I've made a Part 2 to this video to include Cottage Living, My Wedding Stories, and High School Years sims, you can watch it here: czcams.com/video/vXtx8FJ23bM/video.html
Bisexual culture was collectively going "Hmmmmm" when Vampires first released and we all got a look at Caleb Vatore
Fun fact: everybody is in love with Caleb. Ohh, how many times he became the husband of my sims...
the lesbian couple in Sulani might have a bi character if you think about it.. because the boy is biologically related to one of the women. So either they used a donor or The boy is from a prior relationship. Which would be so cute. because her now wife helped her when she was in need. OwO
@@Phant0mGam3s in my headcanon she's bi
I love how they also point out he has a preference as all too often we are stigmatized for having any.
@@Aqua-vf3jr Oh same. On my main playthrough, he's my sim's bff. I pretend she knew him from college or something and the kids call him Uncle Caleb. But I'm trying very hard to resist the urge to have her cheat on her hubby with him. I think I'll find him a nice guy instead.
Theres also a hidden mermaid sim named Paka'a Uha from island living, who is male with a feminine body!
I didn't know that! Thanks for sharing.
This makes me want to search for Paka'a in my game.
@@TycoCurious He's honestly my favorite Sim to do legacy challenges with due to the mermaid trait and him being really pretty. xD
I actually just found him in my Trans LP! He's becoming friends with my main sim and I can definitely see why you'd want to use his genes for a legacy 👌
I actually thought he was a lesbian so I had my sim get with him and she ended up pregnant and I was so confused 😂
Exactly! to my surprise, my sim had a baby with him, so another case of difeerent body type and different ability to impregnate others/get pregnant. Same with Sulani's Lia:)
I always thought all Sims were bi. Like it's a binormative world.
I think it. I wish in The Sims 5, you could change it (to bi, gay, straight, or pan).
And then, if a gay male sim flirts or gets flirted by a woman, he would get a embarassed moodlet and viceversa.
The Sims 4 is a bunch of really pretty pansexual people speaking gibberish. And I LOVE IT.

Also the elderly gay couple in cottage living!
Still waiting for the 50% sale to get Cottage Living, but definitely excited to see another elderly couple
@@TycoCurious nows ur chance!!
Ian and Derrick are my favourite sims ever
i feel like darling is aromatic bc of her unflirty trait
i feel like every character w/ the unflirty trait is on the aro spectrum lol
Nobody ever mentions Paka'a Uha. To me he's clearly a trans merman. Plus he looks cute af
I change my headcanon for him in every safe file. In some he's a trans man and in others he's an intersex man. I love him, he's so beautiful. I always edit his mermaid form and have a lot of fun making it even more beautiful
Thank you to people in the comments highlighting a few LGBT Sims I missed!
> Derek McMillan and Ian Moody: an elderly gay couple included in Cottage Living
> Paka'a Uha: an NPC in Island Living who has all traditional masculine settings except for a feminine physical frame and his hairstyle also belongs to the "Feminine" category
*Spoiler* Paka'a is also a mermaid occult sim.
Caleb and Morgyn are hottest Sims in the game!! They make a very cute couple and they're married in all my saved files💕However, I find it funny that even though Caleb loves Morgyn but we all know that Bi-Vampire has many affairs with others and when that happens I get Morgyn to use his untamed magic on Caleb lol It's like those 2 have a "Love/Hate" Relationship and it's so adorable! 🥰
I always thought Darling was either a trans boy who hasn't transitioned or just a tomboy. I leaned stronger into tomboy. because this is something that people think about to much now or days. They see someone who doesn't "fit gender binary" in clothing and they want to make them LGBT. Which hey i get it. I am bi and would love more LGBT inclusion. but I also wish that people stopped associating gender so much with what someone wears. A guy can like skirts and be cis straight. A girl can like sporty clothing, can be buff and can also be cis straight. A non-binary person does not need to be andro and not all gays have a look. I think they left Darling this way so people can make darling to who they think Darling might be. She can be a butch lesbian, a tomboy, a boss b*tch, a trans boy, a sporty girl. That is the fun of life sims. We are all right in some way. because this is our story.
Yes I love that! I never shame anyone for their headcannons because I would'nt want someone to do that to me.
