This is the only CZcams channel that explained how to do this that makes sense. Thank you for putting this up! Now I am a subscriber.👍
Thank you for your support!
Thank you so much for sharing! Very Helpful!
Great video! I've been having issues running CZcams TV, have you run into anything like that?
hi. very good video. I build the android TV with this VD. But cant run Widevine there. I read that version 14 it supports it. However, I am not sure is the same for androidtv 14.
Any chance for an updated tutorial?
Does this software has HDMI-Iinput option, to connect set-top box?

I just bought the pi 5. Do you know what the most upto date way to do this is? I hear there's android 14 but no one talks about setting it up like you have. I assume I'll just have to use this stable old way but obvs u always want the most up to date way lol. Also thank u for the video! So hard to find any information and stuff.
Yea I try to stay up to date. I will probably make a pi 5 version of this video. I have to get it stable first though. Thanks for watching!
@@kelleytech ah ok so no proper set way yet. I looked on kang's site but didn't see any TV versions. I'll set it up like this for now and wait for your next video 😂🙏 can't thank you enough
Hey just to let you know, the pi 5 version has been added to the website
@@Relyt827 Thanks its hard to keep up!
does this work on sata m.2 drives? even changing the config.txt to boot usb doesn't work
Hello and thanks for watching. Have you tried to update your bootloader?
I'm curious, if it will be possible to connect my existing remote from chromecast to the google tv running on pi?
Hello @Dubiman42 and thanks for watching. I have not tried my self but it should work. To put your remote into pairing mode, hold down the back and home button until the light starts blinking. Go into settings, remotes, pair remote and that should be it. Please let me know if it works.
why you didn't explain how did you sign in 11:50
How did you get to the pi OS screen to expand the drive on Gparted? Sorry if noob question
Got the second card and on the OS now, but no gparted - what's the equivalent these days since the updates I suppose?
@@olliemoseley8157use in terminal sudo apt install gparted
First of all your voice is very good.
At 5.40 you are confusing us, on which pi you insert the sd card to expand. How many pi you had while making this video ?
Please don't confuse us while teaching something new.
Hello @StartNight-df3sv and thanks for watching. This process can be hard to figure out at times, it took me a while to figure it all out myself. I only used 1 Raspberry pi 4 in the video but I used 2 SD cards, 1 SD card with Raspberry pi OS and the other card had Google TV on it. Hope this helps!
@@kelleytech Ok I understand you used a SD card to USB converter and inserted ON USB port. Later on you switch SD cards while booting.
Thanks again...
How can I use this with my Raspberry pi3? Will it work with it?
Unfortunately the pi 3 will not work with lineage 20 shown in this video. The pi 3 will work with older versions of lineage OS. Here is a link for the software konstakang.com/devices/rpi3/
Thank you. I'll try with this. I think all the other software and methods are the same as the video.
hi, does google cast works on this ?
Should. I saw reference in a different video about the features.
I know with the 2 Android TV I have, an actual Google TV and an Android box.
The requirements are the devices have to be on the same network and have to allow new connections.
Having pesky neighbors who I am having a Wifi war with. I turn everything off and have to run a firewall to block everything (long story).
So you just have to have devices discovered to find and connect.
Once that is done I have not had to ever do it again. They can from then on stay invisible and not allow new connections. Because they won’t be making a New connection the second time you connect.
I took a day and I connected every phone, tablet and laptop and connected to the tv and then turned discovery off lol
So if and when you ever need to cast. You just select the device and click it.
Super great way to piss your children off. When they’re in watching youtube and you cast a bed time song like Brahms lullaby to their tv. LOL😂
Or you can have Siri or Alexa announce its bedtime and start playing lullabies. Either route is funny.
Is there a way to get widevine L1 working in this
I have been trying to solve that problem myself. If I figure it out Ill definitely let you know.
@@kelleytechany update
Why you need to overclock it?, I have a chromecast that run android tv and it has the worst processor ever and no ram at all and runs fine
Hello Max and thanks for watching. You can definitely run google tv without overclocking on the Pi but it does run smoother with the overclock.
That's android TV not Google TV
After you install mind the gapps and do a full update it becomes Google TV.
