I got it now.
I would like to use wood pellets in the Nano. What's the best option at this time for being able to do that?
nice video it's one my wishlist
+henk Schutte (bos tukker) Thanks Henk! Send me an email when you're ready and I'll give you a good deal
Awesome stove. Can you use with a stainless water bottle? Seems like the pot rest pegs wouldn't be stable enough.
Curtis Layton yes, it works with the stainless steel water bottle. The legs are actually a lot stronger than they look as they are made of spring tempered stainless steel.
Great to know and thx for the reply! Though, I wasn't really worried about the legs being strong enough as much as its hard to visualize a tall bottle balancing on the little swiveling pegs very well. On the reg. firebox you've got this great attachment: goo.gl/images/Kh4uxi . Got any pics/video of using the nano with a bottle?
How can I buy just the fuel plate? I just ordered a Gen 2 Nano kit on Amazon, but I don't think it includes a fuel plate?
You can find the fuel plate here: fireboxstove.com/product/nano-fuel-plate/. Thanks so much!
Does the titanium version of the Nana have any disadvantages (other than cost) when compared with the stainless steel version? For example, does the titanium version require any special handling, or does it not hold up as well? Can I use charcoal for grilling if desired with the titanium version?
Sorry for the slow reply... The titanium version does not have any disadvantages versus the stainless steel it's lighter weight, it cools down faster, is more corrosion resistant and would work just fine with charcoal 👍🙏😎
Steve I have a question. When you set the stove is it supposed to be square or does it matter. I just set mine up and it was off square. Is that the design? Great demonstration
Yes it has to be off square in order to fold up. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Steve, will the Nano accommodate the Toaks Titanium Siphon Alcohol Stove?
I've got both nano and bigger one and have only one question. the evernew alcohol stove fits kinda loose. and haven't tried it sitting on the floor. is there anothre work around to bring the height up to the sweet spot??
With the Nano I would use the ever-new on the floor of the burn chamber. With the 5-inch Firebox I would use the adjustable fire grate to bring the height up.
Im wondering if the trangia x2 multifuel or the similar primus omnilite ti with trangia adapter will work with this? The only thing i dont see that wont fit is a hole for the spindle value by the burner in both of the stoves that ive mentioned.
That's the difference between those and the gas burner adapter is the adjustment valve is at the bottle rather than the burner.
One question: will it hold a 12 inch Cast Iron Skillet?
It has the strength to hold a 12-in cast iron skillet but it doesn't make sense from a heat output standpoint. If you need to cook with a 12-in cast iron skillet get One of the larger firebox stoves especially if you're planning on burning wood.
@@fireboxstove how about a 10 inch Cast Iron Skillet? I am also taking in consideration the weight of the Skillet. I do have both 8 and 6 inch Cast Irons too.
I just ordered the gen 2 nano with Xbox and carbon felt...waiting for delivery
Awesome! Hope you get plenty of chances to have fun with it! Thanks 😊
Hey Steve, so I have a question about the legs and stability. It seems a little high compared to its width. Is there any reason you made the Bottom legs so tall? Wouldn't it have been better to make them shorter?
Stability is super important to me, and I have to say I'm torn between this stove, which I think performs better, or another brand, which doesn't perform so well, but is much more stable.
The leg height is important to provide the correct entry angle of the side fed fuel/sticks. This creates an upwards angle which is important to the flow dynamics of the stove.
The stove is quite stable even with the legs turned inwards for a small pot but even more so with a large pot and having the legs turned outwards. The stove is that much more stable if you get the x- case. Thanks for watching Jim!
Firebox Stove Thanks, yes, that's a good point. I'm very familiar with the 5", so I understand.
I'll almost for sure pick one up, with the case this winter or spring. I know it looks wobbly and weak, but I trust your company. You do way too much product research to make it wrong.
I just received the Nano firebox and I noticed two L shaped sticks inside the X case. What are those for? Thanks!
Thanks for asking, here's a link, watch the video at the bottom of the page:
www.fireboxstove.com/nano-combo-kit?keyword=X-case
Hi Steve,
What do you use to oil your FireboxStoves ? Would
Coconut oil be ok ? Or olive oil etc . MERRY CHRISTMAS! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS!
I use whatever oil or fat is available at the time. If you're going to have it in storage for a while you want to use coconut oil mineral oil or extra virgin olive oil so that it does not go rancid.
Merry Christmas, Dave!
THANK YOU! GOD BLESS!
Hey Steve, will the adjustable fire grate fit in the linen sleeve with the Firebox Nano?
William Burr no. I'm sorry it will not.
Hi Steve
can you explain the reason why the firebox gen 5 and Nano Gen2 have asymmetrical angles ?
