    Note that she correctly stopped rolling her single Italian Rs when singing truly legato...actually you really should hardly hear them in Italian. Almost all of the details works out when a singer subdivides inside.

    ugh. Both "Parto"s were identical each and every time she sang it. There is always a reason why a name, or just a word, is repeated in an aria or song and therefore it should be different the second time to convey this reason. Think of the letter scene in Werther when Charlotte starts with "Werther, Werther..." So many students merely sing the repeated words/names identically, even when the coach tries to explain the reason for the repeat and has the student do it over and over. Some students just don't "get it." Perhaps these students who don't get it have never felt true love, pain, loss, etc.
