The question for you Mad, is, how do we heal as resto shaman? Usually in pug groups when people are taking a lot of damage, shaman can go out of mana in 4,5 chain heals pretty fast. How can you overcome that? The surge is pretty costly and Healing wave is taking a lot of time to cast. TLDR, shaman in pug groups can go oom very fast compared with other healers.

@MadskillzzTV still upset by the Holy Paladin Rework nerf 🤣. I still main H-Pal and run mid 20's pugs just fine. As long as the rest of the group is solid most keys are timed.
Agreed with this tier list: Poison cleansing totem is 1 GCD that gets both afflicted mobs, ranged interrupt that is at the top of the general shaman talent tree, incap totem 1m CD, purge, can move & cast every 1.5 m, acid rain that heals & damages. I love doing keys on my Resto Shaman because it's less work in comparison to my other healers; sort of easy mode. + Bloodlust, + incredibly mana efficient, + cloudburst is still so good.

man your opinion on disc priest is totally true, disc is my main for more than 2 years now and when it comes to 20+ keys it is really stressful for me, especially on bursting weeks and recently i tried resto dru - i was shocked i'm literally chilling high keys on my druid comparing to disc, thanks for the content, gonna try resto shaman next

Hey. It's so great that you made this video. It's exactly what I and I'm sure many others need. I always play keys in the range up to 22 maximum in pug groups. That's why I never really want to know which healer is absolutely meta, but I want to know who helps me best in pug groups. so again: thank you very much!!!! It would be great if you updated this video whenever changes are made.
10/10, great take, its great to see a practical tier list. Since (lets be really) this is applicable to easily 90%+ of the playerbase, vs just saying what the top 1% of players are doing. Also messing around with a bunch of healers myself, i agree with the list 100%

I love my resto shaman! Feels easy to play for me and loaded with utility.
I have also played all the healers this season, I agree with this list. If I had to make a change I would personally swap your ranking of HPriest and Prevoker. If people aren't in range as Evoker then I can't outheal the check, as HPriest I can brute force HPS regardless of positioning for the most part.
This is a great overview of the six healer specs in Season 3, with PUGs or if your guild group is... like a PUG sometimes :-)
It also matches what my experience has been. I too, have all 6, at 435I or better.
One thing I would add is, the party type has a big impact:
1) All melee group - Monk, Pally & Evoker can do very well.
2) Mix of melee & ranged - Druid & Shammy
3) Both priest classes NEED a group that knows their role, their abilities and the fights.

Good vid bro its a like from me. I agree with pretty much all of the list. As a Pres Evoker main I think its pretty slept on as a spec. It has some massive healing, strong damage, very powerful cooldowns and some more than decent utility. As for the short range I always ask people at the start if the key to remember to stay within 20 yards of the tank. If that doesn't work I have been using Rescue + the new ping system to try and communicate to ranged dps where I need them to be. I think a cool trade off for our range could be making Echo and Living Flame 40 yard range and keeping the rest of the ability's with their current range.
Im a main mistweaver (3450 rating) and im starting to play as preservation evoker as an alter. Im 440 ilvl only with my evoker, but im enjoying it a lot in M+. But my main issue is to deal with continuous single target damage. i feel that evoker has too slow casts and i feel that i have no time to keep people alive when receiving too much single target burst like tree in Darkheart Thicket, or random unexpeted dmg in trashpulls.
How do you deal when you have to keep insane SingleTarget burst ? my living flame healing is too low and too long cast :(
@@Akonovo Hi mate, welcome the the Pres team! I will start by saying you are higher io than I am on your main (im only 3.2) but I have played Pres for long enough to pick up a few bits and bobs.
For those big continuous single target attacks, things like Etch in WM, Wrecking Pain in AD, Tree in DT etc etc. The first thing i would say is make sure you are always doubling up those single target heals with an echo, so the damage starts to come out on the single target and we go echo > reversion (getting good value from our golden hour here) echo > VE (small not that there has been one or two times ive had to send communion with the lifebind when not so smart dps decide to try and face tank these mechanics and not use a cd to help). Echo > Flame (good to use after the echo VE because your flame will be buffed by yesra and cast time lowered by scarelts worth it to note that only the 1st flame will be buffed though not the echo'd flame). Also things like time dialation or leaf trinket can really help in these big single target spots. Hope that helps a little bud!
@@CaledonianCraft Thanks for your answer! (your messge was interrupted :P) But after a few days testing evoker in 20-23, i think that Evoker should have shorter cast time in his living flame... All healers has ~1second cast time heals to spam during strong single target dmg. But evoker has to channel empowers and his main heal (living flame) has 33% more cast time than average healers. This is making me struggle a bit during single target healing :( Few times people died while i was in GCD of echo, or casting a living flame :(

