I'm confused. How does she not remember how she ended up in her house, yet end up in her house with her recording gear. How does she survive the creature in the forest, but get attacked in her home?
I've got a theory: I reckon, when she's in her home, she's already dead & she's a ghost. She doesn't remember how she died. When she finds the headphones & recording gear, (perhaps a replica of them in the afterlife), they remind her. Maybe the creature is some kind of demon & has followed her in to the afterlife.
Could be an alien, that brought her home and wiped her memory

Tremendous job building tension throughout. Great payoff at the end.
The fear on the actresses face really drew me in. Kudos to performer and creators.
Loved the setup. Those woods are majestic and the sound she picked up was really spooky. Waking up in bed without any memory was also very chilling. The monster at the end just didn't do the setup justice though. To be honest I don't know that any creature could've done it justice, I think the spookiest part about the sound was mystery to it. Still a great short and I think Andrew Montague has will make more great stuff to come.
These vids turn me into Scooby-Doo that has no Scooby snacks.
Uhm I feel the jumpscare and the cgi used for the creature threw me off a little bit, to be honest :\

@@MercilessMrBrooks I'm not insulting their work for that scene. I think the short was fantastic and very well written. I'm just pointing out that, if they really were on a limited budget, they could play that last scene out in a smarter way, without using money for a bad cgi. Back in the days, those situation were very common in the film industry (having low budget) and the directors always tried to find smart and creative solution to money-related production problems.

@@ekon.murry.5143 If you're SUPPOSED TO BE alone and u suspect someone is there in your place, guess what? THAT PERSON BROKE IN. So, saying "hello" only drags their attention to the fact that you are now awake.
*Someone didn't ask your permission to enter your home? then there is 99% chances they won't answer your hello in a nice way and could be a murderer.* Which is why, you don't ask "hello who is there?".
Like, if I were a murderer and you say "hello anybody there?" I won't go "hey there it's just me, I uhh just broke in and I'm plotting to hurt u real bad, whats sup?".
Not to mention they're usually half naked with the lights off in the middle of the night, while investigating each room calling out "Hello" & "Is anybody there?"
Felt like I was watching the start of Act III from a full-length feature film. This was fun to watch. The actress playing Nikki, looks like she'll win an Oscar one day. And very beautiful too.
All that tense, atmospheric setup, wasted on a jump scare? Really?
A poor quality cgi one at that haha. The rest was great though!
Guess it's one of those "the journey is better than the destination" sort of things.
Horror fillm characters always live in constant darkness (pun not intended).
Also this: "i sense danger but I will stay here in bed and wait to be bitten."
And they always forget that electricity was invented centuries back....Still Switches are alien to them 😊

Instead of the creature lunging through the door when the shot changed to looking at her through the doorway that's when the door should have slammed shut since it did look like it was slowly closing while she was listening.

I find myself fascinated by forests (Nat parks). Their beauty & tranquility is breathtaking. But, that being said... there are now too many scary things associated with them for me to want to venture in...

The alien at the end, it attacked her in the forest earlier, knocked her out, it had abilities to read her mind, went through her memories, etc. It doesn't know what a human's home or bed is, it simply brought her to her bed and left her there cuz according to her memories, that's where she is supposed to be at the end of a day.
The alien wanted to just live life secretly there, stalk humans to find out more about them. It thought she will wake up in her bed, won't remember the attack and would go on normally with her life. But now that she remembers all that she saw, the alien can't just let her be. It's too risky and could bring danger to it's privacy being invaded, hence it killed her.
@@nasastarr0523 Nope. It's the alien that attacked her and brought her home to her bed in an attempt, that she will not remember the exact attack and that it can live secretly, stalk humans, gather more info about humans, etc.
How the alien knew her home/bed? It actually doesn't even know what a home/bed is. It just went through her memories, found out that "the bed in her home" is where she is supposed to be at the end of the day. It wanted her to go on with her life normally which makes it convenient for the alien to do it's work of analyzing the humans' behaviors.
Now that it sees how she remembered all the details of the attack, it can't let her be. It can't risk it's entire species' privacy being invaded or secrets exposed. So it kills her.
It's always good to see Alter dropping movies at a fast rate honestly I enjoyed them all so far, this one had nice cam work in my opinion and the sound was top notch keep dropping heat and I'll be here to support 💪
Great idea. Slightly confused as to where she was when she woke up. Might have been good to make it clear to us she was at home.
The noises really put you on edge and create major tension, I believe ALTER has put that into a science 🤣

Oh......and that Japanese ghost girl with black hair and a white dress....not scary at all. Amazing video ,was confused by the ending however this whole video was satisfying though!!! 😊
I'm starting to think that after years of exposure to violent, horror video games, very little scares me anymore, and certainly not darkness or creepy noises. With this movie, I can't get my head around why the group of people filming would allow a young woman to walk off on her own into a dark forest after the initial shoot. Also, jump scares have over the years become predictable. Otherwise, not bad, and well acted.

Agreed...takes a lot to scare me, but Alter succeeds where others have failed. The other night I was watching an Alter vid in the dark, in my car, on a ferry, in the Pacific Ocean and at the exact moment the women sees the demon and starts screaming her head off some guy suddenly flung my driver’s side door open. I was terrified. The “event” triggered a migraine headache that lasted 2 days. And for the guy who thought it was his car and opened mine instead, the look on his face was priceless. I think Alter scared him too!
It gives a certain chill to suspect or ignore what has really happened to you in that wild forest but that chill is not enough to reach the threshold of pure terror ..

A masterclass in tension and economy. Considering how few words are spoken, we get quite a sense of the character, and certainly enough to feel a lot of sympathy regarding her awful and very convoluted fate. Most tragic boom mike blooper ever ...

There are two things that are just naturally unsettling to me thick woods with low visible light and the ocean both because of the vast things that we don't know about what's inside them the ocean on a larger scale I've just discovered this channel and after seeing this it'd be really cool to see if they have or could do something with the natural horror of the ocean

Brilliant! I love it because it's an original storyline---great use of the senses from the actress ---nothing to see, but to LISTEN carefully. And that CGI monster was fantastic because of those wicked eyes. Wish we could have seen him a bit longer, actually. But I enjoyed the movie. Excellent job!

The jumpscare was unneccessary. I'd have ended with an inhuman shadow creeping across the wall behind her as the thing slinks through the doorway. Never show it, just show that it is there...and is getting closer...

Great film! The forest was beautiful! Even though I saw the door moving, I wasn’t prepared for the jumpscare. The creature looked somewhat like a giant grasshopper. I hate grasshoppers!
