  • INGREDIENTS:
    For Dal Boiling:
    * Toor dal (तुअर दाल) - 1/2 bowl
    * Water (पानी) - 4-5 bowl
    * Salt (नमक) - as per taste
    * Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर) - 1/4 tsp
    * Oil (तेल) - spoon
    For Dal Fry
    * Oil (तेल) - 2 spoon
    * Cumin seed (जीरा) - 1/2 tsp
    * Mustard seeds (राई) - 1/2 tsp
    * Curry leaves (कड़ी पत्ता) - some
    * Asafoetida (हींग) - 1 pinch
    * Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर) - 1/4 tsp
    * Red chili powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) - 1/4 tsp
    * Tomato, Green chili, Ginger Paste (टमाटर, हरी मिर्च, अदरक का पेस्ट)
    * Salt (नमक) - as per taste
    * Garam masala (गरम मसाला) - 1/4 tsp
    * Jaggery (गुड़) - as per taste
    * Lemon juice (नींबू का रस) - as per taste
    * Coriander leaves (धनिया पत्ती) - for garnishing
    * Ghee (घी) - some
    * Peanut (मूंगफली) - some
    For Dhokli:
    * Gram flour (बेसन) - 1/4 bowl
    * Wheat flour (गेहूं का आटा) - 1/2 bowl
    * Salt (नमक) - some
    * Red chili powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) - 1/2 tsp
    * Carom seeds (अजवाइन) - 1/2 tsp
    * Oil (तेल) - 1 spoon
    * Water (पानी) - as required
    * Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर)
    * Spinach paste (पालक का पेस्ट)
    * Beetroot powder (चुकंदर पाउडर)
    For Tadka:
    * Ghee (घी) - 1 spoon
    * Dry red chili (सूखी लाल मिर्च) - 1-2
    * Curry leaves (कड़ी पत्ता) - some
    * Cumin seeds (जीरा) - 1/2 tsp
    * Red chili powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) - 1/4 tsp
    RECIPE:
    Soak Tuar Dal for 30 mins. Cook the dal in Cooker by putting Salt, Turmeric Powder & Oil. Give it 2 whistles.
    For Dhokli, take Gram Flour & Wheat Flour, put Salt, Red Chili Powder, Carom Seeds & Oil in it. Mix them all & divide it into 3 parts.
    Put Turmeric Powder in one part, Spinach Paste in the second part & Beetroot Powder in the third part. Bind the dough separately & rolled the dough like Chapati. Cut them in pieces.
    In a pan, put Oil, Cumin Seeds, Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves, Asafoetida, Turmeric Powder, Red Chili Powder & Tomato, Green Chili, Ginger Paste then cook them. Put Salt, Garam Masala boiled Dal & cook it. Then put some Jaggery & Lemon Juice. When the Dal starts boiling, put Dhokli, some Water then cover it & cook it on a medium flame for 7-8 mins.
    In a pan, put Ghee & fry the Peanuts. Put fried Peanuts in Dal & garnish some Coriander Leaves.
    In the remaining ghee, put Dry Red Chili, Curry Leaves, Cumin Seeds, Red Chili Powder & give Tadka to the Dal Dhokli.
    Serve Gujarati Style Dal Dhokli with Rice.
