Engine Torque / BHP / RPM | Horsepower vs Torque | Hindi

  • Torque helps a vehicle in its acceleration. Better the torque of a vehicle, better is its acceleration. In India, automobile manufacturers mostly use ‘N m‘ as a unit for torque. In some other countries, ‘pound-foot’ (lb-ft) is used as unit for torque.
    Working of a Four Stroke Engine in Hindi with Animation : • Video
    Horse Power is one of the most important factors which determines a vehicle’s top-speed. Higher the power of a vehicle, higher is its top speed. Automobile manufacturers in India use ‘bhp‘ or ‘PS‘ as units for power. In some other countries, ‘kilowatt’ (kW) is used. ‘bhp’ is an abbreviation for ‘Brake Horse Power’ and ‘PS’ is an abbreviation for ‘Pferdesträrke’. PS and bhp are virtually interchangeable terms because of insignificant difference between them.
    1 PS = 0.98632 bhp
    Torque BHP and HP are very much related. The amount of power an engine produces at a certain rpm depends on the amount of torque produced at that rpm.
    1. HP is the output horsepower rating of an engine, while BHP is the input brake horsepower of an engine.
    2. BHP is the measurement of an engine’s power without any power losses, while HP is BHP less the power losses.
    3. HP is measured by hooking up the engine to a dynamometer, while BHP is measured in a controlled environment without anything attached to the engine.
    4.Horsepower is the total power output of an engine, while torque measures the “turning/torquing ability” of the engine. Practically, torque is a better measurement of how quickly your car will accelerate, while horsepower (relative to weight) is a better measure of your car's top speed.
    #EngineTorque #HorsePower #RPM

    BHP is known as Break horse power or British Horse power in their term.. It is actual power generated when the combustion of engine occurs.. BHP is related to Top speed of vehicle.. More BHP more top speed and vice versa.. At the same time Torque is related to Pulling power of vehicle or we can say initial power required to pull the load... More the torque more will be the pick up of bike.. Higher torque bike has advantage in drag race As they have to cover less distance.. Here speed doesn't matter here torque plays important role..

    Hi, sometimes in specifications 2 different rpm are mentioned
    Like 19bhp at 1000 rpm and
    14.7Nm at 8500 rpm
    Why there are 2 different rpm mentioned in bike specifications
    Can you please elaborate on this topic ?

    • @homosapien6745
      @homosapien6745 Před rokem

      They (BHP & Nm) are just different units of torque

    • @AbhishekYadav-dy6cn
      @AbhishekYadav-dy6cn Před rokem +1

      Because at 1000 rpm of the cylinder, max bhp ie. 19 bhp is produced
      Similarly , at 8500 rpm of the cylinder, max torque ie. 14.7 Nm is produced .. It's not important that the engine generates max. Torque & max. Bhp at the same rpm..
      Let's put it like this ,
      To get max speed , i need to drive my bike at max gear , max throat which will be high rpm .
      But Incase my bike is loaded with 100kg of sugar, my sole purpose is to drag that weight incl. my weight . So I won't be driving at top gear , top throat . No , instead I will be driving at medium gear normal throat which will be relatively low rpm than the above case. Also getting max torque at these specifications.

      Thermostat valve nai hoga toh engine cooling me problem aa Sakta he ... thermostat valve allow karta he coolant ko ....jab temp of coolant zyada hota he toh wo upper hose pipe me se flow hoke radiator me jata he .. cooling hone ke liye ....agar thermostat valve nai hoga to overheating problem hoga Jo head gasket melt ho jayega ...head banvana padega ...aur engine ko main coolant Ka zarurat hota he Jo engine me circulate Kar sake to lower down temp ...must needed thermostat valve !!

      Thermostat valve ek fixed tem pe coolent ko engine me jane dega..
      Jese k starting me jab vehicle start karte ho tab , coolent k jarurat nahi rehti jise k engine jaldi warm ho jaye. Bad me jab engii ka tem 80 degree se jyada hoga, tab thermostat valve open ho jayega aur coolent ko engine me bhejega taki proper cooling ho ske.
      So thermostat valve engine ko intial warm karne me help karta hai