@@Akonovo No worries bro Pres does have a pretty steep learning curve and you are also correct that it can be punished pretty easily especially in single target healing.
I find that utilzing golden hour reversion casts can help a lot with single target burst healing but also dont be afraid to send a rank 1 spiritbloom for a big clutch heal. If you are desperate you can Verdant Embrace then Emerald Communion. However i do find that most of the time echos and living flames work for ST healing when combined with other abilities. A good example is Echo>Reversion with Golden Hour, Verdant Embrace to trigger Lifebind + Ancient Flame, Echo Living Flame.
Obviously healing is situational but give this a try if you can and see how you feel.

I think it is fair to assume that Resto Druid doesn't run interrupt, because taking it required so much sacrifice
i only run it in waycrest (for the basement) and everbloom (for 2nd boss and trash before 3rd)
but yeah, big sacrifice its so annoying.
As a Fistweaver, I am enjoying my experience. Only down side is tanks that pull a group, stop, then run off again after I drop Jadefire Stomp...
Chi Burst is your get out of jail card. Just stay inside stomp and even if you heal allies you have a very high chance to reset.
Finally someone exposing the fact that all those fotm reroller pug disc priests on sub 25 keys are absolutely terrible compared to other healing specs. But they still get invited because disc is doing +30 keys in coordinated groups.
Prevoker main here (with a Resto Shaman main for MANY years), it took me a long time on prevoker to really learn how to use their mobility to my advantage, and I completely understand why Blizz made the range limitations it did, because you really start blasting with Hover/Temporal Anomaly/Echo, then Verdant Embrace OR Living Flame OR Spirit Bloomx1...this is the design. Stasis can be crazy powerful, and all the combos possible--you can basically turn it into any flavor of CD you want every 1.5 minute--shield, dispel, super hots or super throughput, it is SO much fun, and I bring a whole team from near death over and over and over again. Don't like where they are? Mage keeps hanging out in back? That's what Rescue is for. Extra fun to join PUGs and folks will be like, "don't see Prevokers too often!" and then kick butt. Prevokers belong in at least A. Love your content. Thanks!
spot on Brother, I just returned to the game and rolled a shammy, I F" around with the other healing classes and settled with the resto shammy, 5 years ago I played holy pay, its not the same, the priest is so slow, and the druid i just did not like. The shamy allows me to pug, do guild dungeon runs or just solo, the shamy is versatile and for me checks all the right boxes.
Great content as usual, with all the recent changes I'm struggling picking a healer to main. I'm trying to focus on casual raiding , and shuffle. Any recommendations on all around healer ? Druid/Monk seems to be at the top.
Priest definitely needs a kick. It was fun for awhile but keys are getting to the point where a missed kick can one shot someone or the group. Its needed

There is a pvp comp called RMP that would just be completely overpowered.
Blizz needs to find a way to give priests a kick on pve only

As a Disc priest, I agree with your points, Bursting is pretty annoying, and the lack of interrupt is getting annoying (I have the chance to duo with a Paladin tank though )
Trying Mistweaver was an eye opener, so much utility in pug is game changing. I was wondering between trying sham or druid, I'll go sham after seeing this.

I agree with almost everything except resto druid. They are a proactive healer which isn't as good in pugs. Someone gets hit randomly by a swirly and they are doomed. Treants do not help

The only creator I don't mind doing healer tier lists. I play a few of them, shaman, pally, and priest all 2800+. Pretty disappointed with holy priest (your ranking). You count a knock back as a substitute for an interrupt, but don't acknowledge the aoe fear which can cower or move mobs for sanguine. You also have chastise, which can be an incapacitate or stun, with apotheosis you can stun like 7 times in a row every other global.. not to mention the aoe damage is insane, and the spot healing is unmatched in my opinion. For stupid pugs who eat damage, I go flawless 20-24 runs more often on my holy priest than anything else. It's whatever though, I pugged my way to 2890 on hpriest, so I know it's good lol
Imo it’s not the range that messes up Pres. It is the cone nature of DB and TA
Having all the healers I'd say Resto Shaman is everything. But I think my preservation evoker can heal anything really and also carry squishy tanks with ease, it's only kriptonite is the huntard who sits at max range. I just position myself accordingly. Definitely the best and most fun healer for me atm.

