I love this song and the people who sing it, thank you.. The Wild Bunch remains one of my favorite movies from lots of movies over my long life. Well-done all of you.
More than 50 years later and Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch still stands as the greatest western ever made. The story-line, the cinematography, the soundtrack and of course the actors were incredible. High above all the rubbish Hollywood puts out today.
Classic quote by the old man at the very end, when he says to Robert Ryan: "You want to come along? It's not like before, but it will do...." That's life.
Such a beautiful ending. Seeing the characters laughing and then riding off, into the forest, as this song plays. It’s an ending you can’t forget and that brings tears to your eyes.
One of the many reasons i love the Mexican people and the Mexican culture. The scenes in which The Wild Bunch spend in Mexico have made me want to live there since. As Malcolm Lowry so eloquently put it..."He on whose heart the dust of Mexico has lain will find no peace in any other land." I couldnt say it better nor agree any more.
@@michaelzeffertt8183 It is both. Sevilla composed it in a spirit of mourning due to exile, and it retains this meaning. But over the years, the song has also come to be used as a song of farewell.
The Wild Bunch. Sam Peckinpah's Epic Western Classic. They do not make westerns like this modern masterpiece anymore in Hollywood now. And this song with Pike and Co.leaving the village is one of the most iconic and beautifully done scene in film.
I agree 1,000%. They don't make them like this anymore. It is truly a modern masterpiece. Love when people begin to sing La Golondrina as the men go to meet their fate. Just beautiful.
My favorite character in the entire show added the most comic relief in the show: Alphonso Arau, the "lots of teeth" Mexican lieutenant. I have been surprised as to how many other movies he has starred in, not the least of which was "Romancing the Stone," playing the runabout drug lord that runs them around in his jeep. Arau has directed and produced movies also.
The beauty still shines in Mexico, I visit alot. There is a reason Mexico is by far the most visited Latinamerican country and top 10 in the world, despite the violence and US warning the world to keep away tourism still keeps on growing.
For me the key scene in the film. Bishop's gang here gets what the people's fight for freedom means and are emotionally converted to their struggle. All said without words. Brilliant by Peckinpah.
Without a doubt the " best " version of la Golondrina ever recorded. I believe that all the actors in this film are dead. Sad. Besides the blood and gore it had content with a fair plot. Salute.
Old Mexico, little wonder so many Yankees loved to go there, and stay. Simple life, nature, beauty, humble folk- "mi casa es su casa." I don't think it's still the same...

If you ever get the chance to go to Mexico go in December cos the children do a marathon pilgramige to Our Ladys shrine way up in the mountains and to see the lighted candles on the way back down the mountainside was a joy and will live with me forever
That old man was one of the great unsung actors.Edmund O'brien. Also starred with Jimmy Cagney in White Heat as the undercover detective and the Desperate Hours. Earlier film roles he was Esmareldas lover in The Hunchback of Notra Dame with another great actor Charles Laughton . Esmarelda was Maureen O'sullivan from the Quiet Man fame
if you buy the sound track this ain,t on it .different version that sucks.in 1970 I went all the way to new York on traln.to get this lp.i was so happy to find it.when I got back I played it and was super upset.but now I got it here.thanx.i have seen the movie at least 30 times.
holden and Obrien stole the show.have seen this movie at least 30 times.only my opinion but this is the best movie ever made.loyality friendship, comrades in a very big way.and they had balls.a f,,,,,,,,, classic.
The Summer of'69 was a good year for westerns. You had The Duke in"True Grit". Paul Newman and Robert Redford in"Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and"The Wild Bunch"with Bill Holden. Unfortunately, being 10,my folks wouldn't let me go see them. True Grit and Butch Cassidy were rated'M' Which in'69 was like today's PG13. And Wild Bunch was rated'R'.
My favourite Western movie matched only by The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which rightfully used to be the #4 all-time greatest movie in the IMDb Top 250 back in 2007 when I took my vote for good, the top five being 1. The Godfather 2. The Shawshank Redemption 3. The Godfather Part II 5. Pulp Fiction, which remains the IMDb Top 250 Top 5 valid to me up to this day and beyond.

I have loved this song since I was a child. Ot makes me cry..
My favourite western movie. Learnt this song and it helps my small Spanish.

the best western ever made with the best cast.
A classic film
La mejor película del oeste filmada. Esos eran grandes actores. Que equipo. Tan real y natural se veía todo.
The director knew the art of filming so well. After 50 years I still enjoy watching it for the nth time. A masterpiece . many thanks to youtube
Gives me the chills... what a great movie.
Classic quote by the old man at the very end, when he says to Robert Ryan: "You want to come along? It's not like before, but it will do...." That's life.
I guess it is time to watch *The Wild Bunch* again.
Such a beautiful ending. Seeing the characters laughing and then riding off, into the forest, as this song plays.
It’s an ending you can’t forget and that brings tears to your eyes.
It makes me cry.
Their walk to get Angel is thrilling but agree that the ending is sad.
Just don't drink the water! Lol
I believe this movie’s cast has the largest percentage of Mexicans of any American picture.
Goosebumps and tears in my eyes, can't help it...
Terrific scene, the villagers singing La Golondrina, the traditional Mexican song of farewell, was the perfect background music.
No, it is a song of loss, of separation, of exile composed by Narciso Serradell Sevilla, who was exiled from his homeland in France.
@@michaelzeffertt8183 It is both. Sevilla composed it in a spirit of mourning due to exile, and it retains this meaning. But over the years, the song has also come to be used as a song of farewell.

I, agree with you,I, was 13 when I saw it,is a masterpiece of western movie.
For Xmas last year my sister in law gave me a book about the Making Of The Wild Bunch.
Love this song. Been finding other versions of it on youtube and playing it for people on my bus while we drive
this gotta be the greatest western ever made.my fav movie of all time.and i,m 72 and have seen tons of movies.
Dzika Banda chyba najlepszy western w historii kina, a do tego ta piękna muzyka meksykańska. Super!
I always heard this played at many Mexican funerals. Beautiful.
Well, how many have you been to...?
As a police officer in San Antonio I did motorcycle funeral escorts.
Does that more or less answer your question?

Too bad the Mexican Revolution ended up going to shit. The peasantry ended up suffering the most.

A 2022 viven Jaime Sánchez, Alfonso Arau, Bo Hopkins, L.Q.
