I am no where near perfect, but I am absolutely against ANY kind of driving distracted/impaired. However, I would trust Shade behind the wheel of a vehicle over most soccer moms these days. I have almost been taken out several times by a 40 something karen behind the wheel of a minivan doing 60 down the residential streets of my town while texting the HOA about kids playing in the street.

Your aside hit me right in the feels man. 1 hour a week is a mere snippet of someone’s actual life. You’ve done more for FA than anyone could even ask for. I’d do a shot for every time you’ve referred to yourself as “bad people doing good thing” but then I’d be too drunk to drive for the next 2.7 years. Keep up the amazing work!

One year ago I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "dirty hobo swamp wizard". I also had never heard of Forgotten Angels. Since then I have come to admire the work and mission of David, Cindy, and the crew. Awesome stuff for sure, and much needed. As for you, Shadetree, you offer some of the most genuine, insightful, sometimes insane, and engaging content on the internet. I personally have never doubted your character or your heart. I remember years ago when I was in Bavaria, I visited the Spaten Brewery which is extremely famous. Isabella who was the lady giving us a tour of the place told us that there was a court case recently there which had gotten a lot of publicity when a construction worker sued his workplace for wrongful termination. The guy worked for a construction company that had been bought and the new owners went over the employee roster. Apparently there was a guy had worked at the same place for 15 years and every coffee break and lunch break, he'd gotten a beer instead. When they got to court the judge only asked "Has he caused any work related accidents" and when the answer was "No", the judge immediately ruled in favor of the guy who was fired. Germans take their beer seriously.
I went to Munich and took the BMW factory tour. Everyone had a beer at their workstation and a bottle of schnapps hanging out of their back pocket. I was thinking this is so much different than here in the US.
I was at a manufacturing plant in Austria that had a beer vending machine in the break room.

Id get fired instantly if i had even a sip of beer at work.

I'm a recovering addict, 18 years, and I work with addicts and alcoholics on a daily basis. I see young and older people struggle every day from addiction, this person probably knows nothing about alcohol and drug addition. They probably watch too much television and need to get a real life. You folks just keep doing what you're doing to make sure those kids at Forgotten Angels get a chance at a real good life, and don't let the naysayers interfere with their negativity. Best to y'all, and ride safe.
One of my favorite sayings is "I would rather be an open sinner than a false saint." I am not perfect. I am no saint. The people who did this donated knowing who you and Chey are. Bad people doing good things. You dont hide it and I love everything that you, Chey, and the rest of the group does for Forgotten Angels. They just wanted a reason to get their donation back. Its sad to see people like this. Keep being weird and doing what you do brother.

I find it interesting how someone will go out of their way to rain on someone's parade. You guys bring awareness to a cause that I and many others have probably would have never considered. There isn't much worse than people who put their irrelevant opinion on something that accomplishes something extremely positive. If that's the case move along, find something else to support (and complain about) and allow people that do something that helps, do that, help. Cheers to you guys for taking your time and looking out for someone other than yourself, something most people wouldn't do.

So let me say this. I’m a volunteer firefighter/EMT-A. I don’t smoke weed at all and never have. I do understand that you and Chey sometimes do. But you don’t get wild and crazy, you’re NOT addicted (talk to an EMT or firefighter and you’ll learn what a real drug addict is). I support you and Chey. I can tell you don’t ride drunk. I have a few beers sometimes, when out with friends, and I ride home. I’m not drunk. You understand your limits so does Chey. You guys are always welcome in my circle…next time you come to Colorado hit me up and I’ll take ya on some fucking awesome rides. For the “holy roller” I doubt you gave that much, and even if you did I’ll have you know that God will bring people to take up the slack where you think you’re doing harm!!! You and Chey keep rocking out, and know I support ya!!!!

Josh, your response segment was well spoken. I feel that from your explanation of things that there is no way that the person who complained is perfect by any means. There is a good chance they’re one of those that texts and drives, and very well may have their own messed up family member that they are too “blind” to see their addictions or problems. Most of the time people are looking for an excuse to either get their money back, or bring other people down because they themselves are hypocrites and unhappy with their own lives. If someone wants to criticize you for a YT video, then there are plenty of other channels, or plenty of other things they can do with their time in a day.
Keep doing great things for Forgotten Angels, and keep building motorcycles and having fun with your friends!

I often have a beer or two when I ride out. It has never caused an issue , I do not get drunk and ride but take a beer as part of the ride at some old pub then ride on.
Of all the hazards on the overcrowded ,narrow ,windy often scary roads in the UK , a couple of beers is not much of a factor comparatively.
" I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me". as Winston Churchill said and there`s a voice of some experience.

