I'm so sad to hear that your beautiful Winny has passed. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Thank you; we appreciate that ❤️❤️ she was the best girl!
We lived in an Arch A Frame. Think like an upside down boat. One possible idea for you. If you are going to redo your “roof”, think about popping out the kitchen. It will square out the kitchen and by doing that you could work in your dishwasher!!
Isn’t it heart stopping when the snow slides!! 😂
It really is! 😆❄️ I really dig the arch style A-frames; got to stay I one once. The curves feel even more cozy. ☺️ Thanks for the ideas!
the worlds cutest couple and my top favorite CZcamsrs.
🥰 ahh thank you!
I feel you have to live in a space for a while until things fall into place. Usually 3-5 years.
I have renovated multiple small homes and currently live in a 500sqft converted garage that I gutted and redesigned.
Here are my recommendations.
Buy 24” appliances, 18” dishwasher or install a dishwasher drawer, can be pricy but worth it. I put 18” dishwashers in all my properties.
Replace hot water tank with tankless and put in laundry room.
Keep laundry room and turn into pantry storage and add a window and perhaps buy a small upright freezer is nice to have.
Convert downstairs bedroom into office space and move upstairs until you build your office shed.
When replacing your roof, keep existing one and sheath it with metal, definitely cut in sky lights.
Before you start any projects I would definitely work on what brings you in income first like building RV hook ups for tinies.
Place looks awesome, don’t be in a rush, best of luck to you both, can’t wait to see the progress.
Awesome suggestions 💯👏🏾👏🏾😁
Fantastic recommendations; thank you!! We were thinking of adding insulation on top of existing roof then the metal-seems like it wouldn’t hurt. I think you’re so right about needing a generous amount of time in your home before diving into big changes. 😊 Definitely curious to see your garage conversion! Please email us if you might be open to filming with us: info@tinyhouseexpedition.com 🙏💫
Also My Condolences 4 Winny🙏n Congrats on your Beautiful A- Frame Cabin THE🎉🔥🔥🔥👍!!!…
Thank you very much 🥰💫❤️🐶
🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤❤ For Winnie
@@cynthiacarr2093 💗
Vault the ceiling. To me thats part of the attraction of the A frame, having that large vaulted main room.
It really is 😊 we’re leaning that way!
Sheet rock and keep 3rd bedroom is my vote. Lovely home
Thank you for the feedback! 🙏✨
Sorry for The Loss of Winny. What A Beautiful Dog She Was.🙏🏻🐕🙏🏻
Animals Bring Happiness To Family
Members. Your A Frame Home is Beautiful. I Love The FireStove and Your New Chair Looks Very Comfy Alexis.😊😊
Thank you very much ❤️ and definitely gotta love a good cozy vibe!
I like A frames, might consider that the extra upstairs bedroom is actually helping your heat to be more easily regulated just by how much heat you alow upstairs. It is really practical, and allows an extra room for office or creative space. looks like an enjoyable space.😊 sounds like you two are having fun figuring it out.
Had to watch(parts) twice, just to observe and see it all! I'm so glad you A, C, got this plot of land! You are super creative and resourceful, that I am sure you would come up with a solution. My option would be to add a 2nd A-frame perpendicular to the bedroom/living wall and put the w/d in it/ mudroom entrance. Then have the office above that space. Great ad A, as usual a good sales person 😁.
🥶🖤👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰
That’s a great point! Heat regulation is definitely something we should think about. We’ve gone back & forth on it. It is fun to dream up creative solutions & bigger renovation ideas! 😊
@MBMCincy63 thank you for kind feedback! You are so darn sweet. ☺️ We have tossed around the mud room addition of some but hadn’t considered a mini A-frame in the way you suggested. That would be adorable & super helpful 👌😁
@@TinyHouseExpedition thank you both 💓💓
I LOVE the A frame! Always have been a fan of them and actually have a couple family members who have built and lived in them for many years. One about the size you have and another about 3 times the size of your current! Best advice is to build for YOU as I am sure is no surprise and what you do! Best is to think about your future in the plan. Do you plan to stay in that house forever? Live your life in the NOW but in the future can you adjust anything so their are no stairs to climb other than on occasion? Apparently there is a downstairs bedroom now that can become one again. I think your laundry/mud room is a must! Rebuild it properly. Bring it up to that window. Regardless I love it they way it is honestly. Just give your future a little thought and what will make sense now also!
