For everyone who is having difficulty on scanning the QR code from your phone (stuck on "waiting for connection")
this worked for me after over an hour trying to scan the qr:
1. screenshot the qr code on your mi home app
2. open the screenshot image and zoom
3. place the phone in front of the camera 5 to 12 inches away (change distance everytime it says "waiting for connection")
4. Instead of placing the phone in a standing position 90 degrees, change it to 45 degrees (slanting/diagonal position facing the camera) - yep, it worked.
IF No. 4 didn't work:
5. Screenshot the qr code, send it to a computer and zoom it there then let the camera scan it. 100% working

Btw computer method worked for me... It is full proof method would definitely recommend this method to all....

Did u wanna make a trade straight across for ur english speaking cam for my chineese speaking cam its very same cam u have but in a chineese speaking & i do not speak it & so is the box that came with it etc & then some

Good vdo. Remember to shut down VPN if actual this makes issues. I noticed the author has other brand cameras and this points to the fact that MI app accept say DLINK camera as well ?

Yes, it works over the internet. We control the camera from another house using the Mi Home app on our phone.

The phone can be far away as long as there is internet connection.

Agar main security camera ko jab chahu tab wifi deke nehi dekh sakta live veiw, yese karne se kya bar bar connection karna hoga,
Kyun ki main ek phon se dekhna bhi chahata hun au hotspot bhi dena chaha ta hun, agar main kahin bahar jata hun to hotspot band ho jayega to kya bar bar connection dena padega camera ? Ya hotspot lagne ke bad automatic connection ho jayega , aur ek bat iska spaker off ho sakta he kya

Yes, you can. That's what we are doing. 4 of my family members can view the camera on our phones from different locations.

If I turn off mobile hot and restart it camera is not connecting and I have to follow the reset process to connect again everytime

I have 3 x Xiaomi camera 360 view here in my house, and they are working perfect.
I just got one more brand new, that i am trying to connect, but its not working.
I have reset the camera.. booting up and trying to connect to my 2.4 wifi. The they show the barcode that i have to scan with the camera, but it will not work. It keeps saying waiting for connection.
What am i to do`?

@@sloomabbadi4311 Before you confirm the QR code scan, wait a bit longer, around 20 seconds. Until the camera has rotated all ways. That worked for me.

If only it were this easy. I have the same product and it requires me to connect to Wi-Fi at 2.4, which I do not use. And it seems impossible to link a device to my phone or to my router. After a whole day of training I've given up

I have the same camera and i am facing a problem with it ...when it captures a motion it capture it in quick motion i cant recognise the person captured ...so i feel it is useless and i could not fix the problem ....any idea how to fix this problem

Your router should be giving out two names, one with extension of 5ghz and the other 2.4.ghz

There are two very similar looking cameras to choose, try the other one and it prompts you to scan the barcode. I did the wrong one and it just failed in the last bit of connecting.

I show the QR code on the phone to the camera, trying distance change centimetre by centimetre and the goddamn thing won't read the QR code! Driving me crazy! I worked fine for years and now that I have a new WiFi, I wanted to reset and reconnect the whole thing and it is not working! Any idea? Thanks!
Mine does not work (in USA). First it does not sense my wifi network (not 5G), but for some reason senses a weak signal from my wifi extender. Second, it does not scan the QR code. I am so mad at this camera. It is a paper weight now.
