Black 5 44932 returns 'The Great Britain XV' to London via the GEML - 23.04.23

Having departed Paddington behind the same engine 8 days ago, and travelled all over Great Britain with a variety of different locomotives, Railway Touring Companies "Great Britain XV" was brought to a close with 44932 bringing the tour home.
The final day would see the rare sight of steam on the Great Eastern Main Line and even more interestingly on the Felixstowe branch. 44932 would haul the train from Kings Lynn to Felixstowe Town, where a reversal would see the Class 47 tow the train to Clandon, near Needham Market. 44932 would then regain control for the run back to London Liverpool Street.
We begin at a very packed Westerfield station where it looked like the whole town had come out to see the loco pass. 44932 was held outside to await a late running service which saw her put on a stomping performance as she restarted her train on the 1:90 gradient, sounding excellent as she heads torwards the Felixstowe branch. Next, we head to Manningtree where the promised rain had finally made an appearance, as 44932 passes at a great pace opening up to tackle the upcoming grade to Colchester. The final passing shot is captured at Shenfield, featuring one individual who obviously didn't know what the yellow line was for...!
We end the action at London Liverpool Street, as 44932 becomes the first steam loco to bring a steam tour into the terminus for a good number of years, as the passengers get their final photos, before the train heads back to Southall depot, bringing down the curtain of another successful 'Great Britain' railtour! An interesting day marking my first time travelling on the GEML. Hopefully we may see steam again on this route in the future.

Nice footage Thomas. Despite a few hiccups including hot axle boxs and poorly Bulleids, this year's "The Great Britain " has been brilliant.
Organising a trip like this must be a logistical nightmare. 😅