It’s so cool what you can do with big A-frames! This is truly excellent advice. Longterm planning is absolutely the way to go. Really like your thinking about how the downstairs bedroom can always be used like that again, so would be worth thinking on keeping the wall up. Thank you very much! 🙏✨
My step grandparents had a A frame vacation house. It was 1850 sq feet. It was always a fun house to stay in. Looking forward to seeing what you do! We have a curved TV & love it!
Ahhh that’s so great! Thanks ❤️
Thank you for sharing your home. I love it! You're going to have so much fun getting it just how you want it. You two are so creative. My heartfelt condolences on Winnie. Our pups bring us such joy.
Appreciate you! Dogs are the absolute best. We still miss her so much so taking our time before committing to a new pup. But when we do, we’re gonna get 2! ❤️💕
Rather than sheet rock that ceiling, I would just add a bunch of lights to make it interesting, like you see in restaurants and malls.
Like how you think! We’ll noodle on that 😀
I think the house is perfect, I would live there and in that property happily. Here are a couple of tips: 1) I would not paint the living room walls in dark colors (green) because the limited amount of light you have. I would paint them white so that the light can bounce of the walls making it seem brighter. You have beautiful dark woods, let them be the focal point. 2) I would get rid of the big water heater and install an on-demand unit, they are way smaller and gives you room for some storage and saves you water.
Thanks for the suggestions!! On-demand would be so much more space-efficient. Definitely need one that’s meant for colder climates ❄️
Love the A-frame. The slanted wood walls give that wonderful cabin in the woods (which it is!) feel, and it's just a cozy happy space. And the potential is truly amazing -- love your ideas for it. You were smart to buy this land and house (and outbuildings).
Thanks very much! We really feel like the stars aligned at the perfect time-so much gratitude for this lovely place. Definitely excited to figure out how to make it even better! 💗
Love your house ❤❤❤. A possible idea is maybe fully open up the upstairs and have that be the primary bedroom then maybe have the downstairs bedroom for your son
Thank you kindly! That's a good idea. I'd really like to see if we could make a Murphy bed work downstairs; the kind that folds down horizontally 🙂
Congratulations Christian and Alexia, Your Beautiful A-Frame Home is Spacious and Well Thought Out to Use each room differently. Now You Both aren't on top of each other. Take Your time to expand Your rebuilding and starting a Community is Nice. Thanks for Sharing Enjoyed and Blessings 🙏❤️🥰😇 From Pennsylvania,USA
Taking our time is truly great advice because why rush! Thank you for the sweet thoughtful feedback ❤️
When doing a project, mine turned out best when I took the time to ponder it. I had a ugly high back porch, very plain, just a roof. It took me years to decide what to do. I added walls on the two sides, and mini roofs over them. You will find barns like it. Turned out beautiful, that is what gave me the idea. It also gave us a wind break, and privacy. Love your new place!!
Such a lovely property! I've wanted an A-Frame for forever. If this were mine, I'd make an open floorplan, insulate and add windows! 1 BR upstairs, expand LR and kitchen areas. Oh, what FUN! 😊
Company can camp outside with outside showers😂😅😅
Appreciate your sweet feedback! The open floorplan is very appealing 😊
If you want to keep the room over the living room, you might consider painting in between the beams. It would add a nice effect, make it appear lighter (if you use a light colour, or even sage green), and be affordable. ❤
❤Good people love Dolly! Beautiful spaces. Love that 70s vibe❤
Dolly is an American treasure!! 💖🥰
If you do a new roof I would do dormer windows which will add room inside instead of doing skylights. I would also make your current room into your office space with some sort of Murphy bed combo that has shelves that pivot on a rod so nothing falls off when you lower the bed! I would also rebuild the back section to go the entire width of the house to create a laundry room & extend the kitchen.
