a side note...Flight between Canada and USA are known as Transborder flights, hence not truly being an international flight. Services on transborder reflect those of normal national routes

Air Canada did a fantastic job on their Max cabins. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! My wife and I just booked biz on a 737-800 Max AC flight from YVR to LAX next spring and we were curious of what the section looked like. $400 difference per seat from basic for us.

Excellent trip report. Btw, just a comment: Canadian and U.S. carriers pretty much consider flights between the two countries like a domestic, not international, flight. The in-flight service doesn't improve as a result.

Thank you for watching! I suppose a lot of the flights are relatively quick between the two countries. The main reason I went for a Business ticket was because of the value vs economy + add ons.

@@LeisureFlyer I'd always choose business over economy if it's an affordable price!
In a perfect world they would never have invented the "middle seat", LoL

I think a $150 difference is an absolute no-brainer, look at qantas domestic economy vs business, right? I think I'd pay flex economy pricing for business. Actually I dunno. Haha.
What do you think the best 'domestic business' carrier is? Seems it's all much of a muchness in terms of the seat and comfort. Not including flights like X -> Perth domestic on the dreamliner.
What do you do for a crust if you don't mind me asking? Always curious how the youtube flying crew travels so much.

The price difference is harder to justify in Australia IMO. We benefit from included luggage with QF/VA/Rex and seat selection isn't usually much even if you have to pay extra for it. On that note, I believe Rex and VA were aiming to reduce the price for business class to make it more competitive and enticing for people to book outright. From what I've seen, it does tend to be pretty good on Rex vs QF. Say, SYD-BNE might be $89-109 in eco, or $249 in business. Much better than $129 vs $699 for QF.
The other factor I didn't mention in this video but I might in another, is that a lot of flights in North America seem to be full, or at least, fuller than flights here. So if you book an economy ticket, chances are you WILL be sitting next to someone and if you pick a window, then you're basically trapped in by two people on 737/A320 type of aircraft. Of course, there's nothing wrong with having to sit next to someone, but you can't deny that it feels more cramped when you're surrounded by a full cabin. Another downside I've found in N.America is the competition for overhead bin space, even in Business. Space in eco is almost always gone by the time its halfway through boarding and people get forced to gate check bags. Not a big issue for me, happy to gate check if needed but I can see how it would be annoying for HLO passengers.
You're spot on re-best domestic style product. They're all much of a muchness (except the Avianca A320neo I had if you haven't seen it yet). Europe is the only main exception where Business class is hopeless, but having status is excellent.
I'm keen to try something like the Singapore 737 Max, but for a recent flight I booked (coming up later this year) it was $180 in eco, for 737 max OR A350, vs $800 in business. Made more sense to just book eco in the A350.
Personally I own a (very) small business, which allows me the luxury to travel on a more flexible schedule. I actually had a backlog of videos filmed from the last year or so and 3 'special' videos from late 2019 that I'm yet to make but I'm looking forward to making. You'll know them when they get posted :) But until then I'm working on posting all the recent stuff after I unexpectedly hit 1k subs a couple of months ago.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

You're not wrong about competitive space on US flights. I was really surprised the first time I flew domestc in the US. "...why are people bringing so much shit onboard" LOL. Will check out that avianca, thanks for the tip and look forward to more vids :)

@@LeisureFlyer The demand for flights in North America is impressive. Even for me it was a tremendous but pleasant surprise that on my last flight from Vancouver to Toronto the assigned aircraft was a B777-333ER of Air Canada. The only logical explanation for operating that route in a long-range aircraft is the volume of passengers that the company moves. It is a plane with a capacity of 400 passengers and all seats were occupied.
On other occasions, I have flown that same route on the 737 MAX or the AC A321.

My Strong Word of Advice don't fly with Air Canada I waited 50 minutes on the phone called 2 times because they lost my suitcase at the customs station. I have the Galaxy Smart Tags 2nd Generation to track my delayed 🧳 It was delayed for 5 days at the airport in Quebec City I wanted some compensation refund for the delay but the rude flight attendants refused that is taking advantage of passengers money the food and the wifi is overpriced and is terrible 2 stars 🌟 🌟 customer service cheapskates staff is so rude and snobby not impressed I fly with Porter and WestJet. I filed a complaint online with the Canadian Transportation Agency, but still nothing has changed.