Of course anyone can be gender non-conforming, but for some reason I had been _sure_ that enby Darling was canon… x)
I may have completely made that up though.
I always saw Darling as non-binary, maybe because of the unflirty trait
@@itsyourfriendlyneighbourho7281
The unflirty trait is more reminiscent of aromanticism, don’t you think?
I can assure you, non-binary people can be _very_ flirty. x)
@@viveleshistoires4874 idk then, just kinda saw Darling that way
i hope that in sims 5 they add an option to choose pronouns. i downloaded a mod that lets me pick pronouns and even add my own to them (refer by neonocean, i highly recommend it), but having it done officially would be absolutely amazing to see!
I really hope we don't have to wait for TS5 for that because I agree that seeing official neutral pronouns would be rad.
And thanks for the mod reco, I'll check it out!
I didn't know mods were a thing until like a year ago, so I am very behind in all the amazing content modders are making.
I don’t know if anyone told you this but the sims team is working on adding pronouns to the game and are trying to find a way to do this with all languages as not all of them have gender neutral terms. I hope this didn’t come across as rude.
@@mountebanksham6013 oh that's awesome! I didn't know that actually, but I'm so happy to hear that!
Unpopular opinion i actually want it to be more realistic and I want some parents not accept their child being queer or I just want to be able to actually choose an orientation and ask about someone else's when choosing a partner.
that's hard with the translation to another languages
One feature I wish the Sims included was the option polyamory relations (more than 1 spouse/thruples), in addition to that if 3 sims are romantically involved can all share a bed.
Also a feature I wanted since sims 2 in CAS was Heterochromia. They had it for pets but not sims
I've tried to make a thruple in sims 4 and all three ended up hating each other cos of jealosy.
If you have eco lifestyle expansion pack, you can kinda have ployamorous Sims with the 'No Jealousy' neighbourhood choice, though it only works for in that neighbourhood. This is how I have made them, though I'm not sure if they can get married to multiple people--I've only made them have multiple boyfriends.
@@adalunar1550 wish there was that option but with no jealousy when sim a kisses sim b, and sim c won’t get jealous
YES!!! Sims should be able to have more spouses.
The best I can think to do this is to cheat through the serial romance aspiration with all 3 sims, the perk from this aspiration makes it so no sims get jealous when the sim who has the perk performs romantic interactions
Because Darling Walsh hasn't been confirmed, it makes me a bit uncomfortable that the assumption is so strong. people can dress and present however they want regardless of sexuality and identity. i myself am a straight cis woman who dresses a lot like Darling because that's how i feel most comfortable and confident. Of course I'm not saying gaydar is wrong but it just rubbed me the wrong way with the sentiment feeling like "of course she's a lesbian, because just LOOK at her, she has to be"
honestly if someone said "of course she's a lesbian, because just LOOK at her, she has to be" that would just be wrong since its a lesbian stereotype lmao
I think it also has to do with the fact Darling is a teen living with two ppl they’re not related to, no parents in sight, and has an unusual name (common for nb or trans ppl when choosing new names) that support the idea of a queer narrative
I think Darling is ace/aro!
Kale M. Jade, you make a really great point in this comment!
I feel very similar when cis people make/define sims as trans men, because it's usually so rooted in stereotypes that it makes me uncomfortable.
I definitely don't think how someone dresses impacts their gender/sexuality, but my inclusion of Darling was commentary on how her style is butch (which can be straight as well) and the fact she is a teenager living with random adult friends who also have queer coded style (again people can dress however they want without it being gay/straight, but there are certain styles that are prominent in queer/trans communities) made me connect her to being a lesbian, but through reading other people's opinions I would actually go back and say she is a butch aro/ace if I could.
But yeah I think when butch/lesbian/aro/ace/nb/trans people look at Darling and say "hey they look like me/my community!" it feels like a fine assumption compared to what you are rightly calling out as wrong for people to say "she/they/he HAS to be [insert identity] based on clothing!"
Anyway, thanks for sharing this POV!
It makes me uncomfortable when cis straights try to school queer people about queerness. Get out of here lmao.
