    That looks fantastic! One thing I noticed you did, that I don't think you mentioned, was to start the rockwork assembly several inches above the bottom of the tank. I think that's a great idea. It allows the substrate to be against the glass all the way around, which makes for easier cleaning. Great job.

      Everything except the coats of tile pointing and oxide is done. It all went well. I’d say just watch plenty of tutorials and you have nothing to worry about. The more I think about it the more I am glad I’m making one.

    Another good way to texture that green insulation board is with a diamond blade on a cordless grinder. I've used that to texture most of my backings for my enclosures saves a heap of time. Base coat of heavy black works well to give it depth in all the cracks and crevices too.

      @@coopsreptiles2588 Yeah I tried a wire wheel and it was horrible, wouldn't recommend. But a straigh diamond blade like the ones they make for cutting tiles works real well not too much mess the time it takes to clean up the small amount you save in how fast the blades eat through the foam

  • @RoseDrawsThings
    @RoseDrawsThings Před 3 lety +1

    Dang Coop every build you make is better than the last! I love how simple and effective this is, and I appreciate that foam is lightweight and won't make enclosures crazy hard to lift and move.
    I'm wondering if you ever have issues with animal waste seeping between the enclosure base and the background structure? Are you able to seal the base off somehow, or does the substrate absorb it well enough that it never gets in there?
    Thanks again for the awesome tutorial!

    • @coopsreptiles2588
      @coopsreptiles2588  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! for my builds I leave a small gap at the bottom of the background for substrate so its very easy to clean! If I needed to seal it I would probably paint it with pond sealer and then add some more pointing on top!
