As someone who has done drawing streams on a terrible laptop and internet it's great how well kiana delt with it, of course she's probably been doing things like this for a while but still impressive. When I was a kid I got blue version when it came out, and when I got to the bridge where you fight Team Rocket before getting to Bill’s house they ask you if you want to join. My first time playing I said “no” like a good little boy, but my 2nd time around I decided that it would be really cool to actually join Team Rocket and decided to say yes when asked. I had this whole scenario in my head all laid out, it was going to be awesome. But then I answered yes and the guy was just like “nah, we’re still fighting” and I was just so disappointed.

Nathan's pokemon villain idea is really good, actually! Imagine a fan game with a completely randomized Team Whatever grunt that can use like, 3 or 4 pokemon out of a very large pool, and you never know what you'll have to counter. It's like a bunch of wild encounters you can't run away from.
At the end of the game, Jacob comes back, downs 8 redbulls, and becomes one of the strongest enemies
But like he's really reluctant about it too
Giovani's bossing him the fuck around all of a sudden and threatening to take his Toxil and Jacob's just like "alright, alright..."
_Pulls out a pokeball belt filled with redbulls and gets two turns in the fight from pure hyper energy_

Karina's art is always an absolute joy. I always end up loving it so much. I also really liked Nathan's in this one. Strong pose, simple but effective gimmick, feels like someone you might run into in an actual game.
Jacobs looks like he would be a first-gen rocketeer who has been worn down over the years of battling children and losing and just doesn't have it in him anymore to care.

Re: Team Rocket stealing pokemon; iirc in the games they specify they're out to steal "powerful" pokemon from trainers. Basically they don't want to put in the work training their own (hence why they use common 'mons), and would rather steal leveled pokemon from other trainers.
And Ash's Pikachu is supposed to be a really good Pikachu, like best Pikachu you can get. The kind people spend stupid amounts of time to get in the games. And he's should be level 100 by now.
I was looking for this cause I could've sworn there was a vaguely ok reason it's that way in the cartoon too. I believe it's why Meowth goes from being Giovanni's fav, being a special talking Meowth, but he wouldn't evolve so he got dropped.
@@goldengaruda8935 if I recall from when I was six, I think most of Team Rocket is moderately competent, but Jessie and James are kinda dumb and think Pikachu is an incredible find? At least that's what I assumed when I watched the anime as a kid.
@@nixand_brennt in the episode where Team Rocket is introduced (which I think is literally the second episode? don’t totally remember) Pikachu attacks them using the combined electricity of a ton of other Pikachus at the Pokemon Center Jessie and James are trying to break into - but since they couldn’t see the other Pikachus, I think they mistakenly think that Ash’s Pikachu is just ungodly powerful and have been chasing him ever since

honestly, I'd love to see them all try to tackle the ghibli style... it seems like it might be hard on Julia in terms of characters, because everyone is so soft and round in a lot of their shapes... but on the other hand, I could see her having a really fun time doing something with the kinds of environments that ghibli usually includes. and I feel like the character designs would be a real treat for someone like Jacob, who already tends toward those sort of soft shapes in his own art style.