It is very obvious that it is not logical to ignore the needs of those who need help because you don’t like the lifestyles of others who are helping and are generous with something much more valuable than money, time. Nobody is perfect! The people who think of them selves as perfect are typically narcissists,, who are the worst personalities in existence. The people to trust are the ones who have stepped in the turd and have learned from it, have risen above it and made themselves better people based on their experiences. Since I was born and especially since became a dad I’ve struggled with a lot of things and keeping up with everything on y’all’s channels has definitely been lacking but I still feel like I know y’all each a little bit, and I respect our man Shadetree. No man is without sin or his own problems, but when you want to be the one who casts the fist stone, you’ve only wronged yourself. In 22 years as a Deputy Sheriff I never arrested a drunk driver on a motorcycle. I did investigate fatal motorcycle accidents and the blood tests came back impaired.
Now, I did stop people reading books while driving. A lady balancing her checkbook. A teacher grading papers and women putting on make and men shaving with an electric shaver.
If you want to smoke weed in your house go for it.
I’ve arrested serious drug addicts, put them in jail to get them clean and hope they stay clean. One drunk driver was a Vietnam Vet with serious drinking problems. Gave him my pager number and helped him get into a program and get his job back. Had him set at my table with my family and shared a meal. He relapsed and I never saw him again. Had a CI confidential informant who I arrested for driving without a license. He was on heroin which he had on him. Let that slide, he helped me clear a lot of breaking and entering, thefts of tools and four wheelers along with dirt bikes. He kicked the habit but the harm was done. His liver. I’d stop by and see him and found his Mom had dementia and he was her caregiver. Several years after retiring I found he passed away. Well since his friends hated Cops I didn’t attend his funeral, I still visit him from time to time when I’m I on a ride.
It’s easy to quit and you’re not hurting Josh or Chey by pulling your support. You’re however hurting those young men who this money goes to help. I was a motorcycle Deputy and we escorted many of biker rides. Let me tell you what I found out. Bikers are great people and will drop everything to help you.

Regarding drinking and riding, i dont at all but i dont put anyone down for doing it. Usually if im going out i just want to experience the event and my friends and the ride. Everyone should know their limits and whats safe for them. I just know that everytime i hop on my bike, i want to push it hard and i really dont want to mess that up with alcohol.
That being said i way too often hop on my bike way too tired. Ive fallen asleep riding and have been lucky enough to catch myself awake before anything happened.
Fuck thr holier than thou bullshit, but yeah unfortunatly fuckers like us get shade from squares, and it sucks that spills into the support for F.A.

I lost my mom to drug addiction 13 years ago. I lost my dad to a drunk riding a motorcycle this year. The last video of yours I saw made me very uncomfortable when you mentioned you were drunk while riding. That being said. I just chose to stop watching the video. I’ve donated and still continue to support this non-profit. I also still follow and watch your content. I suppose I’m saying that even though I didn’t care for that piece of content, I still enjoy following your videos.

Its heartbreaking. My sister was a life long heroine addict brother. My brother as well, died 10 years ago from an OD. My sister, literally killed my mom 2 years ago by ODing her on her heart meds. Then she walked across a street at 5 am with nothing but a folded up piece of foil in her pocket and got hit and killed just a few months later before the toxicology report came out. Its like a crazy movie. As if that wasn't enough, my 27 year old daughter is now 1 year sober. Her boyfriend 3 years. There are all sorts of different levels of addiction. More than likely my addiction to sugar will kill me before anything else will....

I had a child that was suicidal and using drugs and even got caught up in selling and getting jumped etc. It was heart breaking to have him and his drug addicted girlfriend "visit": us then our money missing or items missing from the house. At one point we called a police officer that knew us from church to go bring him home and he refused so she tazed him and he went into state custody and visited us on the weekends. He is now off drugs but still does some weed and has two kids and is married and supporting his family. Huge difference between him now and him then. I am proud of the work he has put in to make changes and I am so glad that as his parents we took that action. It literally saved his life. He was sleeping in a bug infested bed in a drug house and didn't care if he lived or died.
I really am lost that someone would even say those things. Keep being bad doing good. That's all that any of us can do. Keep your knees in the breeze man.

It's insulting to call some one who has been in recovery for 10 years a drug addicted and someone who likes to have a drink a drunk or a alcoholic you guys have only spread love and positivity I thank you u guys for everything all the videos the fun raisers the helping me when I'm depressed and can't get out on the bike I watch u guys messing around it makes smile thank u for doin wat u do and being who u are life is a beautiful book and u guys are definitely writing a great story
I drive a Kia soul at work and its a pretty decent car tbh, fits my 6'5" 300 lb frame better than most cars.
Brother you do a lot of good and spend time trying to help other people and you certainly don't have to. You also are a savage at long distance trips (Ive done quite few so i know legit when i see it) And seems to me a pretty awesome human being......let the haters hate.
