Great model and flying skills.
If you are here just to see the engine munch itself, go to ~ 5:42ish.
Glad there wasn't any major structural damage and it was landed safely. Such as it was.
GOOD JOB!
Overnout
Nice landing. Thumbs up for the pilot👍🏼
Chey Thompson
He was lucky that the engine failed at low attitude or else it would have been a total loss.
@@nimueh4298 no the pilot immediately went into auto rotation. He cut power and went full pitch on the collective. Very well done.
Yes, there was no fiery explosion. Everything is relative as to what happened. The timing of the turbine failure. The speed of the aircraft. The altitude. The flight attitude of the hell. In the end, all of these amazing circumstances coupled with the ability of an amazing pilot, brought a really expensive aircraft to the ground safely and in one piece. No one was hurt, no colaterall damage. It will fly again. To an RC Aviator, that means everything. AirHammer out!!
I was So Hoping you could Auto when the failure happened and then you did! best save ever!!
Wow! Incredible recovery and landing, minimal damage is always a good day!!
It doesn't look like the turbine failed, but rather something mechanical in the drive/transmission. After the POP you hear the turbine accelerate RPM (no load), and the rotor system loses torque. After the landing it sounds like a normal turbine shutdown.
+phishstyx This is also what I thought.Maybe the pto in the turbine itself. you can hear the unloaded turbine spin up but it also changes audibly as if something had opened up on the exhaust side? hmm? awesome helicopter
+phishstyx it may be a turbo-shaft failure - the part that stays right after the main jet engine, but with no direct mechanical link to the jet engine's shaft.
nice save! reaction to this was incredible. all other r/c pilots I've seen lose it! great job
Beautiful scale helicopter flown in a scale manner, even has an inflight emergency turbine failure with a good save!
Could See small puffs of smoke coming out of the exhaust occasionally in the hover. Nice save.
Beautiful model, glad it never got destroyed !!
@@nicholashartzler2205 wowowow chill bro he probably meant that it didnt even get a little damaged
skip to 5:40 for the money shot
Cruising the Waterways - wishing I had read your comment BEFORE watching the video
I'm really that big on Helicopters but this was excellent. fly and a wonderful looking model well done.
nice save ! nice copter
Good recovery! Hope she's flying again :)
Nice piloting. But I was expecting to see an explosion like the title stated...
Yea its fking clickbait to get 2.8million views. We all fell for it. Fk. Thays why theres so many dumbs down.
Since this is a scale helicopter, perhaps the explosion was scaled down as well...
The engine blew at the end. It was a cool video although unfortunate for the guy who lost the engine.
thats what turbines do when they fail, plosion then immediate shutdown or fail if engine- sorry u eint see yor mushroom cloud
I have over 2,200 hrs flying AW139 and I have to say I think your bird is fantastic. Full size it's PC1 Cat A and does incredibly well OEI. Great job.
Glad you were close to the ground, that's a lot of money there
Textbook perfect auto! Well done!
That's a thing of beauty. Congrats on the save and kudos to your photographer. Hate those videos where the camera keeps losing the subject.
das ist ja der absolute Wahnsinn, ich wusste gar nicht das es so große Modelle gibt, und das man die fliegen darf.
.....der Sound der Turbine, beeindruckend real.
Nice autorotation. Hats off to the pilot!
well, not quite an auto rotation but put it down well being so close to the ground. Well done. Beautiful heli too.
I definitely take my hat off for the pilot and I was clapping too after I recovered from the shock of the sudden explosion and 3sec landing. I hope to build a nerve of steel like the pilot someday. I hope the damage wasn't too bad.
OH stuck the landing🧐..🤔..that thing is very very cool 🤓👍
Wow that was a skilled emergency auto-rotation landing! Impressing!
Oh wow , nice save that man , right on the button . I can't even land like that on a good day ! . Very well done .
Beautiful helicopter, great job flying it. Sorry something failed but I flew so well, impressive. Also, great job landing it after the failure. I am glad it didn't get damaged very seriously. Keep sharing videos.
Awesome《☆》Great flying Bro :*: that hockey stop 180 Rockford turn maneuver was cool. Looks like it will fly again ☻
Sounds amazing!
Damn nice save
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
I like it very much. And will follow you forever❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
lol... luckily the landing was not severe or else it could be more damaging. Anyway, great flight manoeuvre!
