- I've had many of my watchers requesting this song. I hope you enjoy this, and as one of my Subscribers said "bring some tissues" especially for Dan. As you will see, I hardly made it through this!

I did not know Manowar had covered American Trilogy. I have watched Dan's performance of this song several times and the tears flow. I don't know how Dan kept it together while still doing a magnificent job.
Me too
Thank you very much for your continued support and very emotional reaction to this song by Elvis, which was not easy for us as fans of Dan.
He published this cover just a short time after the loss of his father. Certainly also his way of coping with grief through music.
Dan regrets that his father was no longer able to experience what he has achieved with his music over the years.
He is now close to his goal of 1 million subscribers. We the fans are happy for him.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this with us.
You are welcome. As sad as it was and hard for me to do, I think this video will eventually help many deal with grief.
Usually Dan's songs give me power, but this one made me cry with him. Than you for your reaction.
Thanks Margot!
Dan hit over 1 million today! ❤❤❤❤❤
Well done
No one deserves this more than Dan, he has worked so hard to achieve his goal.
Many thanks for your reaction to this beautiful tribute that Dan sang for his father. It’s heartbreaking to watch him struggle to finish.
I understand
I struggled to finish and I wasn’t singing it !!
Thank you so much for reacting to these in spite of your personal feelings about the song. I enjoyed both of these. Didn't realize Manowar had done this one. Yes, Dan's father loved Elvis and this was his dad's favorite Elvis song, so he did this as a tribute to his father about 6 days after his father's passing. Imagine singing the line "So hush little baby don't you cry. You know your daddy's bound to die" - so soon after your father's death. You can see how Dan was trying to hold himself together as he sang this and ultimately, the tears came. I'm sure Dan stayed true to the original in honor of his dad.
I respect that so much, NT. I can’t imagine his grief but he honored his father’s memory.
And no, I don’t care for the song but I’m glad I did it. As you can see it really hit me!!!
Thank you so much for reacting to this one. I can’t watch Dan sing this without crying with him.
Yeah I understand! I tried not to but by the end I had to cut off because I knew what was coming
Definitely the tears in his eyes was the final straw
Thank you Lori
Just absolutely no comparison in this case for me, ManOwar, the best version I recall hearing. Dan did it great and I’m of course a Dan fan and loved his version too. Maybe it’s just because I’ve never heard ManOwar do this but it brought up goosebumps. Glad you did both of these. Running a day behind on your videos but I’m sure to catch up. Take care. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks James
I liked the Manowar as well. I’ve heard them on my channel but I was surprised how many said they hadn’t
Take care
They definitely hit me in the feels. Beautiful, sensitive, touching rendition!
As was Dan's. I
I see why Dan admires them so deeply.
Dan, every time. I cry with you. Losing your dad, now a best friend. Sorry for your loss. You know they have doubled up to watch over you, their love will always be there, your never alone.
Wow I love that. I’ve lost 4 very close friends and my mom in just the last two years
I lost two of my brothers in the last 4.
Sometimes I think the grief will just overwhelm me. But then I remember they wouldn’t want that. And neither would my wife and my children. So I just keep moving…
Thank you
Thank you! I never knew ManOwar covered this song. I enjoyed it. I've never cared for the song, but I liked both of these. As for why Dan would put his grief on display - we all grieve in different ways and maybe this was his way.
With grief like that I don’t think you control it, it controls you.
I’m not sure why he did this song so soon after his father died except as a tribute
Thank you for watching and your kind comments
Part of my brain recognizes the quality of the artistry, though it isn't my favorite sort of musicality.
Another part of my brain just rejects the song and the baggage I associate with it. So nothing I'd pick off a jukebox.
To those who like it, more power to you, enjoy.
Certainly the title would cause me not to listen. Like you, I associate bad feelings with it.
I did however like these covers
Overall they were well done
Thanks Wade
Just catching up with this. I've never liked the song much either, though parts are good. I hadn't heard the Manowar cover and thought it was very good, so thanks for playing that. And Dan - well, there's nothing more to say beyond what others have said. It's not my favorite thing when he copies other singers (I think he does that partly as a tribute and partly just because he can), but this performance, difficult as it was for him, is obviously because his father loved Elvis so much. The emotion is heartbreaking and the singing is incredible. I don't know how he does it. The language is Portuguese, by the way. Thanks so much.
Thank you RJ! I’m glad he does covers because I wouldn’t get to hear him otherwise!
Although I’ve never been a fan of Elvis, I liked both versions.
Thanks for watching!
Have to go with Dan
He is amazing and very emotive!!