Nice fixer upper. I see lots of ideas of my own. The living area, I'd leave the floor joists exposed and paint or cover the ceiling in between a light color. Put a skylight/ window near the coat/ shoe area. Under the steps in the kitchen. I'd put a full length door where the spice rack is and make a pullout pantry behind it. If there's enough room to utilize it as such. Make the downstairs bedroom into an office area for both of you together. Put the washer/ dryer on the perhaps outside wall. In the same room. That would give you a larger deck area outside. Put the mini-split above it as it is now. Or put it in the master bedroom upstairs. If it's a dual zone type. You could do both bedroom and office/laundry room. I don't know how big the downstairs bedroom is. So that would be the deciding factor on that. Just ideas I thought I'd share with you. All and all, it's your baby. Be the creative couple that you are. Good luck, can't wait to see the dreams you have for it come true.
Excellent suggestions; thank you! Really like your kitchen and living room ceiling ideas--so much to consider! But that's a big part of the fun😀
Really really sorry about Winny. Thank you guys for the tour of your new home. Can't wait to see what y'all do with the laundry room but either way I'd put the water heater in the laundry room. I'd also be tempted to take out the room above the living room. Vaulted ceilings in the living room would be amazing and beautiful. I'd use that shed with the porch as your office. Just my thoughts. Anyway I'm sure y'all will blow us away with whatever you decide to do. God bless you 2 always 🤗🤗
Thank you ❤️ it’s such a shame our fur babies can’t live forever! Also really appreciate the feedback. Vaulted ceilings in A-frames are so magical 🥹✨
I love your tiny home! Just some advice, I would keep all three bedrooms. As u get older having options at times becomes necessary. I had fractured my foot and have had surgeries for other issues, just getting in out of bed was challenging. When I or my husband gets the flu etc I’ll sleep in the guest room. I love all the updates you’ve made it’s so cozy! 🥰👍🏻
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! You make a really great point; flexibility is quite valuable. 😊💕
Sorry for ur loss. Absolutely love ur tiny house. ❤😊
Thank you very much
The entire property is full of magic and beautiful! Thanks for sharing ❤
We absolutely love it! Appreciate your sweet support, always 😊💞
Your property is beautiful and your house is really cute! 😊
Thanks!! 😊
I love your A frame, I want one.
Love the A Frame!! Don’t get a dishwasher!! It will take up too much cabinet space!!
That is a concern for sure! Thanks for the love ❤️
I'm so happy to finally see your beautiful (new) property and home fully lived in! Your short-term and long-term plans sound so exciting! I'm especially excited that you'll be creating your own little tiny house village! ...I've been wondering where Winny's been. Now I know. She crossed over the rainbow bridge. 🌈 ❤
We are beyond grateful for our lil homestead and that Winnie got to spend her last couple years enjoying roaming across it & lounging all over the A-frame ❤️🥹
@TinyHouseExpedition Ah-ha!!! it IS Winnie like Winnie-the-Pooh! That's how I was originally gonna spell it, but then I saw all these other comments that spelled it Winny. So I was like, okay I guess. 🤷🏻♀️😂
@@ILOLnumber1 😂 but funny enough she’s named after Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Year show 😉
@@TinyHouseExpedition Ohhhh!!! I loved her character! 🥰
Keep the third bedroom. I would not let it go, it accommodated you once and it will again.
Thanks for showing your A-frame and property! You’ve been teasing us long enough-lol😀
😂 true! You are most welcome 😊✨
Congratulations on your new property! God bless you all!!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Very warm welcoming place you have!😎👍
Thank you ☺️ ✨
Omg. Yall gotta look into a counter top dishwasher. Best purchase of my life.
Absolutely will do-thanks! 😁
I absolutely love your . Amazing house. You asked for tips/suggestions: painting some of the dark wood “roof/walls” a bright and airy shade like white, or light yellow, will make the house look even more spacious!
