Super video we love Houghton hall garden centre. Did you see the singing reindeer outside? We have our caravan at Greenacres caravan site just a mile from Houghton Hall but it is closed over the winter - but if you are passing in the summer it’s a superb private site with lovely dog walks - Bob Earnshaw has just said it’s the best site he has been to in 2023. Hope you enjoy your mini trip in southern scotland - there’s another lovely garden centre called Caulders just outside Dumfries. Lovely cafe and dog friendly. Best wishes Lindsey

I just drink coffee, I have 2 a day since my Dr said to cut down because it's bad when you have anxiety. The rest of the day I drink cherries and berries dilute with water. I haven't drunk tea since I was pregnant with my first and he's 45 today as a matter of fact. I will have a lemon tea but very rare. Those boots are lovely Lisa xx

Oh my goodness Robert Burns Scottish poet and lyricist do not let the Scott’s hear you just only say he is only famous for haggis nips and tatties !!! He was born in Alloway and resting place is Burns Mausoleum, Dumfries.
He is regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic movement, and after his death he became a great source of inspiration to the founders of both liberalism and socialism, and a cultural icon in Scotland and among the Scottish diaspora around the world. Celebration of his life and work became almost a national charismatic cult during the 19th and 20th centuries, and his influence has long been strong on Scottish literature. In 2009 he was chosen as the greatest Scot by the Scottish public in a vote run by Scottish television channel STV.
As well as making original compositions, Burns also collected folk songs from across Scotland, often revising or adapting them. His poem (and song) "Auld Lang Syne" is often sung at Hogmanay (the last day of the year), and "Scots Wha Hae" served for a long time as an unofficial national anthem of the country. Other poems and songs of Burns that remain well known across the world today include "A Red, Red Rose", "A Man's a Man for A' That", "To a Louse", "To a Mouse", "The Battle of Sherramuir", "Tam o' Shanter" and "Ae Fond Kiss".
The furthest spoons I have found is in Fort William but I believe there is one in wick which is even further up.

You can get weatherspoons in most of Scotland except the far north west on the east they have them as far up as Thurso.

I'm loving this, A Scot living in England all my adult life. Dumfries was my nearest town as a child, I lived in a small village about 20 miles away.
The Midsteeple is a municipal building in the High Street in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a ticket office and a meeting place, is a Category A listed building. Built 1707.xx
You can see the salmon jumping in the summer there
New abbey is a must see and it’s free parking behind there too

I sell them to shops throughout Scotland Couldn't believe you were standing looking in the shop 😂 Also please try Stornoway black pudding it's so tasty That black pudding was so greasy looking! Chineses are expensive in Scotland and Northern Ireland! When we pass through Dumfries we always have fish and chips from the chippie in centre of town which you passed. We also park up where you were parked. Nice walk for the dog there. Too much chicken makes our toy poodle (and cat) sick! New Abbey good place to park up and not far from Dumfries. No charge and nice wee cafe

Spent a great week around Dumfries back in early April, lots to see, it’s museum is really interesting, lots of burns museums/house etc but my favourite is glencapple quay, a brill motorhome park up about 15 mins drive away

@@NorthernersonTour Yes, it was a family home where his friend lived and where he played which inspired him to write Peter Pan. It was within hours of being demolished and saved by a brave group of volunteers, they have created a lovely, fun place, great artwork, even for adults 😂. We were lucky, we had it to ourselves to explore. Some days entry is half price, we were lucky there too!

Greetings from The Cayman Islands, drinking some Yorkshire tea now with a Sainsbury mince pie. All the Christmas food arrived on the BA flight. Paxo Sage and onion stuffing, Branston pickle and Mowbray Pork pies . Still very hot here but the Christmas breezes will be here before long, Love your blog xxxx

We were really sorry to bring up sad memories with your lovely dog. But can you tell us which video it is when you introduce chicco. We have tried to find it but can’t. I live in Renfrewshire.. Chinese takeaway beef curry with fried rice cost me £14.75! Tried and Indian takeaway which cost £17.25.. extortionate the further up you go in Scotland get dearer
That's why the takeaways willl be out of business soon if they don't start using common sense instead of greed.

Chico is soo cute for his own good ❤,try isle of whithorn it has a nice park back of the harbour can take about 20 motor homes ,has toilet s and is free lovely dog friendly pub ,steam packet inn .also garlieston and portpatrick doggy friedly❤

The red sandstone comes mainly from Dumfries and Ayrshire and is from the Permian period (approx 270 million years ago). During this time period, a vast and expansive desert stretched across Scotland, resulting in massive dunes and arid conditions. 👍

Guys can’t beat apiece of haggis and black pudding in a Scottish breakfast.
On the Nith at the dam on white sands you often see the otters there on the small island below the dam. And the castle you would be thinking of is Drumlanrig castle. Not far from us.

Could you go to M&S or a supermarket of your choice and buy some Chinese boxes and just re heat yourself. M&S I must say have some lovely choices price not bad either. Maybe not exactly like the ones from the shop, but I really like them , they do a box with assortments inside as well. Worth a try in you not leaky otherwise. Breakfast looks good.I remember the football results coming in at tea time on a telex machine. In the days when people did football coupons as the norm. Before lottery days.