I've always referred to Darling as They/Them...I don't know why, it just sounds right in my head but to be honest all of those sims are what we want them to be, that's the whole point of The Sims 4, which is probably why developers didn't think about adding stuff like chemistry or autonomous gender preference (like in the previous games besides The Original one) and left it for us to decide (or for incredibly talented modders to mod)
I’ve always considered Darling as Asexual, bc they’re unflirty.
I go out of my way to marry Morgyn and Caleb in like, all of my save files because I just think the dynamic is neat idk 😂
I like that 🥰
Never thought of that- The perfect couple :)
@@chiaravictoria1498 power couple, honestly
I love that the Hecking family is a reference to the “online feud” between the WeRateDogs Twitter account and a dude named Brant who questioned why they kept giving every dog scores above 10, when their rating system is out of 10 points. Additionally, the last name Hecking is reference to the fact that WeRateDogs uses the word “hecking” in a lot of their posts and the plot of land the guys live on is called “It’s a Good House,” a reference to the most quotable tweet in the entire thread, “They’re good dogs, Brent.”
You did not say "she needs to change her name to Bette" 😂 that was smooth af
Hoping it's fine to give a general opinion on how lgbt characters were implemented into the sims
I hope one day they update how the quote unquote feminine VS masculine clothing fits either build because to me it looks like it lacks polish. It directly reshapes the body, like putting the pants on one or the other looks like it's morphing their anatomy instead of just sitting on top of it the way clothes are supposed to. The masc build shirts on the opposite sex give strange polygonal shapes to the chest instead of fitting like you know, a shirt. Smooth.
I understand it would probably be very time consuming to redo how the clothes fit everybody.
I would also argue that the clothes don't need to be categorized at all as masculine or feminine, we would have twice the clothing and actually he able to use it but I also understand if some people think that's way too much clothing to sort through? But then again a lot of us are playing with huge lists of CC or that mod that splits the cosmetics into 3 columns lol.
Adding the sitting/standing up toilet option to me says they're trying to make this immersive but if EA wants it to be next level I think pronouns are a must. They/thems in real life are incapable of making their simself with the proper pronouns without mods.
Yes yes yes to all of this
the mayor and the wife from that big family in Cottage Living had an affair
For Lia i actually didn’t think she was trans either mainly because of the fact she can get pregnant.. but just a more buff looking lady. Also there is Another island living sim that has a female frame but is a male sim he’s one of the mermaid sims but in his case you could argue his feminine frame is because he is a mermaid
I love that you mentioned intersex, especially since it's so sorely unrepresented (and misunderstood) in literally every form of media. I love the idea of intersex Sims that are also nonbinary (and bisexual, hehe).
If any Sim is intersex, I'd definitely say that Morgyn is, especially with the infertility, as many people (irl) who are intersex are often sterile as a result (though not all are, of course).
I totally agree and I added to his wiki page recently there is a possiblity he might be intersexed. It irks me it wasn't on there to begin with but hopefully the wiki page founders will find the addition valid.
I agree! Even more so since he can't stand and use the toilet.
I'm a trans guy, so trans or intersex, I love that representation.
I interpret him as intersex rather than trans because of the infertility. He's my favorite townie and I love him to death X3
I never realized Knox was their son. Great video!
As a butch TYYY FOR INCLUDING DARLING
darling is such a cute sim i always want my teens to date them/her but they're unflirty and as an unflirty person myself i like to respect boundaries
Just found your channel and I am obsessed! I am now going to binge watch all of your videos
i add u to my list of favs! where have u been seriously i love everything about this!!!
Excited for the headcanons vid!
Also just wanna say like, as a nonbinary person who’s really into the sims, it’s so nice to see a trans simmer talking about these issues in the game. Like, I was so pumped with the LGB rep and the body/clothing options, but the trans/nonbinary rep is lacking.
I wasn't aware of some of these so thank you for making this video
I'm a bit of schooked that it wasn't mentioned in this Video because It was already known at that time. But the Sims Team officialy announced that they are working on bringing Pronuece in to the Sims 4 I think sometime Spring or Summer 2021 and in the Next Maxis live this Junary they are going to show were they are in the Process and Parts of the devolpmemt for the Pronuece.
