I'm no fan of the current government, but in this case they are not wrong. The government made no promises to anyone to provide PR....it's the students who used the study permit to ASSUME they would get PR. Now the supply and demand equation has changed. There aren't jobs for Canadian citizens so why would the government now prioritize students on study permits to provide them with PR? That makes no sense whatsoever.
