The dogs are actually SLIGHTLY better then cosmetic : they have their own vision. So if you're juking behind trees, you more easily see what's trailing behind you. Other than that, yeah they're chearleaders.

Wouldnt this be pretty crazy with Vladimirs 18% damage buff and a Dominator/Overlord?
18% damage buff when you are running around with 290 base damage = +52 damage
Dominator gives decent stats +6 to str, dex, int, health regen, armor and then another +12 damage from the attributes. Upgraded to Overlord its +44 damage.
Then you use the Dominator/Overlord to take a Alpha Wolf(Ofc!) and gain a nice little +30% base damage buff which if we use the previous 290 damage example = +87

I get what you're saying about having fun while winning but there are players out there that legit won't play certain heroes because of how brain dead and unfun/boring they are, even while winning. I am one of them. You can have a bad game winning or a good game losing. If I win just because my right click hero managed to kill people in 3 hits while I'm sipping my coffee, that just doesn't feel very rewarding to me. Everyone plays for different reasons and we all got different playstyles, that's alright. Nice game!

How do you even counter this shit? You can't force him out of lane because his regen is crazy, and he needs 2 items to 5 shot a midlander with auto attacks. And if you commit to shutting him down he'll either run away or take so long to kill that someone else will have free farm on his team. What is a counter to this fucking hero?
picking tanky heroes usually does the trick + carries like phantom lancer/chaos knight make lycan a joke
build op, therefore its fun is kinda shit logic. you basically just get to level your passive 4 more times. that IS indeed boring. the wolves allow for rune denies, body blocks, dmg, lane pressure etc., and are the only tool in Lycans kit that require creativity for maximum efficiency.
The wolves also die in 3 hits so any hero with any amount of aoe will kill them before they reach max potential whereas this facet keeps lycan healthier and gives his crit more damage without the drawback of ending early
It can be fun without being complex.

I was curious after what waga said about the harpoon vs deso thing, and funnily enough after doing test in demo mode with an identical build to him, Deso is more damage than harpoon lol.
Does that mean harpoon is bad? Not at all, the double hit can work into more damage, its a slow, its mana regen, its has an active to pull people to you,
But its also 1200 gold more expensive. And a fair bit of the item is wasted early on (You dont need harpoons active when you have hasted wolf form, you dont need mana regen really when you're only using wolves every 30 seconds and only howling and ulting in a teamfight etc.) and deso buffs your teams damage too.
Echo sabre + deso is probably the more ideal build path just because nothing else gives you that combination of all stats and burst attack speed early on.
Manta though? Hot garbage lmao, out damaged by deso. Out damaged by Armlet even. Even with all those stats his wolf illusions tickle
People will Always kite you when you ult i like harpoon on him. You don't have that much time and need to close the gap asap.
yea but i like farming waves/camp, dispelling, dodging enemy abilities, it also brings back the non-spirit wolves essentially and basically I cant do that with desolator. try buying the shard and manta at its so much boost in gold.
@bcillus Manta with lycan isnt good for farming though. Like I said the illusions tickle. They dont benefit from Feral Impulse damage at all. All you end up with is two melee illusions that spend their entire duration killing a camp that lycan himself could clear hyper fast with his innate.
For a similar price, Radiance has a really strong aura and speeds up your farming more. Or you can go midas for cheaper to accelerate it and it has some good synergy with all your damage and good BAT but no built in attack speed buffs.
If you need a dispel, BKB is a million times stronger. Lotus Orb is also stronger for that same purpose

I hate this facet. Everything that made Lycan unique was the wolves. Remove them and this a a brain dead hero worse than LOL heroes.
You do know that valve added facets so that people can have more possibilities and builds for heroes, so just because you hate a facet, it's instantly worst than LoL? You can choose to not pick this facet but others might not think so and you seem like quite an entitled prick
