Hi Jenna! I am a cardiac ICU nurse and really feel for your situation, as I have personally experienced something similar. Unfortunately ablation success rates for afib and aflutter are pretty poor (most people have it return at some point). Medications and lifestyle changes may be your best bet for managing your symptoms. I peeked at your instagram and couldnt help but notice that you love your coffee (me too!). But coffee is probably the very worst thing you could drink. Even decaf coffee still has caffeine. There are certain foods that lead to more arrhythmias- these include things like wine, chocolate, preservatives, fake sugars, and coffee. Also if you have digestive issues and acid reflux that can exacerbate your arrhythmia as well. Making sure to get enough sleep each night and drink enough water are also really important (hard with a kid!). I know that you mentioned the low carb diet as being a trigger for your arrhythmia. Have you tried to just eat the same foods you are currently eating, but just cut back your calories on those foods? It might be less shocking to your body. Just a thought. Anyway, I really hope that you can find some relief from some lifestyle changes!! It is a difficult and frustrating thing to deal with for sure. Sending prayers and love your way ❤️🙏

Thank you for your post. I also have had skipped beats/pvcs for years which have turned into afib. I am in my 60s now and you would think I would be used to them but I'm not. I recently heard that low potassium and magnesium can make them worse. Mine have been really bad lately so I started on potassium after the dr said it was a little low. You are right about the wine, chocolate, not enough water and sleep. I also have acid reflux so maybe that's what's making them worse lately. They basically took over my life when I was young and they used to go for months and then come back. I even went a year without them. Now they are constant again and its driving me nuts. So frustrating. Thanks again.

Hi I’ve researched ablation procedures, there’s a new procedure where they do both sides of the heart inside lining as well as the outside of the heart lining successfully treating Afib with less than a 1% failure rate. Now this procedure has only been performed about 2-3 yrs ago but when I asked my Dr he knew nothing about even the external burning of the heart. As he only knew about the procedure for the inside of my left upper atria …..

I've suffered with persistent arrhythmia for over 40 years. 4 ablations have left me with bouts of nonstop pac's that last for days. I did all the dietary changes and all the dos and donts imaginable, but I still suffer. I understand the feelings of frustration and futility quite well. I have found that digestive issues and anxiety trigger mine the most. So, every day is doing what I can in these areas to reduce my attacks. Working a full time job with a high level of physical and emotional stress doesn't help and I have to fight back the urge to quit work and become homeless every day. I do get the occasional break that lasts a week or two and that's the only moments of my life when I feel like I can truly enjoy life. What a terrible way to live, but I cope knowing that I'm not going to drop dead of a heart attack and I have Jesus to help me through. Good luck with your situation and God bless!

What I’ve learned from watching your videos is that the doctors aren’t even sure of how to cure this. This is definitely a condition to be brought before God Almighty. Im 51 and have had pvcs and pacs for about a year.
I had a ekg, echocardiogram, blood work and zio patch . all test were good pacs and pvcs less than 1 percent.
It is very scary to get them but once you know that its not a dangerous heart arrhythmia its a little easier to live with it.
Have you had a zio patch at all to see your percentage of pvcs?
It does cause lots of anxiety, but try to remember there benign with a health heart.
    Your not alone!

I myself changed my diet, tyramine in foods apparently is a trigger, im trying an AIP diet, i take magnesium citrate, vit B1, D3, vit C, autoimmune disorders can aggrivate them, so diet is key. Hi Jenna, I don't have atrial flutter but I get PAC's (same as PVC's but originates in the atrium) to the point where it can be "skipping" 30 times per minute and last for hours. I also occasionally get tachycardia and when that mixes with PAC's its not a fun ride. I'm doing very well now in comparison and am pretty much living normal again. I certainly understand the mental toll it can take. What I wanted to say is that for almost everyone, those who suffer from these types of heart disturbances (and who have a structurally normal heart) that stress and anxiety is unquestionably the biggest culprit. Once that can get that under control things improve dramatically. The key thing is to eventually lose your fear of it. And if you think about it, there is really nothing to fear because in reality, people do not get heart attacks or die from these conditions when their heart is structurally normal. It sucks, it's uncomfortable, but it's not dangerous. Once you can truly internalize that point things get better. I would also suggest to stop googling symptoms which honestly feeds fear. Losing your fear takes a lot of effort and it's difficult, but persistence pays off. I would also like to say that random attacks even when you don't "feel" stressed is also common. You had mentioned you get them in times of rest and that's true for most of us. I think most of us get so used to being highly anxious that we don't realize we are stressed when we think we are relaxed. I think an overly stressed system is like that 24/7...with peaks and valleys. It takes time for your body to truly come down from chronic stress. Now having said all of this, anxiety and stress isn't the only trigger, but honestly if you get that under control, they magically reduce to the point where they aren't problematic anymore.

