I grew up in Binghamton all my life. What they need to IMO is create jobs get more people into this area who want to work and u will see gain in our city. It hasn't happened yet. Will it. Will have to wait and see in the next 20 years. Positive hopes for Binghamton
The physical decline is due to the economic one. Second problem is the weather. Too many days with gray skies, especially outside of Summer. Stunning colors on the Fall though. There is NO manufacturing, it's too far from a major city and hence no future there.
An architecturally beautiful downtown area and quite clean but very few people walking along the streets.
