Being a glass canon build with ekari and blacks blade thing, it’s like having infinite ammo.
As someone who mains Ki builds, one of the reasons the Ki build looked so much worse than the strength build was because of your move selection. Beams are only good in specific scenarios, and you only really need one in your whole moveset. You also lacked a healthy amount of reliable stun abilities, which are basically required to make Ki builds viable. Moreover, Planet Crusher and Gigantic Roar are far too slow for PVP or even PVE.
A reliable Ki moveset would be something like a single beam (one that you can charge), Burning Strike, 2-3 stun abilities (like Eraser Blow or Death Beam), Super God Fist, and another decently fast move of your choice. And to deal with the charging problem, you can equip the Fruit of Might or simply enable and disable Kaioken every once in a while, since they both refill Ki. The Scythe's fighting style move also has this property.
I don't blame you for disliking Ki builds, since it takes a bit of practice to maintain distance and attack at the same time, but it's not at all worse than strength, considering once you get good with it, strength builds will have trouble attacking you since you can out-range them.

pretty sure with ki build you can turn off kaioken and kaioken back on to max ki fast, probably bad option but its easy way to get all your ki back withought charge
