If you're gonna add trap points, leave some space around the trap point so you don't have to jump to avoid it!
Thank you for making this video. I've played the maps on the list and MOST of the people really need to watch this video. I also like how not only do you show what is wrong, but you also show a way to fix it. I can really tell you put effort in this. Also one more advice is if you have death blocks anywhere you should put a warning sign to let players know because sometimes I touch a car for example and it kills me and it makes players mad
Hey, im creating a new map but i dont know what type of wall to use.. I alredy used the tinnest one but i feel that its not the best for my map..
I recommend using foil texture for water and mud it looks surprisingly good

We also need people to add more audios, it makes the map more interesting or if not creepy, but also don't add to make audio boxes or it might be too loud or the audios sound distorted but im not going to lie ive done it many times and also adding too little decorations, the map looks every plain especially without using different textures or if there are a lot of bugs/ areas that shouldn't be accessible to the player or piggy, spamming acid blocks everywhere, making the maps have to many barriers, maps that have very poor grammer in cutscenes, having too many trap points, maps that just throw the bot in the void, or maps that have the same problem with the carnival chapter.

Sometimes I bealive when people say your map is good is not because its amazing but because their expectations are increadibly low so once they see a map that is above average they find it nice.
I can't agree with the resize one, because some times i want to add New doors to the walls, but i can't, because i used resize Tool, so i need to delete the wall, and re-build the wall without resize.
MiniToon said to make anything you want, and your telling people to not do anything of these mistakes. But it’s there maps. They make anything they want. You can’t tell them what to make.
I'm not forcing, I'm just giving suggestions on how to avoid common mistakes people make on their map. If you don't want to follow it its ok + its also my channel so i can do anything i want with it

Looking at this 11 months later, you should really make a more modern video considering the new links update.
Here are some things I noticed while playing other people's maps:
1. Making the starting cutscene too long - people do this A LOT. For the first couple of times, the cutscene is mildly interesting. But after that, it just gets boring and repetitive. My recommendation is too make it 2-3 scenes long.
2. Misuse of linked items - people sometimes put links for unnecessary stuff. ex: a linked door for every single door in the regular building. I know it is a cool new feature but people should know when and how to use it.
3. Hard to find items - I am fine with a challenge, but making every item extremely hard to find makes it boring for players who just want to play a cool map.
4: Extremely large maps - especially maps where a lot of walking is necessary. I always found Book 2: Chapter 9 annoying for this as there is a lot of walking, making the maps feel repetitive and boring. Another thing is making players go back and forth, which Book 2: Chapter 1 suffers from.
5: Extremely long maps - an ideal time (IN MY OPINION) varies around 2-5 min or 5-10 min depending on the type map you are trying to make. Making a map extremely long and repetitive makes it feel boring.
6: Making a just-started map public (not really a building issue rather a moral one) - people make the title of their map something like "The Haunted House" and then all there is is a baseplate and a couple of npc's. This is a waste of many people's time as you are, in a way, lying to them.
7. Tall rooms/hallways - a lot of people make rooms/hallways unnecessarily and unrealistically tall. An ideal height in 2-3 blocks tall.
8. Inconsistency of doors - something a lot of people do is use Book 2 doors and Book 1 locked doors in the same place in a map. I understand that there are no locked variants of the Book 2 wood and metal doors and the ship doors, but there are a lot of tricks to lock them.
9. Block worlds (Minor Issue) - When people are making environments, they usually just make a flat block of grass and spam trees. When people are making caves, they just make a rectangular tube. Environments should be realistic and have a lot of slopes of various angles.
10. Locked Spawn (Minor issue) - I see this a lot with beginner maps. Gameplay-wise, the piggy should always be able to catch a player at any time. Sometimes, people place the player spawn in a locked room, forcing the player to open the room so piggy can start chasing them.
11. Overuse of vents (Minor Issue) - A LOT of people put complex vent systems in their maps. However, they don't serve much purposes other than being camping spots. The main purpose of vents are to be shortcuts that players can take to to go to certain rooms faster while being safe from piggy.
12. Tubes (Minor Issue) - A lot of maps I played before are just tubes. This is not a major issue, but it is better to make actually buildings rather than just hallways.
I usually refrain from responding to comments during these days; however, this one has captured my attention. My sincere appreciation goes out to you for your dedicated efforts to assist me as they have greatly impressed me. Consequently, I may possibly consider featuring your suggestions in my next tips video.
And indeed, it's been 11 months. Perhaps it is due to my overall lack of interest in Roblox, and the fact that I have to focus on my studies. Regardless, I have noticed that my BM series videos were receiving minimal attention. Consequently, I have decided to exclusively share further Build Mode tips videos after releasing a Build Mode series video. Additionally, I will only start the development if a Build Mode update becomes available that is satisfactory for me.

I would love to resize, but 85% of the time I need to delete a single block, and when I delete the block after RESIZING it, the whole thing will disappear. I normally just use singular blocks, and if I turn out not touching the blocks, ill resize
Then you can resize it back unless you added reload glitches into it
I made my piggy build BEFORE the resize update. When resize came out I literally cried because my floor is too ugly and I can't REPAINT EVERY SINGLE ONE. And I cannot delete them all, that would be too time-consuming. If the resize update comes earlier, my build might be so much more customizable, and I wouldn't have to spam clicking to make walls.

@@Noblific ikr, it's so tedious and a waste of time. I wish minitoon added this since he first released build mode. When he added resize, my build is 75% done. Now it is 90% finished. It is playable, has a cutscene, but still lacks decorations (my hotel map is too big, I need to add rooms and stuff, but I'm out of ideas for rooms to put in a hotel)

Also in that map I have small rooms but I still completed it, if it's bot it's easy, if it's player it's impossible

if you are making big rooms for showcase or personal use they you can use it. But building big rooms for players to play would be a bit unfair

Why was the last vid 2 months ago?
For my map, i dont even use a piggy, instead i use NPCS, and i use ALOT and ALOT of ammo, guns, carrots, bones, grass ect. This makes it easier for the player, instead of being destroyed by soldiers or the ship members.

IKR!!!! Every time i join a map, the first thing i see is spam of ammno, items and npcs, maybe this kids Think that adding a lot of things in their map Made it "cool" but the reality is that just makes it BAD

Look where it got me now, I am making detailed maps and stages and uploading the gameplay to my CZcams channel. You should see The Zebby Nightmare, it's really detailed and I've grown in making maps.
