Very nicely done & a professional video for sure! How about a follow-up one on how to use voice commands in Waze while driving, like reporting police, accidents and cars on road or shoulder?
When your passenger is entering an instance - at 5:40 - (eg police, onbject in road, etc) whilst you are driving, does it alert others to the location you were at when the speech bubble was pressed or when someone has finished going through the menu (eg selecting police, hidden, etc). The reason I ask is that if you are doing it at highway speeds (which is why I said the passenger is entering it), there will be a big difference in location in the 10-15 seconds it may take to enter it all. No point Waze telling users there's an object on the road if it's based on when the issue was finished being entered if the user is a few hundred meters past where the hazard is (when speech bubble pressed)
It should (but without comprehensive testing) be the point in which you press the button to report it. The coordinates are saved giving you time to add details
This video should have mentioned missing function also: 1. it is not possible to use keyboard when the vehicle is moving, 2. you can't select a destination on map itself 3. it is not possible to list warnings ahead, 4. Search results are not displayed on the map, but only listed.
Nice overview since I just started to use Waze on Android Auto. 1 feature I can't find on Auto and I'm a long time Waze user, the turn by turn direction list that you get when you tap on the next turn on the app. I'm guessing this isn't available on Auto or have I just missed how to access it?
Thank you! When I started the video I was expecting to find more features but was surprised to learn that things like turn-by-turn is not included unfortunately.
I am unable to type New destination in Waze ,and voice navigation is not working instead it's opening Google maps on my phone instead of waze on android auto...any suggestions,.please
I would start by resetting your app permissions in the app settings. Fingers crossed that will enable you use voice commands in Waze rather than opening Google Maps. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to type in a destination on the homepage unfortunately
Just got Android Auto on a new radio install. I now know why offline maps was displayed instead of the route time. Some how the mobile data button was fat fingered on my phone.
@@fredtippett670 Once you have installed the Waze app on your car's entertainment system, you just need to follow the instructions to turn it on. Depending on your car controls (e.g. a button on the steering wheel to toggle on the voice mic) you'll be able to converse with Waze. support.google.com/waze/answer/9332876?hl=en#zippy=%2Cturn-on-google-assistant-in-waze
what I don't see is a way to see all the upcoming turns in a list, like the phone app displays. Can this be done on Waze for Android auto? It's important to be able to see all the upcoming turns.
Hey mate great vid, I'm new to using waze, I'm currently having issues with it only using offline maps when connected to android auto, I LIVE IN newcastle nsw just wondering if you have had this issue, im wondering if its a mobile service issue though shouldn't be as i live in a large city or an app issue
Thank you! But sadly no, I haven't come across that issue myself. Waze doesn't have an offline mode but it sounds like maybe a feature rollout has gone wrong as other people are reporting similar problems. I'm assuming a fix will be deployed by Waze soon. www.reddit.com/r/waze/comments/1awrjyu/my_app_either_says_using_offline_maps_or_just_no/
@@HowToDoItTech Thanks for the fast reply, ill keep an eye out and see what other people are saying in the meantime ill try reinstalling and check for any updates Cheers.
@@HowToDoItTech Thought i would update you, i finally figured out what was happening. Simple fix but frustrating lol
Thanks for sharing your findings. That will actually be helpful for anyone else experiencing similar issues. Also that's really interesting your dashcam has it's own shareable network connection. That's a category I'm quite keen to explore in the future.
@HowToDoItTech The dashcam connection is purely to be able to download the camera files to my phone if anything happens, but because it's a WiFi network it basically tricks your phone into thinking it's a home network and it prioritises that connection over using mobile data but doesn't actually have access to internet connection hence Waze using offline maps.
Yes! You just need to exit out of an existing navigation to enter new addresses. However you can add additional stops on an existing trip by searching for a location using the spyglass
I faced an issue when using Waze on Android auto with my car sportage 2020 each 10 seconds appear not found GPS i try to solve this issue put in can't Can you help me ?
Hi there. So if your phone is not experiencing the same issue with other map apps like Google Maps, it will be a bug in the app. I would test Google Maps first.
If you have Waze installed on your phone you're using to connect to Android Auto, the app will appear in your list of apps on your car device. Do you see it?

Thank you! And thanks for the idea. I'll have to give this some consideration when I have some more time.

I would like to add that it does not allow you to overview the current route.

can you specify a specific street to take in waze to the desired destination
Yes, you can type in any address to navigate there directly.
Is there a way to add the average green speed bar onto the car? It shows on my phone but not on the car screen
I'll have to try this next time I drive and update.

Yes you can. It'll appear in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

Looks like it doesn't give you turn by turn directions if you want to see your full route in text.
No, that's currently a missing feature which Google Maps has.