So I don't know the specific Maxis Live were it was announced but it was before Cottage living came out the CZcams Channel Pixelade reports about the latest Sims News and does a summary of the lives there you can find more information on this or over the official Sims 4 Social media
Interesting! I must have missed the announcement you saw. The only pronoun update I saw was in the Nov 23 Sims 411 that says they'll give an update this month (January). I don't consider this a News channel by any means, but perhaps I'll make a video about their announcement this month as a few of my videos have been getting comments/questions about the pronouns
One theory about Lia Hauta is that they are 3 gender that’s recognized in Polynesian cultures. I can’t remember it’s name.
In Hawaii, it's Mahu! Each culture as a different name, though. This was my thought as soon as I saw them!
My interpretation is Morgyn is intersexed, prefers male pronouns but fully enjoys shattering the concept that clothing and makeup are gendered. He wears whatever he wants. I romance him with anyone as he is my favorite townie behind Mortimer Goth.
I always see Paka'a Uha as potentially gender-fluid as his mer form is that of a clownfish and his goofball trait sorta plays into that idea. Clownfish are known to all start as male with the potential to become female. I usually romance him with either gender as he's my third favorite townie.
I love how they specify Caleb prefers women because there is a huge stigma and misunderstanding that all bisexuals are equally attracted to all genders. Speaking from experience, it's more complicated than that and we are tired of being vilified for having preferences.
I love that there are pre made lgbt sims and I hope to see more in the future! One thing I would like to see is a mlm couple with a kid or two since we’ve gotten most of the wlw couples with kids but none for mlm. Apart from that, more enby sims (and a pronouns update please EA) and maybe an enby sim who is in a relationship too! :D
It’s great to see how many lgbt sims that are in the video as well!
I agree. I feel a lot of internalised homophobia, especially when it comes to wanting kids in the future, and the fact that all wlw couples have children but none of the mlm couples do hasn't helped. I'd like to think I'd be a good father, but I feel like I could never.
I wanna see a whole family with gay parents with multiple children. I don't understand why all the lgbtq families only have one child
I've always seen Darling as asexual, aromantic, and agender
Thank you so much for doing this
Lmao the "conquer porn addiction" ad that played twice during this has me dead
This is amazing! Yeah, I was curious about Morgyn and Paka'a Uha and Lia. It'd be cool if the sims would have more knowlage if a sim is bi because you either are with a "male" or "female" townie or non-binary!
When you said they should have named Tina bette , I lost it 😂
If you are interested in how a few of those island living names are meant to be pronounced (with a bit of trivia):
*Ngata* - The ng is pronounced how you would pronounce "ing" without the i. So you don't say the g in other words. Ngata is also the last name of New Zealand politician Apirana Ngata, who pushed to revive the Maori culture and community. Other people probably have this name, but as a New Zealander, that's the one I know.
*Tane* - It's actually two syllables not one. Tar-Nay. He shares a first name with the Maori god of the forest and birds Tane Mahuta!
*Hauata* - Three syllables. Hoe-Ah-Ta.
Just put this here in case you were interested! Thanks for the vid, it was super cool to see all these sims, some of which I had never heard of before!
Thanks so much for this! Very helpful
I love Brent Hecking. I've played with Brent and Brant's daughter. In the save I played they had two kids, Kenneth and Melody Hecking, Melody majored in Physics and Kenneth was a secret agent. ☺️🤗
I personally always saw Morgyn as a Transmasc Non-Binary sim. Now with the pronoun update I always go into their household and change their pronouns to He/They (by mismatching the pronouns used in the custom pronoun option.)
As a Non-Binary person myself, I always enjoyed Morgyn Ember and got the pack specifically for him. It's nice to see the possible enby representation, even if it's.. really hard to place on where in the LGBTQIA+ community that Morgyn lands on.
Lia, Darling & Morgyn are my favorites. I've used a mod to make Miko, Darling & Lia into Furries so they're WAY cuter. Lia & her gram are bunnies, Miko is a fox & Darling became a snow leopard. Darling is besties with my Simsona's daughter & is dating her grand daughter.
sadly i dont think sims will get proper pronouns system. It would be really difficult since there are languages that are gender neutral so there wouldn’t be any options in those languages. It would probably be easier and make more sense to make it all gender neutral for languages that it’s yet not. Like english.