Great Job of getting on the ground. Hope you had no damage.
Das Beste aus der Situation gemacht und toll recovered - guter Pilot 👌!!
Wow awesome skill is to get it down so smooth. Luckily the maneuver you were doing at the time put you in perfect emergency landing position!
That's possibly the coolest one I've seen so far. I want one!!
superb skill, true mastery of the aircraft.
Lucky.⭐
Saved the Heli 🚁
Wow, glad u weren't way up there when it went bad... that's an awesome RC aircraft to have landing in pieces. Great landing:)
This owner and pilot is the luckiest pilot and RC helo owner. I doubt the helo could survive from a higher altitude. The pilot has skills! Nice evaluation phishstyx. I personally like watching pre-flight assembly, take-offs, and landings.
Mind explosion seeing such a beautiful helicoper. Thnx for sharing and happy flying
You are one lucky SOB That helicopter just about dropped out of the sky with out the power. A very nice landing even without the landing gear, Thank-God for the grass! You have a very nice machine there!Kurt
Good pilot, to land like that with no fan, well done
Just a simple word for this video ..............AWSOME 👏🏼...............
very good job
Anyone know where do I can buy gigantic heli like this guy? Thx
I saw a red & white one on Ebay, slight turbine damage, otherwise great condition : / ...
Get to the chopper 🤷♂️🤣 nice save 💪🏻💪🏻
Wow, das war knapp!! Daumen hoch für den Piloten! Natürlich auch für die guten Aufnahmen ;)
I always wanted to see what $3k looked like going up in smoke. Very cool model, awesome recovery.
Beautiful Helo - Lucky the turbine failed so close to ground -Thx
Good save, lucky already close to ground & flying straight, looks fab in the air:-)
Great save!
Good emergency landing! :)
wow that is freaking amazing
Die Turbine surt. Der Motor macht brum brum. Gefällt mir.
Great to see the pilot and crew can walk away from that, more exactly walk over and retrieve. Great flare out and recovery, only time on the sticks can make that happen! The model looks so realistic head on with the heat from the exhaust! Well done for the awesome video's
Wow, great reflexes for a fantastic save!
Und trotzdem noch gut zu Boden gebracht. Respekt!!!
At least he got her on the ground without anymore serious damage to a really sweet chopper
That was a good emergency landing, albeit a wheels up one!
The cough when the fuel level drops and the engine dies. Very good landing. I hope it did not get damaged.
Lucky it was close to the ground. Great flying guys
Great model excellent auto rotation as others have said thumbs up
Lucky save. That would have been an EXPENSIVE crash :)
Not "luck" at all - pure skill. Turbine failures are very rare, and the pilot did a terrific job of getting it down without damage. Having flown R/C helis and full-sized Bell LongRanger/JetRanger helicopters, I can tell you that the real thing is much EASIER to fly than these models, even with gyros and heli-specific radios.
Thank goodness you were able to auto-rotate it successfully!
Awesome landing! Great job!
nice little auto-rotation there at the end!
+gunz-n-gadgets Hit the collective/throttle to early. Could of easily popped the gear and waited till absolute last minute to give full pitch.
+Real Life Eddy do you know how heavy that is (I don't personally) to say that he could of auto rotated that long? Maybe its a fat bird and what he did was pretty impressive to save it.
+Real Life Eddy Turbine goes boom, as the pilot you dont know why. Set it down on its belly? Or risk a several thousand dollar machine for style points? your call.
Vario mid size 1.8m models weigh around 9kg, I think this model is a 2.3m and would weigh around 13kg
Gooood.Helicopter is okay🤘😄🥁🎬
What a fantastic save!!
Sehr schickes Modell und sehr gut geflogen, würd ich auch gerne lernen.
Wie gut das er bei der Explosion gerade nicht so hoch und im sikflug war, dadurch wurde ein zerstörung sehr gut abgewendet.
Gute Notlandung.
i love helicopters
Wow fantastic flying!
Well saved was lucky the engine failed so close to a ground approach 😬👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 a bit shakey on the sticks but all in all a great flight demo 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💯
a good spanish helicopter!!! Salvamento Maritimo!! good pilot.
Good landing. Small puff of smoke @ 4'45" .
Great landing - well done.
great piloting...hope it was an easy repair.
Gibt immer Mekkerfritzen.
Kleingeister.
