Hideway or the Silver Lake State Park campgrounds are nice, the Sierra Sands hotel works; there is also a hotel right on Silver Lake, but your best bet is probably searching the VRBOs. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but it sure is a fun place!
@Horned-animal, formerly known as Jesus Sure left a cool playground behind. We love it Pentwater and Ludington are right up the shore if you want more trees by the beach. We like all of it.