@@sovereignsoulutions6612 At it's worst, yes it got that bad. But keep in mind that it didn't happen often or regularly. I had days where I would get 5 per minute, 1 per minute...and maybe some days where I would get zero or maybe only 2 or 3 all day. It was random and it came and went. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to deal with your fear of them, and not react to them. At it's peak when I had periods of 30/minute I was highly anxious about them, which encouraged more of them...it's a vicious cycle. Fear brings them on to a higher intensity, no doubt about it. Once you deal with them mentally and stop reacting to them, they either significantly reduce or go away completely. I still get them, but not anywhere near what I was getting before. My life is back to normal. So when I get them now, it is just an annoying nuisance. I tell myself they will go away if I don't stress about it and they always do eventually. The key thing is patience...it takes a while for the fear to come down...it's not an overnight miracle cure. But once you have trained yourself to relax, you get your life back and its not the focal point of your existence anymore.

I was exactly where you are...worried, anxious, borderline depressed and fixated on my heart 24/7. But once I realized that anxiety was the main trigger, I was able to reduce them to the point where it's not an issue in my life anymore, just an annoyance at times. Anxiety isn't the only trigger, but by far it is the one that makes them worse and dominant. And also as a side point, anxiety also shuts off the reasoning part of your brain, and it lies to you saying you will never get out of it. I'm here to tell you that's a lie. With work and persistence, you will take charge again. And yes, I feel every single one of them!! And the more keyed up you are, the harder they pound. Lots of good videos on youtube. If you were getting Palps when on Low carb diet, why did you keep persevering with it? Low carb, high fat messed me up big-time & palps were a big issue. Since going plant-based & getting plenty of magnesium I rarely, if ever get palps. They very often stem from the digestion rather than the heart itself. If the digestion is struggling it stresses other organs, including the heart......

So I don't want to make this into a book and I don't even know where to start. I feel like it was no accident that I came across your videos, probably like anybody else like came here looking for answers and accidentally came across your videos. So I'm quite a bit older than you I'm 51 and I've always had an anxiety disorder since I can remember. I started having panic attacks in 1994, after a horrific and dangerous divorce. I was diagnosed with PTSD and put on xanax. I got through that, remarried a wonderful person and we are about to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I had a good 15-year reprieve from anxiety while I was working for the school district. I loved my job I loved my coworkers and I was happy. Covid came along, I was diagnosed with a blood disorder that put me a higher risk so I decided to retire early. You would think being home would be relaxing and I could just do whatever I want, but no. I started getting tachycardia that landed me in the ER twice. But that was a couple months after I was getting these weird fluttering sensations in my throat, which I now know her palpitations.I have my follow-up with a cardiologist after my ER visits and he told me that my EKGs looked abnormal and that I might have had a heart attack. That started the spiral that I'm in now because ever since he said that, I have not been able to take my mind off my heart so I feel it all the time whether it's beating normally or not. Sometimes I feel that it's going fast and I'll take my pulse and it's 74. Now, I know when I'm going to have the weird feeling because my stomach starts acting up. The best way I can describe it is when you're on a roller coaster and you're about to drop and you get that weird empty feeling in your stomach, sure enough I know my heart is going to start acting weird. Anyways, so I just finished having all of my testing done. I had five EKGs, an echocardiogram, a 14-day holter monitor, and a nuclear stress test. Literally everything came back normal even though during the monitor time, I ended up in the ER after having really worst panic attack I've ever had in my entire life. I ended up having to call 911 because I thought I was going to pass out and I was in my car parked waiting for my daughter to get out of work. It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced in my life. I was hyperventilating I'm sure so my hands went numb, I was so dizzy and disoriented nothing was making sense to me my heart was racing it felt like it had to have been going 200 beats per minute. When I finally got to the hospital it was 130. Anyways, I have been trying so hard to figure out what is happening to me and why even after they tell me that I'm completely normal my heart is structurally normal I don't have any type of arrhythmia, that I'm still getting these palpitations and tachycardia. I'm starting to put together symptoms and I'm noticing a pattern now. When my upper stomach feels off or full of gas or I feel bloated, sure enough I know my heart is going to act weird I'm either going to feel the palpitations or I'm going to have tachycardia. I've been researching different foods and food allergies and I've already been gluten free for the last 10 years so it's not gluten for me and I don't know what it is to be honest but I do know that there is some type of connection with either a food allergy for a lot of us or there's also a syndrome called gastric cardio syndrome or rome-held syndrome and it's very much misdiagnosed. If you have a structurally normal heart and a structurally normal gastric system, there are medications to treat it. I already take magnesium and have for almost 20 years but during times of stress even if we're on supplements, they get depleted. Every time I get that feeling, I either start pacing or I start jogging or I start doing something to take my mind off of it and sometimes that works but not always. I don't know why I'm rambling I guess I'm just trying to say that you're not alone either and I think we're all trying to figure out what is happening with us especially in the absence of an arrhythmia. I know for me a lot of it is anxiety but like this morning for example, I didn't feel anxious at all yet 2 hours after I took all my normal supplements(magnesium vitamin d l-theanine for anxiety, fish oil) lorazepam and my dicyclomine because I also have ibs, I still had palpitations and it was because my stomach was feeling weird. I feel like if I could get that part under control I would stop having this. I don't know where to turn to next but I know that even through all the things I've been through in my life, I was a very happy to Lucky positive person up until a couple months ago when this started. It has made me so anxious and depressed and I feel like I'm never going to get my life back. Praying for all of us! 🙏