Thank you Steve from Alex from Germany Bavaria
If you watch it as you are folding it you will see that two sides need to be shorter in order to fit inside the other two sides as it closes like a book. It's part of the folding mechanism but it's also part of how the design works. By having tapered sides creates opportunities for versatility.
@@fireboxstove thank you very much and have nice eastern
it was no critic - I own the Gen 5 and the nano 2 Ti and i am Happy with them
That is so great to hear, thank you for the feedback!
Hi Steve, sorry if this is covered somewhere but what's the difference between the v.1 & v.2 nanos?
It is the holes for the Nano sticks. I show in a video how to drill through all four panels if you need to convert yours. Thanks for watching!
Hello Steve. I am gonna be purchasing the Gen2 3" Nano Ultralight Stove kit that comes with the fireplate, flame shield, and the black case. I want to also purchase the 6x6 carbon felt but would like to know if it fits in the black case easily. I plan on using these for a backpacking/fishing trip in upstate NY.
Thanks Anthony, here's a discount code: foundersd
The 6 x 6 carbon felt does not fit into the black does not fit into the black case with the stove.
Hi Steve. I'm ready to order my Firebox Stove kit but I don't see where to enter the discount code you gave me when i try to checkout.
Anthony Gregorio the discount or coupon code needs to be entered while you are in the shopping cart.
Thank you Steve. That worked. Can't wait to use it in the Catskills. Maybe one day I can get out to Utah. Looks incredible out there!
Does the pathfinder alcohol burner fit inside the firebox nano, and if so how well does it function for cooking. I much prefer the pathfinder burner over the Trangia because of its much larger fuel capacity, burn time and it has more constant heat during operation. ( stainless steel body of burner doesn't heat up as much so it does not vaporize and waste excess fuel ).
I like the idea of a multi fuel stove system and want to use it as an option but its size is an issue.
+Chris Dorris The Pathfinder alcohol burner doesn't quite fit in the Nano.
Thanks for asking.
+FireboxStove: Have you tried the pathfinder burner in your fullsized firebox stove ?
+Chris Dorris I haven't tried the pathfinder stove at all. I'm sure with all the available positions in the 5" Firebox you could use it several ways.
Sounds like a nice alcohol burner!
Hey Steve, are you recommending the Swedish Torch method over the original cross fed sticks method?
+Dean Kirby The heat is about the same, but if you don't mind bringing a saw the Swedish Torch eliminates the need to tend the fire for 50 minutes or so. Very handy. I'm sold!
+David Possien Yes! Exactly. The side feed is great for setting a temp (by the number of and size of the sticks used) and the and then maintaining that temp by continuing to feed those sticks in.
Thanks David!
+Dean Kirby It's not so much about deciding which method is better, but rather having the versatility to use what will work the best for the situation, conditions and fuel availability. The side feed is great for setting a temp (by the number of and size of the sticks used) and then maintaining that temp by continuing to feed those sticks in. It's easy to add a stick or take one or two away. And since you're feeding them in a little at a time the flame size is consistent, compared to adding a small piece that will flare up then die out.
Some of it is personal preference. With the Nano you get to choose.
Thanks so much Dean!
does the nano work whit trangia multi fuel burner? gas and alcohol
It does not work with the Nano unfortunately. The spirit burner and gas burner will but not the multi fuel burner.
is there also a steel case for the nano?
Best regards
We carry the X-Case for the Nano here: www.fireboxstove.com/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=X-Case&product_id=184. Thanks!!
Yeah, hows it going Peter? If you could go ahead and come in on Saturday, that be great. Yeah.
Ya I will be there.
if I purchase one of the grill plates to go with this will it fit?
+Jacob Scotti The Adjustable Fire Grate work well as a grill for the Nano. You can see a picture here: www.fireboxstove.com/accessories/5-inch-adjustable-fire-grate

Ultralight Backpacking Stove Review by Living Survival of the Firebox Nano with mention of the Emberlit Fire Ant : czcams.com/video/zJCgCNQIP7U/video.html
Hey Steve. Really impressed with the Firebox stove designs and hope to order one. Had an idea: what if you make the leg posts separate pieces so that you can choose to have max support on feet (turned out) or vary feet support depending on surface and then still be able to choose the stove top size small or wide as well --giving more variabilty by just turning the each leg posts into 2 separate moving parts?
Yes, I have given that idea a lot of thought in fact the overkill mod for the Nano has that feature. Thanks 👍
@@fireboxstoveThat's awesome Steve! Really appreciate the reply back too. Says a lot about you and your work. Will definitely be ordering a Nano to start with. All the best :)
You bet, I try to answer as many people as possible., You will have to let me know what you think of the Nano when you get a chance to burn in it. Thanks for watching!

You would need to go through a forwarding company so we could ship to a US address. It would be quite expensive!
My firebox nano is awesome. But you had to go ahead and sell me on the fuel plate and flame guard. Curse you Steve!