Im mistweaver main (3450 rating) and im testing preservation evoker (currently 430 ilvl with only 2/4 tier bonus). But im struggling so far with high continuous single target dmg. like mechanics that makes people lose 20-30% hp per second for about 5-7 seconds. Whats your rotation/strategy for that damage pattern ?
@@Akonovo echo reversion , echo reversion taking advantage of Golden hour and what makes it the best tank healer too. Maybe echo embrace after if you still need it. You va also set an embrace powered dream breath with an an echo or temporal anomaly so the target gets it twice. Echo reversion and double breath should heal for a lot.
I too have every healer, and the only healer that truly carries PUGs is Monk. One of the reasons being ZERO mana usage, so when that pug tank keeps pulling and not checking your mana, there's no issue. My Shaman will always be out of mana.
I'm guessing you are using chain heal? I use a riptide/ healing surge build and rarely have mana issues. I rarely if ever use chain heal (only on bursting do I use it).

How many points restoration druids have to sink into skull bash (interrupt) is too many points because it is in the middle of the general talent tree & not connecting to talents that are commonly used. Skull bash should be higher up in the general talent tree! In comparison to my restoration shaman that gets interrupt on the second line of the general tree. Been inequitable for a long time.
Yup. Climbing on R shaman has been a breeze, especially after the buff. Can purge a bunch of stuff too that makes stuff easier. Sleeper healer in pugs.
They are pretty good til you get to the higher keys. Their emergency healing is really bad

In terms of resto shaman and due to their mastery id say their emergency healing is actually the opposite? you can natures swift, riptide into a surge, even throw down a link. That being said i havent healed any of the higher keys myself on one, only around 20 for my sham alt.
@damienwyles6515 I disagree for this season. They don't build haste or master for m+ so people are going to get dumpstered. Their throughput is nice tho

Personally as a holy priest player I wish they would just get rid of PI and just give us an interrupt or battle rez. I absolutely hate choosing a pi target. I always seem to pick the wrong person or it feels like it does nothing even when they do really good.
Fully agree with this list, but man half the discords will be mad with you again no matter how much you stress the PUG and 20 KEY LEVEL range part.
I disagree about disc. Double pain supp, barrier, desperate prayer, rapture, annnnd flash heal is satisfying great in a pinch and not talked about a whole lot. Personally I don't just thro shield out there nor radiance I only use it as a patch until you can get back to that player assuming they have atonement. You just gotta know how to play disc took me awhile to get disc playing thro the expansions. Again, you just gotta know how to play disc and in my honest opinion it's the most satisfying healer because you are fighting too...
Only thing I disagree is Preservation is S tier. Insane Burst heal on short cds, some of the higest healer DPS since tier set is sending out loads of Living Flames, tons of control(Opressing roar, wing buffet, the shove,) Fire Breath is nuts. I mean the class does it all, the only reason you wouldn't want one is cause Aug takes all the prio.
I really think if more people doing the average keys had this in mind it would be way easyer. Mdi meta is words apart from the average key.

In lower keys I can carry on my mistweaver like nobody's business. No other class can convert mana to hp as fast as mistweaver. In high keys I don't know lol.

Disc priest is the worst pug healer i have played, tested and have seen in other groups i play as dps. No disc priest EVER has managed to save the group from mistakes or fail situations the way a holy priest, resto shaman or a resto druid can save.To me as a completly pug player disc is the worst heal to pug !
Now see I have a problem with Shaman healer now as you praise it so much that it's raising the expectation of the lazy DPS not to do interrupts, not to do affixes because the swiss army knife healer can do all those things for us.
If a PUG is doing 20 - 25 they have to do interrupts and Affixes if not they do not deserve to be in those high keys as they would most likely not time or nerf the the key.
I feel you have given these high ego DPS and tanks an excuse now and to be fair this video is not "carry" but baby sitting pugs.

