  • With increased popularity of distributed applications, related Db2 system and application definitions were defined in distributed application servers. Sub-optimal definitions could impact on overall Db2 health. Db2 z/OS provides capabilities to create profiles to monitor and control various aspects of a Db2 specific system and application contexts in Db2 profile tables. Db2 13 extends the profile tables to new attributes for local and remote applications. Maryela will review existing profile capabilities and introduce Db2 13 extensions as well as discuss use case examples.
Maryela Weihrauch is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and z Systems Analytics world-wide technical sales and client champion. She has extensive experience with DB2 regarding systems, application, and database design. Maryela is very engaged in enterprises world-wide, driving the adoption of new analytical technologies. Her most recent role in DB2 for z/OS Development has involved determining DB2 z/OS strategy for HTAP (Hybrid Transaction and Analytics Processing). This includes IDAA strategy and implementation, as well as DB2's application enablement strategy. Maryela is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology and frequently shares her experience at conferences.

Is there a way to use these profile tables to identify those distributed connections coming with IPs of a specific member in a data sharing group (thereby not using HA of db2 data sharing) and throw a warning or an exception to force them to use db2 data sharing group IP and not an individual member IP ?