The multi language aspect is def a huge factor to why it's not in the game right now, but apparently The Sims team has an update about their pronoun progress coming up this month so we'll see what's possible
@@TycoCurious oh well thats good news!
And then there are slavic languages with no (suitable) neutral whatsoever... Well, f*ck.
Maybe it could be done with option to customize the pronoun for a sim, so you could write any pronoun, doubt it would be much more complicated technically than naming a sim. Besides I bet the feature could be exploited for all kinds of awesome silliness too :D
Frankly I think that’s a BS excuse on EA’s part. Nearly all cultures have a third gender historically.
And they also added the old gay couple in the cottage living pack
AMAZING VIDEOS. as a trans girl who plays sims alot and makes alot of trans sims im glad ive found you and your channel
ngl the intro had me dying
"any sim can be gay"
Wow i just bought eco lifestyle, can't wait to play with the couples :)
also arent it two gay elder males in cottageliving?
at the ngata family in story progression they asked me is they should have a child together and ofc I said yes
I wouldn't say Darling is lesbian!I would say she's asexual/aromatic!
she can be both!
I LOVED this video. I remember in the Sims 2 when we got apartment living and our first gays 👀
Wait hold up, who are the gay sims in Apartment Living? 👀
oh my god!!! i was kinda confused since i just picked up sims again and the ngaras were the welcome wagon, i was like "hold on, they're a couple?? lesbian representation???"
LMAO I love the l word reference!!
I found this video very interesting. I actually discovered morgans Queer trait when i made my sims full on romantik, But incouldnt g’et him to make my sim pregnant. Then i checked , and found put about the feminine trait he has. Great video 🤪
I did. Go through the traits thing. There is an option to get other sims pregnant or be pregnant themselves.
I enjoyed this! Following
The sims 4 was my gay awakening
I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE HECKINGS, MY SIMS HAVE BEEN HOMEWRECKERS FOR THEM SO MANY TIMES I FEEL SO BAD
Caleb and Morgyn would make such a great couple
Two bottoms? Nah
Oooooh 😏
There was an update a while ago that made it so Morgyn Ember uses they/them pronouns, pretty confident in calling them nonbinary. It might have come out after this video though.
The Moody family from cottage living- also did anyone else know that Lavina (the town mayor) used to have an affair with the wife of the Watson family🤧
Lia looks a bit like a Traditional Transgender role (that in modern times are a part of nonbinary) that existed before the colonization of the Europeans in different cultures around the world.
(Especially because Island living is inspired by a Polynesian/Hawaiian blend where something like this existed for a long time it's reasonable it came with Island Living)
I wish there were more gay male couples like Heckings...
Btw I grew up with Sims 1 & 2, I adored the fact that Simies can date anyone, marry & have baby (it was year 2000!)
Sadly there were no offical gay couples in 1 & 2, but Darren Dreamer (Cassandra Goth love interest) always seemed like bisex guy to me...
Caleb and Morgyn are a power couple imo. I'm glad some other fans think so too
as soon as I heard u say “eldarly lesbians” i bought eco living
I have Darling Walsh be an ace trans man, but part of that is just because they remind me of myself and I'm and ace trans man (also they have the unflirty trait).
I wish there was a “dating preference” for sims 4.
I love how Morgans pronouns have been updated to they/them. :3
Sims devs should add straight/bi/gay in cas. Cus that would make sims more fun. And there would be in romance section a bubble with "ask about preference" and sims would tell into what they are. And if for example your sim is a female and would try to flirt with a gay man they would get minus romance and a message would pop up "Sorry I'm into males" that would be so fun and bit realistic
yeah.... it was suprising for me, when i wanted to hooked up with Morgyn and have child with him.... and i couldn´t
i made caleb and morgyn fall inlove and then they w-
Darling is giving aromantic vibes
The first couple my LGBTQ sims are best friends
I believe some of the Island Living Sims could be referencing fa'afafine people from Samoa.
I've heard of them being a nod to Māhū people since Sulani parallels Hawai'i
But could definitely see Samoa as well
Not when Morgyn and my female sim has two kids XD oops.
an update on this: I'm pretty sure Morgyn Ember's pronouns were officially changed to they/them in the game's settings in september of 2023!