??? He mains holy pal for the mythic raid progression and otherwise loves resto as he's stated before many times? This vid has nothing to do with top tier healers. It's healers that can more readily carry a group if they mess up with their utility/cds. Shamans are considered around B tier for overall healing for M+ but if youre in a group where people dont know what theyre doing you can help "carry".

I dont agree at all. Shaman honestly is a healer in need of dire rework. its not saving people from not kicking multiple spells in higher keys It does ok damage and provides some nice simple healing. It still feels awful to play and most of its casts still feel long and it is a reactive healer which means dps have to survive the hit to have something to heal. Shaman does provide nice stops which is very nice in a pug but they require shaman to stop casting large heals or damage to be used. Shaman is also more affected by positioning. they feel like turret caster in healer form.
I would much rather have a druid or a monk any day. They just have a better proactive healing profile. Druid can survive pretty much any fuckup with 30% vers. multiple personal CDs and external. Also have bear form which cant be looked down upon. Druid can provide just as many stops as shaman while still having group pre-hotted so they don't have stop healing to interrupt. Druid brings vers buff so already your entire team is getting more tanky.
Dont get me wrong I have love Shaman over the years but that class just feels slow and clunky compared to nearly every healer. the talent trees still feel bad. it takes 20 chain heal talents to make chain heal a respectable button some of the time. The removal of primordial wave being able to flameshock enemies was a step backward in shaman's damage profile which does matter in modern mythic+
Shaman trees still feel overall unfinished and naked. It has chainheal spec but the other side of tree feels unfinished and not fleshed out. the class tree big capstone is nature's swiftness that druid gets 4 points into their healing tree. it just well doesn't feel good. their great utility like gust of winds that they are unable to take because of all bloat built into their tree.
A few things i would love to see shaman get in war within to make them feel a bit better.
#1 Provide the tools for resto to Dps like enhance shaman. just like how druid can pick between melee and ranged off dps.
#2 Grounding totem
#3 Either a totem playstyle or a Riptide / Shield playstyle. Flesh out the healing tree more. Bring them more than turret chain healing.
#4 Defensives not tied to Earth Elemental
Overall I would like to see
Healer Utility Normalized a bit or provided redundancy to provide more options for the healer to pick class that isn't forced by most overpowered classes in other roles in the group.
Passive Damage reductions normalized across classes a bit or health bars enlarged enough that attrition healing actually matters
Vers Damage Reduction removed. Vers damage reduction ruins healer gameplay
Health Bars increased to make attrition and throughput of healer actually matter
Raid buffs either provided by items, Redudency in other classes or Removed entirely. Bad for balance.
You're playing shaman wrong then. Hes not saying its saving people from not kicking, hes saying YOU can be the one that kicks to save the group due to the short cd.
What spells are a long cast time? because if youre playing the class correctly none of the spells feel too long unless you have 0 haste.
This wasnt a best healer in m+ its the best to pug on.
Shaman has Hero, Short cd on interrupt, Spirit link totem, CBT, reincarnation.
I do agree with you about its damage but everything else seems more subjective than anything.
Not sure why you think vers has ruined healer gameplay?
Health bars being increased makes no difference really other than padding. Raid buffs by class have been around forever. Im glad they actually brought a lot of them back.
Holy priest are best for pugs
Icy Veins puts them in C tier.
nobody cares about power infusion on priest, it's all about the EHP/oneshot protection disc brings, which is unmatched

Most of those "tier lists" are aimed at the highest end keys. 27-30 range with a coordinated group. This video is aimed at the healers that can CARRY groups, meaning it can account for mistakes the dps makes (missed interrupts etc), and that is Shaman 100%. Shaman bring so much utility and CC that most others just don't. If your in a top level push group, that NEVER misses an interrupt or CC, sure Disc priest is king.
Yea RSham is not the best lets push +30s as part of a team healer. But in the lower 20s range, because the simplicity of its play style combined with its overloaded utility kit it is very strong for pugging. Not my favorite healer personally that honour goes to Pres Evoker!
@@CaledonianCraft Rsham can do +30s too, but it depends a lot on the setup. Remember, Rsham brings a +10% max hp too with their heals and a lot of utility.

The point I was making is its not the best in the +30 range as part of a structured team but it probably is the best in the low to mid 20 range as part of a random pug group. Overall they are a pretty well balanced healer in all forms of content.