Fast 6 min Video, das kann jeder vor dem Start sehen.
Wollt ihr, dass es am Anfang kracht und das dann 5:30min wiederholt, in Zeitlupe, aus allen Perspektiven?
Seht Euch Crash-Action-Videos an.
Ein super 5000€ Heli, sauber und gekonnt geflogen.
Dann ein tragischer Ausfall der Turbine, dem meisterlich begegnet wurde.
Top Rettung, meine Hochachtung!
grande piloto sim senhor , controlou aquela aterragem, mesmo suave
GREAT JOB!!.
VERY GOOD PILOT AND HELICÓPTER, BRASIL OK.
Great landing!
o piloto ai teve o dom em,,,,
parabens pra ele..
Beautiful build.
You saved it. Good job.
wow.. nice flying.. it will interesting to have FPV camera on board, to see from the craft point of view..
Warning warning, engine 1 out, engine 1 out
lucked out that hapend so low to the groung, saved him thosands
Probably not ideal to have it happen so low. Helicopters are best when they have failures at higher altitudes even RC ones because they can autorotate
Models don't autorotate as well as the real thing and it's harder to practice, I'd rather have my heli quit 5ft above ground than 50ft.
Models autorotate fine. We do it all the time. Even a 500 size autorotates.
well done good run on auto landing .. keep cool and survive .
Very very beautiful HC
wow awesome save
Nice video I enjoying watching you fly your rc chopper I'm sorry you had mechanical problems very nice job landing it safely your a very good rc pilot let's go get a big boy and go fly I'm a pilot
NICE SAVE!
Nice recovery landing
Hats off to you scale, high $ flyers that keep em up. About 3 yrs ago I lost a scale Hughes 500 to a 25 cent servo control arm. Nice weathered paint, lights, full cockpit and treated/built and maintained like the full scale counterparts. Wish I could say I enjoyed flying it but tbo I was so concerned about something I had no control over "which is exactly what happened" occuring and destroying the craft, its all I thought about while flying. I still enjoy flying and watching others even more but scale, high end helis and planes were just to serious for me and I now enjoy a more relaxed attitude with less demanding/time consuming and less expensive aircraft. Glad you came out rather unscathed.
+JIMJAMSC Exactly why I dont do any sort of Air RC.. At least when I break something on a Road RC I can just swap the broken part.. A flying RC? Is mostly totalled.
I have tried it all. Cars, motorcycles, tanks, fast track cars and monster trucks. Submarines were by far the most demanding. Combining electronics with water. Making it sink and then come back up again. I had a 7 ft scale sub with ballast tanks and also a emergency tank to empty them and hopefully bring the craft back to the surface if signal is lost. Now being much older with less patience and eyesight I am into fpv small quad copters. Buzz around the yard,house.. You would have been laughed at if you imagined these when I started.
JIMJAMSC I´m also in FPV with off-roads and crawlers :D but why subs? how do you see them work? you need to dive with them or have a giant fish tank to play on?
When the nearby lake is clear I can get good reception down to 6-8 ft. Thats looking down from a dock. Most times you run partially submerged, add water which causes it to go under and bring it back up. Sold it but have a unboxed Thundertiger sub which I plan to run in my pool. BTW- I put a nice cam designed for quad copters on a 10 crawler and used goggles and almost puked. Way to jumpy. On a monitor maybe but fpv with goggles off road makes me puke.
Yeah you need a good steady cam or tune your off road to super soft suspension.
I flew RC for just over twenty years and I thought it was the greatest hobby ever. I had a dedicated workshop, an enclosed trailer to haul my stuff around in and I had acquired a few giant scale warbirds kits to keep myself busy for the next few years. As was my way each kit already had the necessary engines, landing gear, accessories and radio gear before the first two sticks were glued together....I was in heaven! Well, I was until the trap door opened in 2008, the economy tanked and I didn't know if I would have a job from one Friday to the next. I had two planes go in within a couple of weeks of one another and I started accounting for my financial loss. When I got to $3,000 and the tally wasn't even done on the first plane I knew my hobby had ended. Like so many others in the hobby, we sold our stuff for pennies on the dollar and the hobby never did recover. What a shame.
This is sad to hear. You don’t have to go that deep into it eh. Just fly some cheaper planes or helicopter. Maybe not giant scale. Keep it simple. this hobby should be fun not take over your life and finances. Hope you get to fly again.
