I love the way you explained the foundation chain stitch. I have done it but found it a difficult stitch. But your explanation made the stitch make sense. It is now much easier for me. Thank You.
I got my heather yarn a few days ago but I’m flying tonight, so I’m going to start on the plane to Portugal which is 6 hours, 40 minutes long. So excited, I love this pretty scarf! ❤
Oh my goodness! How did I miss this tutorial?!? My daughter was asking about something similar to this just yesterday. I am so very happy to have found this. Thank you, Anja! This is just beautiful.
What a fantastic idea, I love it and will put it on my list... I'm a beginner but will definitely try this once I have the wool..... Thank you for your videos, they always inspire me 💖 xXx
I have always thought the foundation row was impossible (I have only been crocheting 3 years) but watching your video I'm sure now I can do it. That will be a long chain for first time doing it but I'm definitely up for the challenge finally. I am so excited to try this since it has so many uses. Thank you for a simple beautiful video.
Ohhhhh this is perfect. I made a shawl from a kitand patter and it is soooooo long. I’m going to turn it into this… thanks for sharing. It’s gorgeous ❤
So cool! And what a coincidence - I just got 5 balls each of duck egg and olive Aztec from you to decide which to use to make the Lovelock shawl, which I am nearly finished. So now I happen to have 5 balls of duck egg lying around. Might as well put them to good use and make this neat little number, eh? Thanks, Anja!
Omg!* Have just finished my sleeves and really to sew the seams together! It turned out beautiful!! My stitch count is different than yours in the tutorial, Am I safe to assume that the seam should just about reach elbow length??
Oh, do try it! Once you have mastered crocheting a foundation stitch row, you will never want to do a beginning chain again! Yay for Yarn has tutorials on how to do all the foundation stitch rows if you want to focus on learning it first. Honestly, I start with this kind of foundation rather than chaining whenever I come across a pattern requiring a starting chain. And as Anja points out, this results in a fabric with more stretch. You won't regret learning this one!
Hi Chris, there is no written pattern for this one, a lot of my tutorials are just that, video tutorials, I have a full time job, and with that and the website plus designing I just don't have the time to write patterns too, sorry, Anja x
Certainly on my to do list🧡🧶🧡🧶🧡💜🧶
Thank you Linda, Anja x
This looks beautiful, I've been trying to find something like this after watching the new Willow series on Disney plus.
interesting as my first thought when I saw this video, was she inspired by watching the Willow series T x
Interesting. I saw something similar just a couple of days ago. Glad you have a tutorial for it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love the way you explained the foundation chain stitch. I have done it but found it a difficult stitch. But your explanation made the stitch make sense. It is now much easier for me. Thank You.
You are so welcome! Thank you for persevering with it, Anja x
I love crocheting this! I’m working on the last row of the five repeats now and don’t want to stop. I need to be packing, but this is too much fun ❤!
Yep, I get like that often Tracy! Anja x
I’m so excited. I was just thinking about one of these and low and behold…Anja presents the pattern!!!❤
“It’s…SOMETHING!” Lol love it 😍 ❤

Very neat ce ❤
Love it would this work with dk size yarn ?
I need one in size 4x.
Is this customizable by size? I’m a bigger gal but I love how this looks.
Just make it bigger, more chains to begin with Melissa, Anja x
Omg!* Have just finished my sleeves and really to sew the seams together! It turned out beautiful!! My stitch count is different than yours in the tutorial, Am I safe to assume that the seam should just about reach elbow length??
Great job Vicki, yes about elbow length l found is the most comfortable! Thank you, Anja x
This is beautiful. Is there a written pattern to follow?
The video is the pattern!
Hi anja can you do this with an ordinary chain I don't know how to do the stitch you are doing xx

I have a tutorial explaining the foundation DC here Jayne....
I hope it helps you, Anja x

What size would this fit up to? I’d like to send one to a relative but I think she’s a bit bigger up top.
It is quite stretchy, but maybe you could make it longer, it's basically a rectangle. Thank you herascamander5706, Anja x
Is it acceptable to just chain the 251 stitches, then double crochet in each stitch across? I dread the foundation stitch🥴
Yes Anne, if that's what you want to do, but make sure it's a nice loose chain or you'll lose the stretch. Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks Thank you! And thank you for the beautiful scarf! It was a pleasure to stitch!
Where do I find the written pattern?
Hi Chris, there is no written pattern for this one, a lot of my tutorials are just that, video tutorials, I have a full time job, and with that and the website plus designing I just don't have the time to write patterns too, sorry, Anja x
❤️👍🥰😍🧶👏👏👏😘
What size is this?
I'm a medium maverickmayhem6409, to make it bigger you'd just need to add more chains and rows. Thank you, Anja x