Like how you think! Thank you for the sweet suggestion 😊💛
@@TinyHouseExpedition thank you both for such amazing content!
😂😂😂❤❤ I love the 2 butt kitchen😂😂 Beautiful Home And Property!
🍑🍑😆
I really like that a frame. I like the bedroom upstairs if you have guest over they have privacy and I would have privacy.
Absolutely! That privacy was definitely helpful when we hosted my family for a big get-together. 😊
I’ve been watching you guys, on and off, for quite a while. Reno’s are expensive but if you really want skylights; DO NOT GO CHEAP!!! Velux used to be a quality name, if they are still in business. You never want a leaking skylight!!! (Experience🙄
Excellent advice!! Leaks would be a nightmare. Sorry to hear about your about experience :/
When you do build your office, try to go bigger, you both do so much and I can see some eager interns wanting to absorb all that knowledge in your future❤
Ooh great thinking! It would be fun to work with interns 😊 all the more reason to build that detached office with growth in mind. 🙏💫
Congratulations on your new property. We had an A frame in Maple Falls, Washington when I was growing up. I am still living in my 2003 Honda Element on the road and getting ready to build out my 2011 Honda Element E Camper for travel and living. I hope to see you down the road when I am back in Oregon this summer. Reach out and let's connect, Cheers!
That’s awesome!! Elements are the best. We’d love to see how your setup! Hope we do connect 😄😊
I really love your tiny mansion! I know whatever you decide to do to it will be awesome.
Thank you!! 🥰
Love your place. I was so excited to see how you both are doing. Thanks so much.
We so appreciate the love 😊✨❤️
I don't know how this took me so long to see/watch, but here I am! 😅 I loved finally getting to see where you've been emailing me from for all this time 😂.
What a great tour and quirky home! I didn't realize that there were so many structures on the property. What a great buy! I, of course, have a million suggestions for everything, but it might be too many projects on top of what you already have planned.
I will however suggest that if you do get rid of a bedroom, maybe it could be the downstairs one and you can rework that space ( and the laundry room into a kitchen/bathroom expansion and still have room to put Christian's office there as well 🤔.
I'd need some some measurements and a floorplan, but there's lots that can be done with that cute house! Also, I'm personally a fan of keeping the floor above the living room open and just painting/insulating the ceiling and staining the beams rather than closing it in with sheetrock.
Just some food for thought. Thanks for sharing!❤
My dream was always to have a greenhouse❤ love your videos
Thank you kindly! We appreciate you 😊
Here's a suggestion purchase a portable saw Mill and Mill your own wood or purchased whole trees and cut and dry it yourself there should be considerable savings in lumber and you can sell any excess lumber you don't need
Yes!! We would very much like to get a portable saw mill; had to cut down a couple trees last fall that are just waiting to be put to use 😁
Congratulations guys, so happy for you❤
Thank you kindly! 🥰
What a beautiful property and area you live the other structures are bonus as well as the bus . it would be nice to see what you do with them . I love A frame cabin,s you see quite a few here in Ontario around a lake their comfy cozy, I love yours real nice size. I love your two butt kitchen too lol , The lofts are cool. I am so very sorry about winnie it is so hard to lose your fur baby . Id take that one wall out too to open it up. Hey thanks for showing us around .
Thank you kindly for the sweet feedback & condolences 💗
Congratulations on your property! Great to hear your plans.
You asked for ideas. 🙂 I would break down the wall between the linving space and the ds bedroom. That way you get more light and a spacious living room where you can create a dining/working (Alexis) area. In the future you could break down the add on and make a sun room at the back. Great for passive warmth in the winter, plus you can use it as a mud room or build out the kitchen.
Thank you!! Love the idea of adding a sunroom.🌞 More light is definitely needed, and an open downstairs would help tremendously with flow. Also would allow us to put in a nice big table for dining & projects 🤔
Exactly. 😉
I'm looking forward to what's coming (all in time). Enjoy!
Congratulations on your new property. Excited to whats instore. More power
Thank you!!
