This song is DEFINITELY the most under-rated but i think that shows the level of soundtrack that arcane gave us. That THIS masterpiece is getting looked over. Glad you made a reaction to this one!
Not only is it underrated, it's pretty much the only thing I care about now in the entirety of Arcane. That scene in "The Last Drop" with Vander and Powder was sublime. And then the idiot writers ruined everything in Ep3. They held a sparkling jewel in their hands, then shattered it to create another pedestrian grimdark anime. Now, Curtis Harding's great song is saddled with the baggage of Vander's imminent murder (and I can't imagine that's the association that Harding would want.)

Not sure what you would've wanted the show to be, the ending of episode 3 is universally agreed upon to be one of the greatest twists of all time, and the writing was genius throughout the entire show in my opinion, from start to finish. Sorry you didn't enjoy it, that sucks.
@@andstriker "Not sure what you would've wanted the show to be" -- What I wanted was everything the show promised to be in Ep 1: kids adventuring in a steampunk setting. (Then the show-writers decided, after I've invested two episodes of my time, "No! You don't get that! We're going to murder the boys and everyone else interesting (Zander, the lady cop, etc), and then bury you under a lot of dull political intrigue. "the ending of episode 3 is universally agreed upon..." -- I don't agree, so obviously agreement isn't universal. And the majority of media shills are of no consquence, and bandwagon fallacies are a logical error. "...one of the greatest twists of all time...." M. Night Shyamalan movies have twists too, and most of them suck.
@@mikeschneider5077 Well, if it's any consolation (spoiler alert), Vander will most likely make a return in Season 2 in the form of Warwick. And S2 will most likely have a lot more of an 'adventure' feel to it. But yeah I mean, I see where you're coming from, but I think the gritty politics of Piltover, the evolution/separation of Jinx and Vi, Viktor and Jayce's storyline as well as all the surrounding characters' stories more than make up for what was lost in the deaths of Vander, Mylo, Claggor, etc. But we all have our own opinions.
@@andstriker -- Let me make an analogy: Let's say that, after the first couple of Harry Potter movies, the show-writers decided to gruesomely kill Harry and Ron and several of the charismatic teachers who'd had the most lines of dialogue, and that, henceforth, the series would be about Hermione and Voldemort's creepy, hopefully not sexual (dear God, do we ever hope not) relationship. Oh, what a twist! What magic! What a disaster. -- Instead of an entirely new story that uses the games *setting* to great effect (for example, ask yourself why we are not taken aboard a steampunk airship in the entire first season -- now go watch the opening scene of "Laputa: Castle in the Sky"), we get grimy trench politics featuring Joker and Harley (er, Silco and Jinx). The last three minutes of ep2 are magical. What a great song by Curtis Harding. Vander's "The Last Drop" should have been focus of the first year, with no administrative character from the upper city introduced at all.
I'm a big fan of when shows play songs that on paper don't really fit the situation, this one is quite happy for the scene that is happening, but for some reason it creates even MORE tension because of the clash of styles, I love this technique so much, such an underrated song.
You see this in Guardians of the Galaxy a bunch, and it *WORKS*

It's sad that this is one of the least listened to song on the soundtrack. It's in my top 3; the scene that accompanies it is just so vivid every time I hear it and I love it.
Admittedly the genre and era they modelled it after isn't for everyone, i enjoyed it tho

This song represents Vi willing to do 'the right thing' for her family. To keep them safe from her actions that got them there. Making the last scene of Episode 2 in Act 1, a very complex scene to present the songs fitting mood for Vi's love to Powder. Even when Powder knew she'll never see her again.

whenever I walk home from school I just play this song and just my whole sore body and all the stress just mixes in with the beat and is nullified, the sunset feels so warm and I think to my life, it is what it is.
The Song just adds the feeling to the scene in Arcane like thats just how life is down here (Post Zaun) and everybody down here looking out for each other in their own way. It is what it is.
This is my go to Arcane music when I just want to relax my mind while working. It soothes my stress somehow.
That awesome, AWESOME song with sad Powder sighing at the bar, the bunny, Vander trying to cheer her up... such a warm, lovely moment in a tragic situation.
This is one of my favorite songs from the show. I still can't believe people didn't give the deserved credit to it, as they did to the others. It brings me so many memories and joy.

I love it when they use songs like this. All the Diegetic music in the show is underrated as fuck. They set the tone of the scene so well especially as its the music the characters are listening to it. It's subtle world building and great music.

Only just discovered this song. An absolute belter. I don’t know if it’s only just come out on Netflix in the Uk but had I not walked in the living room last week whilst my kids were watching Arcane I would probably never knew it existed. I was immediately hooked in about four bars. Haven’t stopped playing it all week whilst on the road with work. Heading home now so I’ll be getting my bass guitar out to start cracking that bass line ❤

I think in the soundtrack, this is probably my least favorite, but it's still great. I think it is honestly underrated cause hearing it now as I'm typing this, it just hits different. There's really not a single bad song in this entire album. The songwriters and musicians and vocalists just knocked everything out of the park. Fuck, everything about this show is absolute perfection.
