Kate Hudson truly got her mother in her for that comedic talent 100%. I thought I was listening to Goldie Hawn with my eyes closed

When he started talking, I was looking away from the screen and I started wondering “Why are they playing the clip of Daniel Craig again? Nobody tried it again yet” and then I look back and it’s Leslie. He’s great at it

i think she has the potential to do it with enough practice (and if she had to do it for a serious role, not just a fun game) - like when they replayed Craig going "the hunt, the challenge" she sort of mutters it in the same cadence as he did (as before the clip she used a different tone, more flair). but then ofc you get Leslie Odom Jr. and Kate Hudson actively breaking down what they need to nail the accent and they just blow it out of the water 😂

He does have the benefit of a deeper voice than the rest though. Kate Hudson was actually pretty good if you can ignore the fact her voice is higher in tone

What's great about Craig's accent is that even though it sounds weird at first and you're like "What in the world is that accent?", he's consistent with it, so it's not like some messed up accent that he can't get right. It's just sort of his own thing for this particular character that makes him unique. With a bit of Foghorn Leghorn mixed in :)
ohhh you got it! yeah, that's what makes it a believable accent at the end of the day - plenty of people have accents that aren't quite the same as the typical accent of their home/demographic/etc, maybe they're influenced by the media they watch or the education they received or just a physical thing that makes them pronounce words differently, but ultimately it's just the way they talk. Craig makes it believable that it's just the way Benoit talks.

Jessica Henwick's is really great. Kate Hudson's is on point, just as good as Leslie Odom Jr's, it's just that he also has the deeper manly register to match Daniel Craig.
You're right. Kate's diction was fine, she just can't match the bass rumble that the accent needs to really mimic Craig.

Leslie Odom Jr. has the best voice for it but Kate Hudson's impressions was what helped him nail it even more.
Leslie was amazing but we all know that if they had asked Kathryn, she would have done the best impression of all. She nailed it in the movie as well.

This was fascinating! The two women were just trying to imitate Craig and one didn't even seem to be trying all that hard. Then Leslie and Kate had a go and I saw how seasoned actors approached the assignment. "There's something with his mouth." "We're missing the joy." "New Awleans." They were working out how to become Craig's character, not just copy his speech. I like seeing how they approach the craft.
To be fair Jessica did a pretty good job and if you pair her with others I reckon she would take it more seriously

Daniel Craig is amazing with the accent, and I have practiced the accent a few times, and it's hard, but after going through the 1st Knives Out ending script and reading Benoit's lines about a million times, I think I have gotten the accent down...
But the rest of the cast right here did so much better than I could.

The AAV accent isnt far off from Southern accents & developed from very specific regional accents across the South. And since Leslie Odom Jr. is a performer in theatre it doesn’t surprise me he nails Blanc’s accent best. Blanc is a mix of the poshy Southern accent with a good amount of embelishment (its an antiquated accent the way Blanc talks, you don’t hear it often these days. A bit like the Mid-Atlantic accent that was popular in the early 20th century or Angelina Jolie’s English accent she puts on in movies.)

If you really want to twist your brain look up the small group of people in North Carolina that still speak with an English accent. It’s the strangest sounding thing. This community has lived semi-isolated on this island off the northern outer banks for a few hundred years and never really lost the original English accent. Instead, the southern accent has creeped in. It’s what people must have sounded like in the 16-1700’s, as the English accent began phasing out amongst the colonials
