Jeff Kendrick & Mike Spreitzer of DevilDriver teach you how to play "Clouds Over California" This is part 1. For more videos like this, visit www.allaxess.com
Wow, thanks for taking the time to teach us, I just discovered you guys, and as a 61 year old looking for challenging songs to learn during the lockdown, I came to the right play. I’m drawn to this stuff, and it’s amazing how many of family just don’t get my attraction to metal. I’ll use metal as my description, I am sure there is some sub-genre that I just don’t care about. Thanks again, and if you are interested, I make a modified v-pick that helps me play fact and accurately. If you have a mailing address, I would like to send you some? Steve
Saw you guys at Soundwave in Melbourne for the first time, was insane! Top that off with these vids on all axes. Pretty much just the freeking best band ever. So thx to Mike and Jeff for initiative on these vids!!!
As soon as i restring my Jackson, i'm learning this. Thanks guys, this is awesome. One thing I've been wondering, those strings (Especially the E string) look incredibly heavy, What gauge do you guys use?
for whatever reason, i dig everything this band has done. DEZ fkn RULES ... but did these guys do this video at daybreak after a long bus trip? grab a coffee with a depth charge and re-shoot [haha]
Totally agree! Even if u artists wanted money to teach us how to play your songs, it was be a good deal to me... But Free?? First time ever, hope this idea grow and grow over the internet!
Is it me, or this playthrough is not very helpful at all? For a few parts they show you what to do with your RIGHT hand, but not with the LEFT hand, but not the technique to do it. I don't know if it's just me, or this playthrough was done poorly and not TOO helpful. It only helps only to get an idea of how to do it. I'm trying on a guitar in D standard like they mention, but for the 2nd guitar it just confuses me.
2:37 let the strings ring ? FUCK NO, LET THE CHAOS REIGN !!!

@heurlin1980 ohhhh, that explains why i couldn't figure the thing out. thanks for that. :)
Let the CHAOS RING!
@Valer360 They use a custom .10-.63 gauge from Dean Markley. good luck finding it, I didn't have any success with it, then again they are custom made
Harmonics! Brilliantly used, like "Red Barchetta". "The Last Kind Words" is easily Devildriver's best album.
im still trying to figure out the harmonics w/ the 12 fret also with the 5th and 7th
@FREEBOOTXEN0N Yes. Have you heard of Seymour Duncan blackout pickups? They're sick! Sound as good (maybe even better than Emg)
Is he alternating on the harmonic part or all down strokes?
It has a riff similar to the devil driver's cloud over california song.
could you guys teach horn of betrayal or these fighting words??
Fuckin awesome,thanks guys!!
Drum videos from john boecklin please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can some one tell me the tuning in letters please?
emg pickups ?
THATS WHAT I SAID!
Reign
easy..
He looks like the lovechild of Corpsegrinder and Joey Jordisson
BAH HE DOESNT KNOW SHIT ^^ OMG THIS GUY ROCKS SOOOOO FUCKING MUCH
I hate my life for getting a Floyd Rose for metal. I need more guitars.
Lol yeah, fuck floyds. I broke a string in 2000 and havent played a floyd in 20 years because of it
no bass? ):
watching tuturials really takes the amazing sound away from music when you learn songs.
jeff has little bit of OCD there :L
ITS HARMONIC???? WTF