Obviously you are sensitive to foods containing stimulants. It would be beneficial to eliminate sugar, caffeine, chocolate, etc from your diet. I am 63 y.o. and I have lived with heart palpitations and irregular heart rate most of my life. Whenever I drink caffeinated drinks or eat chocolate or sugary foods, my heart rate will become uncomfortably fast and will beat irregularly. I have never taken any medication or had any procedures done. I just watch what I eat and avoid caffeine, chocolate and sugar. I believe this will help with your palpitations, and if you avoid sugary foods (try substituting sugar with fruit), you will definitely lose weight. Also, heart medications, such as Metoprolol, have serious long term side effects and cause weight gain, which is counterproductive to your weight loss goals. Hope this helps. Wishing you all the best.

Possible solution: I'm not a doctor, but I've been having heart palpitations too recently, among other issues I've developed because of POTS, and doctors just say it's stress, which I'm certain it's not. There are several reason why a person could have heart palpitations, but I believe that your issue is the same as mine. Because of my other issues I started eating more veggies and cut out bread, salt and sugar. I had only a few palpitations until I started that diet, then my palpitations, including hard beats and skipping beats, lasted for 4 days, going almost all day. I fixed my palpitations by taking iodine for my thyroid; and electrolytes for my heart, calcium, magnesium, potassium and salt. I ate bannans, potatoes, had a multivitamin with iodine and potassium, took a liquid iodine supplment (about 400 extra iodine worked for me) and took a separate potassium supplement. There are risks involved in megadosing, so research into how much to take would be beneficial, but palpitations and surgery seemed like a far worse option than the small risk for me. Too much potassium supplments can cause kidney issues, but we don't always absorb all of the nutrients, and on a short term basis, at least to determine if it's working, likely won't do any harm (but again I'm not a doctor, not that they are much help). Since you are prediabetic you may not be absorbing the nutriets well. I had to take well more of iodine than the daily amount and that above all helped my case. You may also want to look into insulin resistance and vitamin deficiencies, since that may be hindering your electrolyte absorption. Dr. Berg has a good video on it. Generally speaking, I believe that Iodine, electrolytes, and increasing other vitamins to decrease insulin resistance, including a B complex, may help your cause. I wish you the best.

Hi Jenna ...I feel your pain because I have also have alot of palps , but as late ..actually more than usual. I have had them since I was in my 30s, now in my 60s and they told me at that time they were pvcs, skipped beats, and benign, to basically live with them. After awhile they turned into afib and I am on metroprolol 25 mg twice a day. When I get an attack, I throw water on my face or bear down like I'm having a bowel movement. That seems to always work well. I went to see a heart specialist a couple of years ago because my family dr also mentioned ablation because I was bugging him so much. When I was waiting to see the dr, I talked to a woman who had 3 heart ablations and she was still having afib and palps. That pretty much did it for me as for getting one of them. With my luck, I'm sure they would return. Reading what the ICU nurse said below confirms what that lady said. I know lack of sleep sometimes puts my heart into afib and I also heard low in potassium and magnesium can do it also. I just found this out recently. When I get the afib, my heart can run up to 150 to 180. It's very scary and unless you went thru it, no one really knows what you feel. I used to call myself "queen of the skipped beats" lol. Please post another video and let us know how your doing. When you were talking, I felt like it was me except that now I get them more than usual. I wish that I could get another heart monitor put on me but since I had so many, they feel that I'm wasting their time because they know what it is...except now, they are so many that I feel that it has to be something more and different. Also, try not to avoid activities in hopes of avoiding the possibility of palpitations. If we do that, our mind makes a conscious and unconscious link that associates palpitations with that activity. This creates fear. And guess what happens the next time you do that activity...here come the palpitations right on cue. I remember for a while I would always get palpitations when making dinner. I started associating making dinner with palpitations and for a while it happened like clockwork every day. Once I finally convinced myself that it wasn't rational, and that your heart does not know what time of day it is...it stopped happening. In the end, it's all about getting stress levels down and training yourself to not fear symptoms. It's not dangerous, it's just uncomfortable. It make take you a few months to get there, but trust me when I say you can manage this condition for sure.

