Maybe a record for these guys, but Folks, here's another story about crossing the Atlantic. I served aboard the U.S.S. Austin, a U.S. Navy Marine transport ship out of Norfolk, Va. We hit a Nor'easter off the coast of N.C. (you know, "The Graveyard of the Atlantic?") in the spring of 1981. It was 25 hours of pure hell. >>40-50 ft. swells
Jony Lanting I can't forget the magic moment at the point of no return, where nobody can help you from the land, because of the distance, exactly in the middle of 700 miles, in the middle of the night, we stopped the boat (but not the engines... you'll never know), we went out to hear the breath of the Ocean (I mean the waves, up and down under the keel), it was amazing, special emotion... this moment was also the only one stop to... urinate