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing
Is nobody going to ever address or speculate over how or why Bess Sterling from Eco Living can pee standing up? The first time I saw it was when she used the bathroom at my sims house. My jaw hit the desk. I looked and sure enough, she's set that way and CAS.
i personally read morgyn as nonbinary trans masc who uses he/they pronouns
Morgyn❤️
I love that EA made LGBTQ+ couple in the sims it’s very cool and I love play with these people!!🥰but the hecking is definitely my fav couple
Wait a minute I married and had kids with one of the girls from island living 😳 I didn't know that she was married
in my game Tina actually got pregnant by Yasmine
You forgot the gay elderly couple in Henford-on-Bagley :(
I hope we in a sims update or in the sims 5 get an option for pronouns but we need to be able to choose multiple and also neopronouns
Another possibility is that Morgyn Ember might be a demiboy or genderfluid. (Sexism not intended)
I though Morgyn was a trans male
bye i didn’t know a lot of the single sims were lgbtq i always try to make my person get with them💀
Caleb kinda fine lol
One thing I hope the sims 5 has is the option to choose to be non binary. I am talking about EVERYTHING that falls under that umbrella, too. We have pride flags for almost everything in the sims, and now all we need is the option to ACTUALLY BE NON BINARY. This would mean having the option for no physical distinguisher from any other sims but being referred to as just a persons’ kid, adult, partner, and other gender neutral titles. Being non binary and having to choose is just PAINFUL. But also presenting more masculine I end up choosing boy lol. But STILL!!!
yeah well my male sim who is into sports starting being real good friend with Brent, I could see the romance starting but realised he was married.... Anyway, my sim had 2 kids with Paka'a Uha (who I thought at first was a woman, but when they got married I changed him into a woman cos they needed to have some kids), then cheating on her with Brent, now they are happily married raising the 2 kids.. Yes I told him to leave his husband.. Drama is good in the sims 😂
There are two other sims in Island Living that are LGBTQIAP. Paka and Nalani. I believe they’re both trans, maybe non-binary.
Whaaaaat, some other people have mentioned Paka'a who I didn't know about before, but didn't hear anything about Nalani! I tried googling Nalani and it's saying she has all "female/feminine" settings. What is she like in your game?
@@TycoCurious she has “neither” for able to impregnate or get pregnant.
Darling Welch has always been seen as non-binary in my mind... a non-binary lesbian... but that's because I am a non-binary (demigirl) lesbian and I see myself in them/her I view them/her as non-binary that might use multiple sets of pronouns.
I see Darling Welch as non-binary too. Expect because of their non-flirty trait I see them as asexual non-binary. Gotta respect boundaries if romance makes them uncomfortable.
@@moondivine2288 hmm true. I see them as Aromantic unless they start flirting with my Sim. In my current game they are dead since long unfortunately...
However, I haven't seen them as asexual until now, but they might be Aro and Ace ?
Knowing EA, I wouldn't be surprised if Lia's ability to get pregnant was an oversight :/
I really need to make my Sims gayer, thanks for reminding me
I always thought darling was a trans boy who hadn't transitioned yet because he was so young
there's another trans person in the high school pack!
In sims 3 I married the single moms household
I just started playing TS3 again a couple months ago and realized I knew none of the gay head canons in the community for it
Single Moms is a good one and I read the hints to Gobias Koffi being gay - do you have any other theories/suggestions for TS3?
when I first saw the city living pack I thought Darling was a dude I always just thought and never looked into it as their unflinty so I have no need for them in my game as harsh as that sounds. I only found out last year there female cause I saw them walking around in a dress and bothered to check there settings XD now when ever I see them I like to thing there genderfluid in my saves as they have some masc presenting clothes and fem presenting clothes
My grandma is partners with my other grandma. My grandma tried to propose but other grandma said no because she didn’t want to conform to patriarchal standards.
i always thought Diego Lobo was a gay man
To be bjorn’s gloomymess is because he is a closted gay so my self sim gets him out of that.
Jay is bi
Travis is gay so liberty and summer fancying him goes nowhere with him