@@jennachesser4798 I posted this in another thread but you have to find a process that works for you in terms of reducing your fear of them. There are lots of ways to do that, but you have to find something that resonates with you. What works for me may not work for you. Google searches can suggest techniques to reduce fear. But one thing I will say is this: no matter what techniques you use, you must face it head on and avoidance is the worst thing you can do. Fear gets stronger with avoidance. Facing it head on can feel scary initially, but that's the key to getting past it. More of a bring it on attitude versus "oh no, if I do that I will get palpitations". Once you start gaining some success, your confidence grows and it starts to get better. And just for the record, I know all about anxiety as I have struggled with it in the past. GAD, panic attacks...had it all. I have also been able to heal from that as well. You can too.

Hello, doctor’s may guess but they don’t really know why these palpitations happen at your sleeping time. When you sleep at night that’s the time when you are more susceptible to influences from the invisible world. Some people don’t feel much, but these energies can cause a lot of distress on sensitive people, and each person has a weak point. Some people feel this burden on their stomach, others on their head, others on their heart, etc. I’m not a Christian, so please don’t patronize me, but on your next crisis try to open your Bible on Salm 23 and read it loudly, as many times as necessary . I have seen it work over and over again. The bad invisible influences will leave and you will feel much better. Just try it, you have nothing to loose. And you don’t have to become a Christian either.

I was just diagnosed last week with PVC’s. Out of the blue, last July, it started with lightheadedness. Thought it was maybe the heat? Was really hot here. Anyhow, forward to September, I called in sick for work, went to a clinic, thought I was pre heart attack, doctor said it was severe anxiety. BLOOD pressure, heart rate was normal. Sent for an EKG, BLOOD WORK, everything was normal. So I’m like what’s going on. So of course, everything that hurts, aches, pains,, etc.. your anxiety and stress goes though the roof. Finally, I said enough is enough. Went to family doctor, and was sent for bloodwork, came back fine. Was sent for ECG-echo, stress test. They couldn’t even check my blood pressure bc the palpitations were crazy. They did the echo, and it showed my heart was healthy, just “happy “, giving an extra beat! 🙄 but my palpitations went away with movement, worse when I’m stationary. I was told they’re not fatal, but more of a life thing.. how much do they bother you. I had the holster on for 48 hours.. I’m awaiting the results of that next week. But I do know, they dint bother me, but when they do hit, I get lightheaded, and a small hint of a headache.. that’s more of an issue.. when I saw your channel, I thought wow, someone who gets it. It is a life thing, it doesn’t go away.. I bet where you’re coming from.. it’s nit easy.. I stress eat, and that doesn’t help,, bc now you’re gaining weight, and that’s not good for the heart either.. you definitely can’t win.. I’m hoping there will be some answers next week, when I speak to my doctor. Fingers crossed

Gotta be active and creative in eating at home, being physically active, Mentally discipline in achieving piece of mind, which will help nutrition wise with consistency.
I think you already know this, its just application😂
Caffeine is a huge contributor... Imbalance thyroid will cause this palpitations, you have to get blood work for that I recall. But stimulants is a must to cut out.
Exercising will allow you to manage stress better by tolerating aggressive thresholds through vigorous movement, preserving under these stressful situations helps with self control
I have them, they're more infrequent once I cut out preworkout supplements, I've taken them for years! And had palpitations for years, just not long as yours
When I was Doing bodybuilding shows, potassium supplements was recommended to aid in cramping. however, one 99mg tablet generated heart palpitations with me😂 I hated them! This occurred multiple shows until I realized it was the potassium in the other supplements also that were the onset. So potentially having a potassium rich diet can trigger flutters.
My eating habits are strict currently, so I'm close to narrowing the primary culprit that causes these flutters. But then again, being fit with a slow heart rate allegedly cause them.
I drink 1gal a day to dilute my blood... Dehydration get alot of Americans in trouble😂.
I mention these to say, be naturally consistent in effort to get a grasp on things. Don't think a pill will fix anything, if you're serious you'll be discipline to make necessary accommodations!
-and if you have to have coffee try decaf or a b-complex vitamin. The vitamin help me psych myself into not depending on caffeine, and decaf is basically alcohols-less beer😂😂