More spacious than I thought it would be,so lovely❤
I have a one draw dishwasher. Works great.
That could possibly work for us-will definitely look into it!
I love your aframe.. The best part of having this place is you are gonna put it together the way you two want it and, call it home and, that's all that matters.
Gods Blessings to you both!!!
Hi Alexis and Christian: I love your A-Frame cabin and the ecclectic artwork on the vertical walls, as well as the comfy chairs and propane wood stove. Love the kitchen space, and all of the bedrooms. Thanks for sharing. Jenny
Thanks Jenny! We definitely love an eclectic vibe 💫😊
How Beautiful... Wow
Thank you! Cheers!
Soooo cozy ❤❤❤❤❤
It really is! 🥰
VERY sweet set up with that property and all the buildings. God bless you guys. Thanks for sharing.
☺️❤️
This tiny home has so much potential for storage and decoration. Wishing you the best!
Thank you so much!
I like A-frame camps, but never wanted to live in one full time. But your A-frame is wonderful. I think part of what makes the homestead so usable is how many outbuildings are used for things that most people shove into their houses. And I love that you hated that half-moon builders’ special door! When rebuilding my house after a flood, my contractor saw the look on my face and asked what was wrong.
Me: That door. I hate the door the last contractor installed.
Contractor: Not a problem! I know what you like now. I’ll be back in a bit.
Later: A gorgeous half window/half panel door appeared. The half window has four glass panels that let in tons of light and are definitely not builders’ special. 😊
Love that; your new door sounds so lovely! The outbuilding provide so much flexibility-really such an asset. 👌🙏
I think if you paint the plywood black and leave the 1x4s natural wood, the contrast would look very nice and the black plywood will disappear if you paint it matte black.
Just an opinion 😊
Dig it!! Maybe stain the beams 🤔😊
Lovely home! 💖💕
I would keep the room.😊
Appreciate the feedback! 🩷💕
This is Gonna b so Cool THE🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Friday😀….
Hope you enjoy a look inside our humble homestead! 💖
Try looking into an extended dormer for the kitchen sink. Maybe you open that area of the kitchen 👍
Great idea!
Hello Christian and Alexis, we are having our first real Snow Storm🎉.
Just in time for Spring😳.
I love that you've purchased a mini mansion 🤭.
It must feel spacious.
The yard and Chicken Coop are a+ too!
Except for the shower, well ,I guess it will grow on you if you want to get clean🤔.
Im happy you have a new space to have fun with😊.

Could you give us an Update when Christian remasters it🤣.
Sorry about Winnie 😢.
Sorry about your name,I guess my phone took the liberty of changing it twice🫢!
You got it-and thanks for the love! Hope you enjoy some snow fun while it lasts 😊☃️❄️
Love how you’ve made your A-frame cozy. It definitely feels like home. It’s exciting to dream about all the renovations and improvements. I look forward to seeing it all come together. Not sure the kitchen sink space is large (wide) enough…but that sink that has the dishwasher space included would be awesome. I wanna say it’s by Fotile or something similar. I’ve got it pinned. 😇 I’m so sorry to hear that Winnie passed. She was such a cutie. Love and hugs. 🥰🥰
Thank you Loretta ☺️💗
We’ll have look up that sink!
I was a little girl when I discovered A-frames, as well! I love the snuggly feeling of the wood and rafters, but skylights will be a great addition. The propane lr stove looks wonderful. Maybe your new stove/oven could make use of that. The woven baskets really match the aesthetic. So sorry to hear about Winnie😢. I might make the upstairs bedroom office a nice sitting/reading/meditating area for you both. Thanks for the tour!❤
Snuggly is the perfect word! Appreciate the condolences and the great suggestions ❤️💕
Oh I’m so very glad to finally see what y’all are up to! Love your A frame and the property. I know you will do a wonderful job remodeling the A frame.
Can not wait to see your progress!!
