Girl, please pace yourself! I've just started third year here and honestly, exhaustion will lead to burnout - try to get into the habit of setting aside time for naps / lie ins / relaxation, even if it's just an hour or two a week. Other than that, I'm loving the vlogs - I'm not a fan of many Cambridge vloggers but you're very relatable! x

I’m in my third year at uni, and honestly all I can say is PRIORITISE SLEEP!!!!! you’re gonna get sick so easily and it’ll get overwhelming if you don’t

Just learn the handouts 100%, do lots of targeted essay plans and don't waste too much time on multiple resources- handouts are sufficient and the mcqs are all based on them. Histo is fine, just cram it nearer the exams. HOM and MIMS learn the paper 2 practical material well and do lots of practice , FAB make sure you're set for the steeplechase. You'll get a first without much work. Take it from me :P
yeah my only issue is that when the handouts are just the powerpoint i spend the whole lecture trying to keep up with what the lecturer is saying and note down the important points and by the end idek what they were going on about. all of that sounds like a lot of work to me lol. thanks for the advice though!
@@MagdaWeronika yeah its work but youll get used to it, a level to cams mvst 1a was the biggest jump i had in every way. Once you settle in michaelmas things will come a lot smoother, and youll start realising what works. Everyone panicks at the start but eventually youll get used to the change. And honestly, looking back mvst 1a and 1b were the best years of the course. So enjoy it :)

Hope it’s going alright. Freshers for medics is a bit mad! Make sure you take time to chill and enjoy yourself. Also do a sport! It forces you to get away from the books.

Magda, I am sure you will get lots of book suggestions by your tutors. However. Wheater's Functional Histology is fab. I used it a med school and again during my early surgery exams. Excellent book so worth a look. Good luck. Hope you get yourself into a routine of studying and can then enjoy the course. Vivien

Magda. Its a big transition from being top of the class in A' level and being 'in control' to starting a new course where you can feel really lost/behind/not doing very well. I agree that lectures can be a break-neck speed and often make little sense initially. You will develop a new learning style with all the pre-reading, organising your essay schedule and supervision prep. Not helped by feeling tired, ill with all the new microbes and having just left home. It is early days and just remind yourself (often) that Cambridge wanted you and they know that you have 'what it takes'. Look after yourself. Vivien

Thank you! And the supervisions are really quite useful if you make the most of them (ie. Come actually having an awareness of the content so you can ask questions about stuff you don't understand etc). They can be quite intimidating but overall are a good idea :)

I use an iPad for notes - it's pretty good I use OneNote so I can access my docs on all devices :)
