hellooooooo so I have a Moth ever after high doll repaint for y'all today! this was done in collaboration with some other awesome doll artists here on youtube. We each made a doll inspired by bugs to make y'all itchy haha. anyway hope you guys enjoy!

-princeton velvettouch round 20/0(my fav)
-wargamer "the psycho" army painter brush (its actually called the psycho, this ones quite good. its not as stiff as the one above so i find i have a little less control but its still a nice brush for details)
-arteje 100/0 camlon micro paint brush( this ones quite a bit stiffer than the other two but its a super tiny brush. its a bit hard to control but probably the finest brush i have)
I use a liquid brush shaper i got from blick awhile ago with all these brushes. this has really helped me with their longevity and keeping their shape which is kind of difficult with really fine brushes.

It's been quite a day for me here. Our elderly diabetic dog was having some kind of episode (she's stable and at the emergency vet rn), and my husband's uncle is being taken off life support. This video was a very welcome distraction, and you made me laugh out loud several times. Thanks for all that you do for our amusement! And the doll is absolutely adorable, and my new fave

She's adorable!!🥺🥺 For her bangs, the best result I've gotten when it comes to yarn is using a hot metal chopstick and a hot metal butterknife to style the yarn until it lays how I want. I also use a toothbrush and comb it down with some hairspray. But you're right, yarn just always wants to stick up a bit lol

Lol youre entire story arc with the poodle moth is very funny but it landed with a very adorable doll. She turned out amazing, reminds me of a very posh girl in winter and I love it! 😍

I’d always heard the issue with colored pencils is that they stain the vinyl but idk if that’s true either, it’s good to know they don’t react with MSC. I love your Silk Moth! ❤️
I was going to say the same. It might have come out of the resin BJD or 1/3 vinyl doll hobbies, as I remember hearing about it when I first started (I am a hobby old). Earlier Volks/Obitsu dolls might be more prone to staining than play-line dolls. Or it might just not be as much of a problem, since play-line dolls don't seem to get repainted as often.
ive always heard that normal colored pencils have oil in them and it makes it separate from the msc. i guess i dont even get why staining would be an issue for faceups on fashion dolls since typically noone plans to repaint them. thank ya!
The floofy dress with the bell sleeves and a cute little belt is so pretty! The more simple felt wings and pipe cleaner antenna looks so cute on her and gives the rest of the details the focal point! Thank you for collaborating with me! ✨

uuhhh real quick i would like to say thank you for that tip about colored pencils haha. I'm currently gathering supplies to start customizing dolls myself and i was really stressing about whether i really HAD to get watercolor pencils or not. I already have some really nice regular color pencils that i don't use enough, so i was originally hoping that this was a hobby that would employ them better. then all the doll customizers i was watching alway specifically said to use watercolor pencils.... anyway. yeah thank you for that lol. also your art is amazing and you are extremely inspiring ❤

As far as using normal colored pencils: i figured that people were using WCs bc they were softer. I would think that the pastels that are shaped like pencils would also have a similar softness to them. Maybe it's bc i don't care to try pencils more expensive than Crayola, but i always thought that the wax in (at least those cheap pencils) would be why they won't work great on plastic, even with MSC. But if you found something that works, especially if you have more variety in regular pencils than in WCs, then you should be free to use it. (But maybe don't mention that they're regular pencils if you're worried about them elitists thar, ya know?)
hahaha i think its fine sometimes be uncomfortable and see what art ya can make. oh no, normal colored pencils definitely work with the msc. to my knowledge the issue or supposed issue is people say it has oil in it and that makes the msc separate or something. but that doesnt seem to be the case because ive seen older faceups from people who use normal pencils and they dont look messed up. also some poeple in the comments are telling me it stains vinyl but I dont know why that would be an issue anyway since most people paint a doll once.
Honestly I’m petrified of of bugs too one of my only phobias. There’s only a couple exceptions being bumble bees and butterflies
im okayish with bumble bees but like....still not great. same with butterflies. the only one im sort of okay with are lightning bugs because i used to catch em as a kid but im still a lil weirded out haha

If you use yarn for bangs to stay down or if you want to reduce the volume, get the yarn damp then use some kind of heat to dry it. It’ll stay there and never pop back up again unless you mess with it too much but even then it doesn’t come back up all that much. Also let the bangs dry overnight once you do that. It’ll sizzle when you put heat too it but that’s normal 🤣

I never realize you could use regular coloring pencils, I don’t have msc but I do use an alternative so I’ll try using regular color pencils since I have a lot of them.

I'm looking to buy mr super clear to protect my g3 monster high dolls, but on amazon there are two types of "mr. super clear uv flat" sprays... one is just "mr. super clear uv flat" but there is another one that's "mr. super clear uv CUT flat". Is there a difference???? (one is cheaper than the other, so I just wanted to make sure...)
cut is a version that reduces ultraviolet lights but its made for mr. color, not other paints
so u will probably gonna get the other version wich purpose is to create the surface and seal your layers