Thank you so much! Appreciate you 💕
RIP Winny
❤️❤️❤️
I so love the energy of your living room. So cozy and perfect with the black fireplace and wood back-drop. So many options, wow, must be sooo hard to decide which direction to take the A-Frame next. It will be gorgeous no matter. Love Oregon. Cheers from Richmond Beach, WA.
It really is! Thank you for the sweet comment 🩷 absolutely loving the coziness of our living room
Congratulations on your new home! Very nice 😊
Much appreciated! 💖
Absolutely’ I love it! 3 bedrooms is a plus in my opinion! But an office space for you both down stairs would be nice also. Then you guys will have a master bedroom. Me personally I would keep the laundry room but open that wall for easier access! Whatever you guys decide will be fabulous!!! ☺️
Thank you for the tour of your lovely A frame house. I'm glad that you got the home of your dreams. I also have a U-shaped kitchen in my condo. I really like it. Everything is handy.
Exactly! So handy. Your are most welcome, and we appreciate the sweet comment 🩷
Plus if any land adjacent to your property if it's for sale purchase it as much as possible
There’s a vacant lot next to us that we have our eyes on 🥹 gotta track down the owner! Hopefully not too pricey 🤞
So excited to watch all your home renovations, I love the A Frame House !

Joyful for your successes and now, an A-Frame, which happens to be a dream of mine as well. Can't wait for the time when you complete your home and how you'll apply the nifty hacks that the pair of you are geniuses at.
Wishing you good tidings always Alexis and Christian!
Ahhh that is so awesome! And very sweet-thank you for being apart of our journey & for the encouragement! 💗💕
Hot tub would be first on my list to replace, repair! Nice home and I like your plan of tiny homes to rent. Looks like a nice area.
We almost did it this past year! But we realized we need to find a loer cost freelance repair person 😅
You guys are so cool. I wish I could be your neighbor!
Maybe one day! 😊❤️
Thanks for the tour, A frames are very nostalgic and yours is really nice.
Appreciate that ☺️
Love that frame tiny house
Great tour & I look forward to more! 💕 Also, sorry to hear about your sweet pup. 😢Idk if I missed it being mentioned in previous videos (?) 🐕🐾🐾 & I love that the new front door was chosen with a fur-baby in mind! 🥰RIP to gorgeous Winnie 💕💕
Thank you so much ❤️ it’s been tough to come to terms with but so happy she got to experience life out here & so many wonderful years with us!
Thanks for the great content.
Most welcome! ❤️
Wow! You really scored on this property with all the buildings!
We did-so lucky! When we came across this place, I priced out buying an acre nearby, adding infrastructure, building a small home & outbuildings-realized we would actually save money by buying the A-frame property. So grateful!!!
Induction cooktop if you can, makes cooking so much faster and easier for canning to keep at a specific temp!
Ooh good thinking! Less experienced cooking on induction but like the sound of more exact & faster 😄👌
This cabin is so cozy and lovely! I love your art, too. Thank you for the tour, and the chair looks amazing. I'm going to check it out.
Appreciate your sweet feedback! We are so crazy grateful to have been able to settle here 🥰
I love A frames and omg, I love yalls home! It's so sweet❤❤
Ahh thank you!! ☺️
I think since the third bedroom is already there. Just fix the ceiling and keep it.
Fair point 🙂 it does provide a lot of flexibility
Burning propane can be expensive, as prpane burns fast. Nice home.
Definitely! The mini split helps offset propane use, but definitely getting more insulation in the roof and crawlspace will help tremendously 😁
WELL DONE🎉❤
Beautiful house. Go for it make it your own. Thanks for your videos 📹.
You are most welcome! Thank you for watching❣️
❤
😊 thumbs up 😊
That window in the living room - I’d add a window below.
Interesting idea 🤔 like it for adding light but it is one of our few straight walls that helps a lot with functionality of the space.
I have to insulate from my outside roof also- might add dormers then to lighten up current 550 sq cabin
Love the dormer idea! Whereabouts is your cabin?
I’ve always lived A-framed houses since I was a kid also !!!
I’d put horses on that land and not dang smelly chickens !!!
